I understand that my killer pantomimes and high alcohol tolerance will find me a house to sleep in every night. The remaining minefields are mostly well-marked, these days.
Afterwards I'll rent a motorcycle and explore Amenia proper for another week and a half, before heading to Georgia for a time and then Turkey to explore Ani and Trezbond.
Leaving in three weeks, back in early August with a wild story for you all.

If it's who I think it is, it's a guy that trainhopped on an ore train across northwest Africa and took tons of pics. Sleeping on rocks in the cargo trailers, taking pics, chilling with locals, etc. He made a great thread about it. Might be archived.
One thing that I remember him writing about specifically was how tourism dropped in the region because of fears of terrorism and that a travel advisory warning regarding Boko Haram or ISIS came out in most western countries. Evidence shows these groups were never active in the regions where the warning was issued, fucking the locals over who relied on the tourism monies.
