Well /tv/? Why is TFA so problematic? It's 2015.

Let's cut through the metric ton of Star-dreck with a thread about the most patrician television show in ages.
season 3 when
If you had told me you were going to score a period drama based over 100 years from the present with minimalist electronic music I would have called you an idiot, but then I saw The Knick.
the music really does set the overall mood of the show, it's really interesting, i can't think of anything quite like it
if they went down the boardwalk empire route and only used music written during that era, it would be fucking awful. i can't even picture this show having orchestral music, it just wouldn't work
>LEMME TRY THAT
>I LIKE THIS THING!!
>After being an inseparable duo for a solid 30 or 40 years, The Force Awakens is the first time Han has ever tried using Chewy's bowcaster
what the fuck
>the MIKE MATEI review of TFA is actually better than the RLM review
They fucked up hard when mike matei makes better points.
>han solo dies like a chump
>overuse of familiar characters to a point where it becomes mechanical
>lightsabers being used by everyone without training and care
>leya is just "there" without doing anything
>they overuse familiar elements
theres a few more good points that he made
What was JJ trying to imply with this scene?
It's still not coming close to Gone With the Wind, ET, Sound of Music, etc. when you adjust for inflation. If this hadn't been the "biggest opening weekend ever", it would've been a monstrous failure considering how much they've spent on advertising. Stop acting like this movie is such a smashing success.
Any films about sex addiction?
What is RedLetterMedia and why everyone on this board talks about it? Why is it important enough to a video 42 minutes review of them having a sticky?
They do a very good job of explaining important elements of how movies are constructed and portrayed without getting bogged down in technical shit or being pretentious assholes.
They're also pretty funny.
And also achieved infamy on here and elsewhere on the internet by ripping into the Prequels to explain why they're terrible, so people were really looking forward to what their reactions to the new Star Wars movie were going to be.
What are some more video series like RLM's Mr. Plinkett and Egoraptor's Sequelitis?
Genuine, thoughtful criticism mixed with comedy. Ideally about films because fuck video games.
Do you think Kylo Ren will eventually be redeemed?
Of course he will. When it's revealed in the next movie that he was the one who left Rey on Jakku (kidnapping and wiping her memory because he was too emotionally weak to kill his beloved cousin) she will try to turn him back, and will succeed in the third movie (where he will die taking out Snoke)
Is it true people love the Phantom Menace and it got good reviews back when it dropped? Will The Force Awakens ever be disliked for being mediocre corporate shite by the normie masses? It's really annoying to see it being so well loved right now.
Post YFW Star Wars beats avatar
So what the hell did he do on Dagobah for 20 years waiting for Luke?
The joke is that Kylo Ren, who has the birthright and bloodline to be powerful, gets BTFO by a random peasant girl who's more in tune to the actual spirit of the Force
basically the entire plot BTFOs Midichlorians and the prequel's understanding of the Force
>"It would take a Deus ex Machina to save us now!"
What did he mean by this?
