youre given whatever budget, time frame and location you want to make the most iconic Indie Hipster movie to get as many hipster shekels as possible

what can you come up with
>>
>Jerry, a 17 year old gay boy living in Nebraska is a week away from his 18th birthday
>he plans on taking his 1982 Pontiac Bonneville and leaving to "anywhere that gets me"
>along for the journey are his two closest friends: Jane, a shy bookworm with a stutter and Mark, an aspiring musician
>the movie chronicles their misadventures in the final week in their hometown, involving the colorful locals
>some are well meaning, but ignorant. Others are plain aggressive towards our protagonists
>finally, when the day to leave arrives, Jane is hit by a car while trying to pick up a book she dropped in the street
>devastated by her loss, Jerry and Mark decide to stay and try to improve their town in her memory
>the formerly hostile townsfolk begin to slowly understand them, and they are fully embraced by the community
>the final shot is of them at Jane's grave at sunset, laying her favorite book at her grave, then silently getting in the Bonneville and driving away from the town as some indie rock plays

Parker is a young, spunky scamp at the age of 24 that's trying to bring back the 80s style. With his friends - Breezy, a youthful lesbian of 30 with a knack for thrifting, and Piper, a wicked good seamstress and color coordinater - he just might get his wish. But in a world where newage hip-hop and YouTube-obsessed mainstream celebrities rule, will the radio be able to kill the internet-star?
>>
>lesbian couple
>shot in black and white
>road trip to california
>meet friends on the way on of them is a gay black guy
>DRAMA
>ambiguous ending

Zach Braff already made the magnum opus of vapid hipster bullshit with I Wish I was here

I am not sure if it can ever be surpassed tbqh.
It is truly torturous to sit through, pure cringe.

something something group of quirky friends go on a road trip across the country to find themselves and it tests their friendship but they all remain friends by the end and learn nothing from it
the entire soundtrack will be arcade fire

Are hipsters still a thing? figured that fad was middle school tier by now

avoid the eat and west coat for hipsters, and [arts of the deep south for niggers and rendecks
the best places are the midwest and the upper north. the weather conditions and lack of jobs make it so you have to be a blue collar worker
>>
>black and muslim socialist lesbian couple
>working at small coffee shop
>gets bought out evil white land developer
>both fired for being lesbian by evil white man
>now homeless
>both end up getting lynched by kkk, final shot reveals evil white developer is kkk leader

shot in 35mm black and white, no sound

i cry everytime ;_;

every good pretentious indie movie needs a road trip. Ive actually kicked around an idea of a post hipster movie.
>After the quirky outcasts go on their road trip of self discovery they come back having jot learned anything and are now in serious debt. >Pushing their late 20s to early 30s, they find the "dude follow your dreams, dont be a wage slave everyone should be an artist" mentality is fucking retarded
>they all have to grow up and get real jobs and struggle with it
>over time they find settling isnt so bad and you can still be happy by not being a childlike free spirit
whole thing plays out like a comedy drama mocking all these movies like american dad did

I watched that the other day and it was 5/10

It was shitty and so full up its own ass but it still made me feel good at times

thats pretty much the extent of the work ive done for it. no deas on actors, havent written anything for a script and I dont have connections to get it anywhere even if I did

I just thought it would be a fun movie to flip this flick style on its head

>A group of young musicians have an important gig coming up.
>15 days before the show the lead singer goes missing.
>The rest of the band find out he left on some soul searching adventure.
>the rest of the band hits the road trying to find him by going to places he has mentioned over the years
>they find clues about where he has been and where he is going as they travel.
>as the journey goes on the band members have a lot of drama but they all bond and eventually come to terms that they are a fine band even with out the lead singer
>with 3 days before the show starts they decide to head back
>on their return trip they stumble across the lead singer who has actually turned into a wizard lich on his journey. (subtle hints pointing to this through out the movie)
>he uses his magic powers to summon an army of the undead and the band has to battle through the horde with magic musical instruments they stole from the wizard
>eventually they reach the wizard and seal his soul in a record with their instruments and rock and roll
Movie ends with them giving the record to a publishing firm and getting a huge record deal because of it.

Basically a hodgepodge of Wes Anderson thievery although each frame will prominently feature some form of "Coca-Cola" merchandise.
