How the fuck did it take 19 years to build the 1st death star, but an entire planet was carved out, and a super weapon placed in less than 30?
Reminder that the hole is much much larger than the death star 2
>>63688030
They built the second one in like 2 years
>>63688030
Why does it need a giant trench?
How does a planet move?
How does it not cause catastrophic damage to entire solar systems by just passing by and altering the gravitational paths and balance of other planets?
>>63688030
What's with the light coming out of the indent?
Are those windows?
Wouldn't those windows be the size of England?
Good movie, but was it a true western ?
What was that movie about again ?
>>63687901
For a second I thought that was a poster of Hateful Eight. He's pretty much sporting the same look there.

The Thing
none
>>63687867
Yeah Halloween is best, followed closely by The Thing. Prince of Darkness, They Live, In the Mouth of Madness, and Escape from NY are all great too
Why weren't they allowed to love? Does loving someone really lead a Jedi to the darkside? How does anyone get born?
Padme was a senator so it was out of the question.
>>63687716
Question, did the jedi cannot love show up anywhere in the original 3 movies?
>>63687744
Senators are constitutionally obligated to take vows of chastity upon entering office.
if you like this film, i can't really take you seriously as a cineaste. This film was garbage.
>>63687689
Ok.
and yet you acknowledge it's a film
check and mate
>>63687689
That was the best film of the 20th century desu senpai
JJ has already confirmed on 60 minutes that he will not return to direct Episode 8. It has been too taxing on him.
So who is up next /tv/??
Post likely replacements and why they are good fits
It's already confirmed to be Rian Johnson.
Ep 9 is Colin Trevorrow. That's the one I'm really worried about, because everything he's done is shit.
good for him, so he doesnt end up an old fat ugly piece of shit like hackson and lucas
>>63687673
Is he trying to look like Barton Fink? Because in no way is he an attractive human being.
Was this even good?
Yes, yes it was
Yes, just in a different way
Yes. Not perfect, but not bad.
It made a really bad first impression because the first two episodes were so janky. 3 and 4 were okay, but not good enough to salvage what Justin Lin had fucked up.
The latter half of the season was fucking great because that was when it switched from establishing the characters to actually playing with who they were. I would go so far as to call their arcs some of the best character writing I've seen on television.
But it was too late. And now you're gonna get memed by that faggot with the bird pepe.
Anyway,...

He's a pretty straight-laced satirist.
Recommend me some western films made in the last ten years.

Everyone knows this thread's gonna be full of spoilers, so fuck it.
Bodie.
I've never gone from hating to loving a character so quick. He went down like a god damn man.
>This my corner! I ain't running nowhere!
>>63687405What do you think of his turning rat when looking back on how he did Wallace? Great character but that was always something I thought of him,
sorry friend just to be safe

Are the other historical series with the quality of The Borgias?
Band of Brothers. Still my favorite TV series.
The Tudors is pretty good.
So is the White Queen.
If you like The Borgias you would like those.
Also, Marco Polo.
Borgia
>Go north. Find the Dunedain. There’s a young ranger amongst them. You should meet him. His father Arathorn was a good friend. His son might grow to be a great one. He is known in the wild as Strider. His true name... you must discover for yourself. Legolas! Your mother loved you.
>>63687330
did this actually happen?
wew

>His father Arathorn was a good friend.
what's your thoughts on The Twilight Zone?
only good and great episodes.
>>63687316
Don't like season 4.
The rest is pretty much GOAT, a couple of not so good episodes but still watchable.
Best Anthology Show. Every year A channel would marathon Twilight Zone and I'd watch it with glee. Sterling's prose is amazing.
Why aren't there more horror movies about insane asylums?
It seems like the perfect setting, but i can only think of a handful of movies set in one
>>63687200
I think the idea of abusive and cruel asylums just isn't fresh on anyone's mind. That and the more purposeful attempt to reduce the stigma of mental illness in society.
There do seem to be a lot of low budget horror movies that take place in asylums or old psychiatric hospitals. But they almost all seem to be young ghost hunters trying to make a version of that SyFy tv show or some poorly thought out reality show where you spend the night in a haunted place but something goes horribly wrong. They're...

Because the classic huge insane asylum is a meme and only existed around the turn of the last century.
Because we have a better understanding of mental illness now than when asylums actually existed. People know its a serious but treatable problem and not some scary thing to be locked away and ignored
