Any resolutions for 2016?

For me: 12 European cities, 12 months

Anyone else up for this challenge? If you live anywhere in Europe, most places are on your doorstep. Long weekend anywhere is possible.

Where's good and when? Any tips? Lets get this going.
>>
- I'd like to hit 10 new
countries this year. Mexico and Belize will be the first 2.
- finally hike the Camino trail in April or may
- after that, I want to see all my friends in Europe thst I couldn't see last year when I was with my (ex) gf
-Switzerland, Germany (old), Amsterdam (old), Poland, Czech Republic, Austria + maybe Slovenia again (old)
- hopefully get a contract in Toronto teaching kids to ride motorcycles in the summer
- finally work a season in Whistler
- fuck off to South America if that doesn't work out or go there after the season if it does

And forever on the back burner is the goal of working in the oil industry

Since I live in Paris as a Dutchman I have a lot of travel goals for France:
- spend a weekend at Mont Sant Michel with my gf
- go to Marseille and visit the South (Toulouse, Montpellier, Carcasonne as well but the main goal is to go to Marseille since I heard lots of nice stories about it)
- go to the Alps for skiiing (just came back from les trois vallees but the snow was shit)
- Visit the north with Lille as main destination or maybe go to Belgium for a weekend
- do a grande randonee 1 around Paris (or at least an etappe)

then outside France:
- spend time in the south of Italy, especially in Naples because of the food, maybe travel around a bit or towards the Rome and see some more culture
- get my qt girlfriend to take me to Poland, maybe go to Ukraine as well, since at this time it might be best to check out the country now it's at peace again. I don't speak any slavic language but my gf is Polish so she speaks Polish which is similar to Ukrainian (I hope)

To keep it realistic (I have a fulltime job, but I can easlity get time off) the trips around France are possible, but going abroad will mean that I either do the one to Italy or to Eastern Europe

No resolutions.
Going on my first cruise with the girlfriend later this winter
Taking her to Texas to visit my dad's side of the family (we live in MN).
Those 2 trips will eat up a good chunk of my PTO but I'd like to do a (2nd annual) snowboarding trip, a (2nd annual) boundary waters camping trip and maybe a long weekend in reykjavik if I could.

Going to the Big Island of Hawaii in a couple weeks. Then in October I've got a honeymoon to plan. We're thinking either Corsica or Zanzibar.
Anyone know if Corsica is nice in the autumn?

Frenchfag here. If you plan on visiting Southern France, don't bother with Marseille, it's the French Detroit. Hit Nice if you need to, but the Atlantic Coast is way better ( Bayonne, Biarritz, Bordeaux). Pays de la Loire, esp. Angers, is real fucking comfy. Plan to visit Strasbourg too.

I'm an Ausfag that's never been out of the country before. I want to go to Europe and do the London -> Paris -> Amsterdam -> Berlin -> Munich trip that everyone does, plus also go to Copenhagen, Stockholm, Prague, Vienna, Florence. Do you guys think this is too many cities for a first timer and in a period of five to six weeks?

+ Honeymoon to some romantic place
~ EU Road trip

Depends on our economy but the honeymoon is a must ;)

thanks for the tips, I heard lots of bad things about Marseille in Paris but I think a lot of it has to do with the rivalry that the two biggest cities in a country usually have.

Even if Marseille is a french Detroit, it still has better food and at least the climate is nice.

I'm going to keep in mind the southwest coast of France and I'll post here again in a couple of months when I'm actually going. My idea now for a road trip is to do link related: https://www.google.fr/maps/dir/48.8200531,2.3384303/Angers/La+Rochelle/Bordeaux/Bayonne/Biarritz,+France/Lourdes/Carcassonne/@45.9373949,-1.8432846,7z/am=t/data=!3m1!4b1!4m46!4m45!1m1!4e1!1m5!1m1!1s0x480878da00e58e9d:0x40d37521e0d9c30!2m2!1d-0.563166!2d47.478419!1m5!1m1!1s0x48015383c9253d75:0x405d39260ee9640!2m2!1d-1.151139!2d46.160329!1m5!1m1!1s0xd5527e8f751ca81:0x796386037b397a89!2m2!1d-0.57918!2d44.837789!1m5!1m1!1s0xd51408b63ded46f:0x9d4bd7d3d9323d5c!2m2!1d-1.474841!2d43.492949!1m5!1m1!1s0xd51152b0af31e33:0x40665174813a830!2m2!1d-1.558626!2d43.4831519!1m5!1m1!1s0xd57d3f0e00a9549:0x406f69c2f3d7c20!2m2!1d-0.045726!2d43.091463!1m5!1m1!1s0x12ae2c390116bd8b:0xe28fdf3b77a114c7!2m2!1d2.353663!2d43.212161!3e0?hl=nl

I would want to have at least two weeks to do this because there is a lot to see on the way.

Also I might want to end in Grenoble because my girlfriend used to live there and has friends there.

Good for you man, congrats. Are you going to get married in Ireland ? :^)

I don't think that's too much for five to six weeks as you would roughly see two cities a week.
I do think spending more than a week of visiting cities is a lot, where I would also take some rest from city travelling by spending 1/3 of the time in the country side or day trips outside the cities.

Motorcycle road trip across America starting in April. The Canadian dollar is so fucking low and they're saying it will drop even more. I'm going to be fucked up the ass with the conversion rate unfortunately. This means I will have to camp out a lot more and cook my own food more often instead of sleeping in motels and eating out. I don't mind though, roughing it is not a big deal for me. Luckily the dollar fell because of the price of oil which means gas will be slightly cheaper and that's going to be one of my main expenses on this trip.

I've been playing with the idea of backpacking for a few years now, but never had the money and/or time to actually undertake it. This year is looking better so i'm trying to make that idea a reality.
