>OMG so epic, such a powerful scene, he doesnt need to talk to communicate his feelings
last scene of TFA
>Such a shitty scene, he doesnt even talk, fuck you JJ
hum
Not only was I pissed that luke didnt even speak for his big reveal, but I was pissed that him and rey just kept staring at eachother for an uncomfortable amount of time before we get a completely out of place helicopter shot into credits.
It could have been a little more bearable if they reduced the length of the staring.
Binary sunset
>no out of place helicopter shot
autism. baka
Since /tv/ is now basically /star wars/ I'll ask this here.
Does anyone really think any of the EU shit that was piled up on the original trilogy would have made for good movies?
I recently re-read the stories for jedi knight and shadows of the empire.
What a bunch of retarded cringe that was.
The entire EU is stacked shit ontop of stacked shit.
So many unlikeable mary sue characters and such a retarded power creep.
They literally used the Jacen Solo plot in Ep 7 so I'd say yes
>>64577620
that guy looks like he's a major faglord
>>64577811
Well and Rey is a mary sue of EU proportions.
TFA wasn't a good film though

How much stock are people putting into the German theory?

It's always the Germans.
ITT: Guess what titles the next two star wars movies will have
Star Wars Episode VIII: You're a Big Guy
Star Wars Episode IV:For You

Episode VII: the Force Awakens
Episode VIII: the First Order Strikes Back
Episode IX: Return of the Marysue
>"HURR JEDI TRAINING ISN'T LITERAL TRAINING LIKE IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL, FUCK LUCAS"
Oh really? Then how are new Jedi supposed to be trained?
They can't ALL face Darth Vader you fat fuck.
Fucking hell, can /tv/ please write an open letter to these hacks?
I'd save it for when Space Cop comes out and it's god awful "look at us we know we're campy" bullshit
Seemed to make sense to drill some basic knowledge into the young ones before shipping them off to be a padawan learner under a master
it is a creed, after all, not fairy shit

Even then, it's poor planning to have blindfolded children, still learning how to use the force stand in close quarters, unless this is used to weed out the weak ones

What's the consensus?
Anything that Aziz is shit by default
I thought it was pretty good. Follows the themes of some of his standup shows. It's funny, worth a watch if you like him, but not anything amazing.
LOO.
How in the actual fuck do they bypass Starkiller's shields with the Millenium Falcon?
Scene goes like this:
>It's nearly impossible to bypass the shield, we'll have to enter at light speed.
>5 seconds later
>We did it :)
No mention about it afterwards whatsoever.
Are we supposed to eat that shit up?
Meanwhile JJ and Disney execs are laughing all the way to the bank.
It's a fucking kids movie you dumb shit, do you really think it's that important?
why was this movie even made? other than monetary reasons?
>>64575356
Shouldn't a shield deflect shit no matter what speed it's going?
Going ONLY on what we've seen in the movies so far, who is the most powerful force user, and what feats prove this?
I fucking hate the character, but I'm probably gonna go for Yoda. He was old and weak as heel in the original trilogy but in the prequels he absorbed Sheev's lightning blast and shot it back at him.
Yoda is the best force user. Not the best at lightsabers though
>>64575311
>power level bullshit
That's not how the force works.
>hates OT yoda
Never mind, you're an idiot without a single valid opinion on Star Wars.
>>64575311
Yoda was level 20. Sheev was level 18.
Why couldn't Brock get any girls?
>>64575308
He's a foreigner in a fictional Japan. The Japanese are very xenophobic.
>>64575308
Because Ash cucks all of them.
spilled way too much spaghetti
>Kylo Ren worships Vader and collect original trilogy artifacts
>Rey has a rebel helmet and doll in her home
>Finn and Rey both recognize Luke and Han through the stories told about them
>Rey has pretty much diefied Luke
>First line of the film: "This will begin to make things right."
>Entire thing is just a remake of the first Star Wars movie
So this film is some sort...

Your mom is some sort of postmodern commentary on fanboyism.
Nah, coincidence. Only Lucas could pull off poetry that beautiful.

Why do people get so incredibly defensive when I bring up the gender gap in the film industry?
I'm a director. I happen to be a lady too. I've been doing this since I was a kid and have finally started to work in the actual industry - after many, long, hard years proving myself. I have some of the finest representation in LA, managers and agents. But people still look at me as a novelty.
While sometimes I feel like we're moving towards positive change, the reactions I get when talking about this subject are extremely discouraging to say the least....

Did you direct those Buzzfeed videos about how slovenly fat women are actually more desirable than hot, in shape ones?
Love your work!
if women were good enough to direct big films they'd already be doing so. why reduce the quality of films by hiring second class female directors to fill some bullshit gender quota?
>>64574723
this
What was the purpose of this scene?
So you could discuss it on a vietnamese cheese appreciation board
To illustrate that despite Obi Wan being a fantastic duelist, Vader's supernatural strength was enough to overpower him.
In terms of Lucas-patented Visual Poetry, it serves to call forward to the duel between Vader and Luke in Empire, where Luke lunges, striking with all his might, and Vader easily parries with a single hand.
>>64573110
What did he mean by this?
Spoiler alert:there's more than eight.
>>64572889
were there? more than 8 in total but I'm pretty sure there were 8 main characters
There were Eight Hatefuls in the cabin including Channing Tatum and then O.B. who wasn't all that hateful, so he didn't count towards the eight.

O.B didn't deserve it tbqh
