ITT: Characters you hope return in SW7
WHOA there goes Maggie Gyllenhaal's power coupling!
>"Well Hello, beautiful"
Every race will be equally represented in the 500 upcoming movies
Welp its confirmed
This is Snoke
>Andy Serkis, the master of CGI characters from Gollum to King Kong, plays the still-unseen Supreme Leader Snoke who has scenes with Kylo Ren. "All I can say is that I'm involved in it," he has said. But Neal Scanlan, chief of creature and droid effects, told PEOPLE, "This character is much better executed as a CGI character. That's just a practical reality when he's 7-foot-something tall; he's very, very thin."
The poetry of the new Emperor type character...

Oh God they actually went with a tall banker guy?
There were critics that thought this movie was sincerely promoting new-age reincarnation mysticism instead of just constructing an artistic representation of the nature of life
someday people will come to see how good cloud atlas is. someday
Especially ironic considering conservatives' constant appeals to the Constitution.
I loved that movie, especially the music in it

What's your opinion on these movies? Overrated, better than what we have now in terms of animation, or both. I think they beat out the more recent cgi films, and it's not because of nostalgia nostalgia because I was only alive for the last few. Each movie had its own look with an artistic purpose in mind, and I always thought the 2D animations looked better because if a character had exaggerated features, it was to convey a certain demeanor and get a message about the character across, whereas the CGI characters just look goofy and deformed. The renaissance films also weren't afraid to hint at darker subject matter and symbolism.
The last few animated hits (Frozen, Inside Out, the Good Dinosaur) felt like generic kids movies with the adults getting on board ("omg guise it's so complex and relatable") because every person who wasn't miserable during a kids movie seems to act like they just saw a masterpiece when they're walking out of the theatre.
Discuss.

Elaborate?
>>63388211
Yes. The renaissance movies were great, mostly due to the mixture of traditional animation and cgi.
I agree that Inside Out and Good Dinosaur are generic, but they were made by Pixar who always make 3d movies.
What you want to pick at Disney for is films like Bolt, Tangled, and Frozen. Maybe Big Hero 6 if you take away Its beautiful aesthetic.Lion King and Hercules are also shit.
Landis put up a video on unoriginal monster design.

Okay, I got a couple of questions
What did the pregnant lady in the bathroom mean?
Why did that group of people play Marco Polo in the nude?
What was Michael Cera's purpose in the film?
Why did he breakdown at the party?
Was that the same Tim from The Comedy?
Was this movie good or pretentious indie film crap?
>>63387916
>Was this movie good or pretentious indie film crap?
The latter. It was pretty terrible, and not enjoyable at all
>>63387966
I know it was "boring" and nothing much happened plot-wise but I can't stop thinking about this movie.
>>63387916
>What did the pregnant lady in the bathroom mean?
However it made you feel it what it meant. Obvious reading could be issues w/ his daughter.
>Why did that group of people play Marco Polo in the nude?
Same, it was a hazy fever dream. Almost Lynchian. Did it happen? How much of it?
>What was Michael Cera's purpose in the film?
To show that Neil was so lonely he'd consider bathroom...

HALF IN THE BAG EPISODE PREDICTIONS
We all know that episode 100 will be the Star Wars review .... but what will they review between now and then for episode 99?
>>63386303
>We all know that episode 100 will be the Star Wars review
>Implying they're not smug enough to do an "epic" misdirection by reviewing something completely different

I'm hoping they don't even talk about Star Wars in half in the bag. I want them to just ignore it until the plinkett review.
