>louis' worldview seems to be changing a bit
Haven't got around to watch it yet but how do you think he's changing?
>>69202481
i think all these years have shifted the way he sees human behavior where the point where he can be saddened and surprised by things but he doesn't have to change the way he thinks at all in response, ie alcoholism as a symptom of not having anything else worth saving
i do still think there are moments when the subject and the audience can be in on things that louis isn't, in addition to the usual opposite
It was one of the toughest documentaries iv'e ever watched, partly because I grew up near kings A&E. The park they go to at one point has been a lounging place for alcoholics for like 20 years
ITT: Movies universally considered bad
Looking for some movies we can agree on that are bad. For instance I've never heard anything good about pic related

/tv/ is the dumbest fucking board on 4chan holy shit.
I'm sure there was other instances before this, but this is the first I can personally remember where loud + annoying = funny. The only other thing I can really think might be like earlier Jhonen Vasquez works (but we're not in /co/ right now.) Does anyone have any other suggestions what might be the source of this style of humor?
>>69202034
I'm pretty sure Spongebob preceded it in sporkcore

fucking vaudeville over a century ago?
the clowns of traditional theatre centuries before that?
Oog the goddamn standup comic caveman?
What a completely retarded question

"The droid we seek is aboard the millennium falcon, in the hands of your father, Han Solo."
Could the movie have fucked up this reveal any more?

>nothing is even happening in this scene
It's like the movie COULDN'T WAIT to tell us who Kylo Ren was AND assumed the audience was fucking retarded. Through the process of elimination,...

one of these is the father of a grown human man. do I need to spell it out for you?
Your version is too complicated for average viewer. I agree that, at the very least, they should have removed the Han Solo part of that line.
New trailer for Park Chan-wook's The Handmaiden, which will premiere at Cannes. The trailer looks amazing, editing/music-wise it's one of the best trailers I've seen in a while (alongside Neon Demon).

What did you guys think?
First time in a decade I've been immersed in a horror movie and actually anxious.
I liked the atmosphere, also very good actors.
Tomasin was quite a hawtie, too bad there was no incest with her brother. I was hoping for it.
>>69200985
It was a nicely made movie and the historical authenticity was neat.
But it didnt do it for me in terms of horror or disturbing vibe.
Felt like an unfortunate sequence of events that failed to grip me or build up a greater terror.
>>69201160
>But it didnt do it for me in terms of horror
I think it depends on the viewer. I actually lol out loud at things like cheap gore and jump scares, but the last 30 minutes of The Witch had me in goosebumps the whole time.
Watching characters fall apart around the horror elements and struggle to deal with them is what makes a stronger horror movie in my mind. It's why The Thing and Alien will always be the best.
