Just came back from The Purge: Election Year. I didn't really like Purge 2 very much, but I went to see this anyway. Great fun, if you don't ask too many questions. Even though the climax and epilogue are a bit weak, pacing and tension level are on point. I love the way the psychosis of purge night seems to escalate with every movie.
Also, afro puffs schoolgirl is best purger, hands down. Also, THICC
MAGA
how does this shit keep getting movies? the first one was literally one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life

And now I have truly become The Dark Tower.
Fuck this shit.
whats with the lame tacticool vest. That doesn't look very western
Isn't he too bloated to be a gunslinger?
Is Idris Elba a meme? When did he ever star in a movie that didn't suck balls?

Hey /tv/ I'm trying to compile a movie marathon, might also toss some show episodes in there, as a sort of "America Fuck yeah!" to play from July 3rd in the evening to however long into July 4th I can make it. Hopefully alld ay and night.
I'm thinking I might try to do it mostly by timeline. Start with movies about the revolutionary war and then build up from there.
They don't all have to be serious. They can be comedies. Like the Rocky movie where Rocky beats up communism.
Or the episode of Idiot Abroad where Karl does route 66.
Was...

The Patriot
The Alamo
13 Hours
We Were Soldiers
Red Dawn
Apollo 13
Mighty Ducks: D2
Top Gun
Patton
Air Force One
>>71572465
Thanks for the list.
I'm thinking I can maybe squeeze "Almost Heroes" between The Patriot and The Alamo.
Did the Mighty Ducks do hockey against communists? It seems likely but I don't remember it.
The Patriot
Independence Day
Rocky IV
What are some good movies with underground settings? Bonus points for artificial lighting.

Wow, just looking at that image and knowing you were talked into watching it confirms you're a supremely gullible piece of shit. I have no sympathy for you and don't care what you do, frankly.
>>71572312
You shouldn't judge a movie until 45 minutes in, but in this case you happen to be correct drop it.
You could be sent to prison for the rest of your life because of the feels of 12 uneducated hicks that just do what some self-important cops and district attorney tells them to.
>>71572217
Could be, but I doubt it, because I'm not a vile sociopathic piece of white trash who the entire county hates and wants to put away (and who is clearly a murderer)

protip : all law officials are fucking scum
dont thank me
it still baffles me to this day that there are people that are convinced without a shadow of a doubt that avery did it
like i tried, i honestly sought out the other side of the trial after watching making a murderer and every single article I found with "damning proof that avery did it!!!" repeated the same 5-6 key points. shit like he called her on the day and that shoddy FBI analyist - stuff that in most cases was proven wrong IN the show
like at this point im convinced people who believe avery did it are actually being contrarian, like they're...

The more I think about it, Attack of the Clones is the best Star Wars movie. It managed to masterfully blend a story about forbidden romance, political intrigue, and an unconventional conflict of good versus evil into a Shakespearean masterpiece. I believe the disdain for it stems mostly from disappointment of The Phantom Menace (which is still an underrated film, mind you).
I saw this movie in the theater opening night. No one knew what the fuck was going on and who the various characters were. We did grasp that the CGI, fight scenes, and acting were all terrible.
>>71571927
The Phantom Menace is personally my favorite.
Its easily the best prequel
and its better than TFA by a longshot

So instead of remaking so many classic beloved films, what's preventing them from instead just re-releasing them in theaters instead?
Wouldn't not having to pay to produce an entirely new film and pay the wages of an entire film crew + actor wages, and just putting the old film back into theaters for a limited run make more sense? What actually prevents them from doing this? Phantom Menace is literally the only movie I can think of that they did this for. Phantom Menace isn't even a beloved film, what gives?
>>71571789
Nobody wants to watch that old ass garbage, fucking kill yourself OP.
You answered your own fucking question you stupid piece of shit, Hollywood is in the business of making money. That means employing people as well, people need to work and feed their kids. You fucking stupid little bitch
>>71571789
I would honestly go see Ghostbusters rereleased, if it was announced that Sony is trashing the new one and using the old one to try and make the money back.
There's 100s of films that I really like and would happily watch over and over again but there's only like 3 I'd actually pay to watch at the cinema instead of at home
The problem with Dark Matter is season 1's ending is a good ending. 3 assholes go to jail, Black guy is a cop again and 2 innocents go free. The end.
the problem with dark matter is jodelle not doing panty scenes

HE'S NOT WRONG

season 2 is starting fine, shut up
>all crime is legal
> terrorists don't use this as an excuse to attack the U.S. without repercussion
Why is this flick so dumb
>>71571489
If you watched the movie you would know that's still against the law even during the purge.
>>71572151
They literally tried assassinating a senator. Why would one be allowed and not the other?
>>71571489
>every muslim in the US wouldnt get killed by bubba and the boys on the first purge
I don't think there is a movie with worst cinematography in the last decade than "Public Enemies". Everything is shot in close-ups, poor lighting, ugly colour palette. Another Michael Mann movie that looked terrible was "Miami Vice.
Inland Empire looked pretty ugly as well. Anyone notice a pattern between these three movies? They were all shot on digital
Inland Empire is one of the few movies that make good use of digital.
marvel movies all have really bad direction
all I know is public enemies is in my top 5 worst flicks I ever paid to see in theaters
literally pointless: THE MOVIE
