So, I have a friend that's going to college in Brooklyn and he thinks he's going to hate and get depressed because he thinks it will be just as pack and busy as NYC. So my question is: is Brooklyn just as busy as NYC?

To quibble, Brooklyn has been part of NYC for over a century now.
And Brooklyn College is bigger than Pratt Institute.

Yes, but Brooklyn College, as with most other schools in Brooklyn are run by CUNY, and I doubt someone not from the west coast is attending CUNY.
