Are you man enough to post a page from your travel diary? This pic is from google; I'll post my own once others have shared.
I'm seriously interested in what you guys come up with while you're out there. Cursive or print? Do you sketch? Is it more narrative or random thoughts? Post photos or transcription.
And not to be a gearfag but what kind do you use? Is moleskine the best? I do like that little pocket.
Here is mine. I got a instant camera for my birthday and didnt really know what to do with it.. So i took it while travel (i usually dont really take pictures in general) but then.. I got thoss small pictures to cary around and i thought it would a good idea to keep notes about people that i take pic with.. At least to remember what i have done with them cause after few month, it can be confusing.. So i bought a random notebook and here it is. Funny story about the people i meet.
What do you out in yours ?
Moleskin can be a good choice, it seems solide. Mine is very poor but it works.. !

There are things you can't photograph, so you write them down. I very much enjoy reading about my past travels.
When I've been home for a while and pick up an old travel diary to read, I'm always blown away by how lucid my writing is. When I compare it to stuff I've written about my travels while at home...well it doesn't compare at all.
It certainly isn't easy to write every day, or much at all, but anything you can put down on paper is a real treasure.
I made my own little notebook out of balsa wood, birchbark and brown paper. Gonna take it on my next /out/ trip.

I totaly agree with you about the writing during the travel, even if it is complicated to write it regularly.
I'm use to take notes on my phone quickly and when i get enough, i just take a day off from traveling, get lazy and writte it down !
