JJ IS FINISHED
inb4 hurr durr star wars rankings
missing the point
What a shitty villain. What was even his motivation? Why he wanted to be on the dark side? Why he hated his parents? Was any of this explained somewhere in this film and I missed it?
>What was even his motivation?
>Why he wanted to be on the dark side?
Because he's obsessed with gaining power and he thinks the dark side is more powerful.
>Why he hated his parents?
I don't think he did.
NOW THAT HE IS BACK, what do you expect from the only director worthy of our love?
he is going to destroy all capeshit and end marvel once and for all
A visually and experientially stunning cinematic experience akin to a theme park ride, using 3D in an actually brilliant way again. But storywise i don't have the highest hopes, and that's ok.
>The continuing might of Star Wars: The Force Awakens is making for a very merry Christmas at the North American box office.
>Force Awakens rocketed to $49.3 million from 4,134 theaters on Friday, blasting past the $24.6 million opening of Sherlock Holmes on Dec. 25, 2009 to secure the biggest Christmas Day gross of all time. It also raced past the $400 million mark domestically to finish the holiday with $440.4 million domestically.

only 2 billion to go!
So about that themesong...
You guys here the Radiohead song, that didn't make the cut?
While I'm not crazy about it, it's still leaps and bounds better than that shit Sam Smith took in the recording booth.
How do we fix Captain Plasma?
/tv/'s opinion on this show?
I think it's brilliant. I have a similar personality disorder so i can relate to him to some extent, so i might be a bit biased, but i just love the whole feeling i get from watching this. It's very serious, not much humor in it but it just emphasizes all of it.
>i can relate to him to some extent
Calling it now.
He is Finn's dad.
Me on the left.
>Sequel to a film nobody liked
>First film made 1 billion dollars, yet zero hype for this
>Johnny Depp is no longer bankable at all
>Coming out same weekend as X-Men Apocalypse, which has exponentially more interest
>Trailer has been out for a month, struggling to get to 5 million views on official channel
Disney's having Thanksgiving six months early, because they cooked a giant turkey.
I'll see it, probably not in theaters due to the cost, but I might as well.
X-men Apocalypse on the other hand is going to be a very forgettable Marvel cash in like every other X-men movie in forever
LOOK EVERYONE! I'M ACTING!
>slightly atypical looking actor
OH MY GOD WHAT THE FUCK, WHAT A SHIT ACTOR RUINING MY STAR WARS FRANCHISE THAT I LOVED AS A KID HOW DARE DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why are "movie buffs" so shallow and retarded?
TFA felt like a Star Wars movie, which is a step up from the prequels. The fact that it was literally the same Star Wars movie as 4 and 6 is a point against it, since nothing recommends this movie over either 4 or 6, so we're still in the position that there's no real point watching more than the original trilogy. This movie didn't expand the Universe, or lend deeper understanding to anyone or anything. It replaced Luke with Rey, Han with Finn, and Darth with Ren. And less compelling versions of them at that.
It wasn't a bad movie, it's standard schlock blockbuster. Good, not great, ultimately forgettable.
