Hello /trv/, anon here. Recently bought my ticket to Vienna, I'll be going there in mid january for 10 days and I'd like to know how much money I need. I'm planning on staying 4 days in Vienna, 1 in Bratislava and 4 in Budapest. Seeing as I'm 18 most of the museums in Vienna will be free to visit. This will be my fist solo trip

Are you American...or Canadian? Or are you already in Europe?

Either way, that's going to be a pricey trip. You'll need thousands.

My gf is from Vienna, what's your general required standard of living for travelling? Bratislava is quite affordable, Vienna is expensive.

Everything will look like Russia

Brazilian, but I'm used to cold places, I lived in Norway for 7 years, but returned to Brazil in 2010.

My travelling requirements are not very high, I just need a place to keep my stuff safe and sleep, preferably close to a metro station.

The cold won't bother me, I'm pretty used to it. Also, my inital plan was to visit Mosow and St. Petersburg, but the passage is way above my burget.

I did a similar trip over my winter break last year. Budapest is dope, I wish I spend way less time in Vienna and more time in Hungary.

It wasn't too cold when I was there, mid 30s (~1 C) in the day and mid 20s (-5 C) at night.

What's your home currency anon? Budapest and Bratislava were pretty cheap coming from the USA. I was able to rent apartments with airBnb for ~$20 a night, and get a nice meal at a restaurant for ~$10. Vienna was about double for everything compared to Hungary and Slovakia.

My country's currency is kind of shit right now (Brazilian Real), but until january I'll have some fifteen hundred dollars to survive there. Not planning on shopping very much, just some basic souvenirs like fridge magnets or mugs.

$1500 USD? Not counting your flights that should last you
