remember when papa kent to clark he should have let the children on the sinking bus drown?
he was a great man
I dont like Man of Steel but don't be retarded. He said "maybe" because its obviously saying he doesn't have all the answers and is just a normal guy.
>>67617497
I thought he was hinting at him to use his powers in hiding and go find whores rape them and then kill them did I misread that?
>>67617497
He said maybe
He wanted Clark to make the choice himself when he was ready
Batman not killing is why he's so interesting. Despite all that happens and will happen he stands by his convictions. He's holding his ground in the face of Armageddon.
Zack Snyder doesn't understand the character. He understands NONE of these characters. He's just a frat boy aimlessly running around with 200 million dollar budgets.
He understands the characters quite well.

>gets mad at Superman because he thinks he's a murderous alien with too much power
>Batman is a billionaire psychopath with a higher kill count than Superman
A lot of the shit in this movie made no sense.
>>67617183
But the whole point was that he'd been Batman for 20 years and so much shit had happened he seemed to not care as much. I mean, he never maliciously kills anyone, but he certainly doesn't seem to show respect for the lives of criminals.
The problem is you really need a whole film to tell that story, it didn't work when combined with a conflict with Superman AND a Justice League prologue. Trying to fast-track this shit caused a mess.
So /tv/
Who's gonna be Darkseid?
>>67617131
Probably Andy Samberg or someshit
Joe Manganiello
>>67617131
Michael Ironside. CG with his voice.
conan the barbarian (1982) is one of the greatest movies of all time.
I agree, I enjoy it quite a bit.
>>67616016
So what was the riddle of steel again?
Now that the dust has settled, can we all agree that this the is the greatest gangster movie of all time?
sure. solid 5/10
It's boring and a shot-for-shot remake, better than the original though.
By far the worst post-Goodfellas Scorsese gangster flick.
more like the defarted
Do you agree with these scores?
Is RT as flawed as people claim?
>>67615158
The motion picture way too low, first contact and the reboot too high, into darkness way too high.
>>67615237
the "reboot" movies have come out in the age of paid reviewers which is why they're so high
>>67615237
>motion picture too low
>he didn't walk out during the 10 minute drydock scene
It was shit.
How is this happening?
I thought the word of mouth and reviews were bad?
Turns out, despite what Jews tell you, Christians like good christian movies.
>>67615146

TDKR takes the number 6 spot
>>67614774
This isn't a best Batman memes list.
TDKR is objectively shit
At least in the top 3 or top 4 and i've seen all superhero movies
I really don't get the hate. I thought it was amazing. Is this just "let's jump on the hate bandwagon" circle jerk?
In any case, i can't wait for the upcoming dc movies. 1000x more interesting than most marvel movies
I agree, brother.
>>67614108
It was boring as shit and made no sense. And the fight scenes were terrible for the most part. Man of Steel has by far better fight scenes that anything in this one.
Can television be Kino?
>>67613788
Sure, given the right actors and budget. I think shows like HoC and Mad Men can compete with cinema.
Kino means nothing you pretentious philistine
>>67614093
Collection thread? I just combined my DVDs and Blu Rays into a single collection. Not bad for a casual collector on a civic-service salary. Rate and hate if you must.
>ex machina dvd
>he still buys dvds
>>67613557
Looks like a Blu-ray to me.
>>67613557
Its a Blu Ray. I do sometimes buy DVDs of films that aren't available otherwise.
Even at his most pedestrian or bombastic, Snyder makes a far more engaging film than Christopher Nolan (an executive producer of “Batman v Superman”) ever did—because Nolan presumes to know and to show, whereas Snyder wants to see. Even his slender philosophical world seems like he’s discovering it, not delivering it.

Well he has a beard so he must know what he's talking about.
The patricians have spoken!
Snyder is truly a visionary auteur
>Snyder’s thrillingly intelligent use of interior conflict and political antagonism vastly outclasses Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy: Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises — all noxious — which were bellwethers of our culture’s decline. Fanboys prefer the Nolan films for their “darkness,” which emphasized the sophomoric, pseudo-tragic elements of the Batman graphic novels. But Snyder’s more adult treatment finds the material’s emotional core. This displeases the fanboy/hipster whose adolescent embarrassment about...

Anybody else notice how strangely excellent the discussion's been on /film/ recently?
Everybody's discussing cinema as an artform. There's no threads on capeshit, celebrity nude pics, or television. People are sparking conversations about acclaimed directors and recent films that didn't get the attention they perhaps deserved, exciting movie scenes, and new screenplays unseen by the public.
It's not all serious though. There's also humorous commentary on cinematic cliches and differences in film culture between nations. Some lighthearted...

/tv/ is dead, bury it.
Consider this mercy.
>tl;dr
>are the new films worth it?
>are they 2D4U? or just action mecha films?
I want the /tv/ anons for this. Believe it or not you are more trustworthy than /a/.
Do those new films add anything or handle the original themes well or are they just action films for the ADD millennial generation?
What I liked the most from the original series was the relationships of the characters and exploring why everyone was broken. Also having dad issues myself I found following...

Huge fan of the original and I just refuse to try watching the new ones. Simply seems like total garbage. The original series, that whole feeling and look, all the way down to the budget shots, is part of what makes it so great to me. None of that can be replicated in glitzier, shinier modern computer animation. All that religious imagery was part of what made it all so evocative. Now they just simplify the storyline for people with short attention spans. Takes all the originality and integrity out of it and it just looks like some cheap mecha shit.
