Is getting into debt the only way to work abroad?

>24 years old and live in England
>Have 20k in savings
>Applied and got accepted into engineering degree programs starting September
>Have traveled and stayed in America for 3 months in the past with friends
>Ultimately wish to move to US/CA permanently

While I'm at school I will be getting zero funding from family and will be amassing huge amounts of debt. My goal is to move to the US and it seems like there is no way to get there without having a degree and getting an employer to sponsor you which is difficult in of itself. I'd much prefer to save my money and have no debt but be able to make it over there with an income, but I don't see how this is possible without a greencard marriage, which is not an option.

Do I really have to get myself into huge amounts of debt to be eligible for skilled visas?

Shame, I already fell in love with your country.

Is this masters level work you want to do in the US? Maybe wait...get your degree done in your country, work/intern a year...make more savings...then come on over on your own funds. Engineering degree debt isn't a stupid idea, could have little risk, but it's not the only path.
Want to do computer engineering and focus on security? Might get some college to pay your way for that one, being a non-asian and higher chances of not being declined some security clearance.

Moving to Canada is a lot easier while you're still young.
>>
Just paint your skin brown and walk across the border. If anyone finds you, speak Spanish, refuse to leave, tell them "pinche puto." You're in.

Seems like I still need to be skilled to do that, however it would be much more feasible for me to move there after I graduate.

is there potentially a way you can move to canada on a temporary basis thanks to commonwealth benefits? i know canadians can live in the UK for a year or two; i don't see why someone from the UK couldn't do the same thing. look into it.

Sup man,

Yes you will amass a big pile of debt at an American college. As a foreign national, your chances of getting scholarships and whatnot are significantly reduced. (It makes sense - American money set up these foundations and they aren't obliged to use it to fund foreigners.) Most Brits who come to the US for college (as far as I can see) are here as sportsmen; track athletes, soccer players...

Another big problem is that if you have a student visa, maybe you cannot work legally? This means if you are working to pay your way, you're breaking the law. And nobody likes foreigners who break the law, anywhere in the world. There are plenty of Chinese students working cash-in-hand in Chinese restaurants, true, but these places get sporadically busted and then they have to go back.

Plus you have no US credit score when you get over here... so who is going to loan you all of this money? I guess if you're a student you can get it, but a solo no-credit international student? I dunno what that loan would look like...

You need more like 200k (or 500k) than 20k behind you probably. The international kids "studying" here are almost all from rich families. Goofy playboys swaggering around in $1,000 shoes and yelling Arabic or Mandarin in to their iphones.

To be honest, your best bet is to study STEM in the UK and then try to get in. But again, without experience, it's very hard to get an American company to hire you out of college what with all the visa shit they would have to do. You'd have to really stand out to be worth all the extra trouble of just hiring a local who doesn't need to go through the H1B lottery.

London is a pretty fucking cool city too, man...

I also wanted to live in America all my life. Worked hard and made it here in my late twenties, with a STEM background and work experience in my field. I know people who got here younger than me though.

Kek. Thought of this incident from my university's lore.

question related.

If I already work in the cyber security industry and have no formal degree but have 5 years of experience (I'm 23), Is it possible to move to the USA? Or should I just get a degree first?
>>
>>1114322
if you have job experience and are better than everyone else the company is looking at, then they'd probably hire you

mind you that getting a working visa anywhere in the (1st) world is incredibly difficult if you're not highly skilled in an in-demand field that whatever particular country you're looking at has a shortage of native workers for.

I know this because I thought I could just get some farm in the UK to sponsor me while I worked with them for a few years, but it ain't like dat.

Sounds like you stand more of a chance though, give it a shot.

what makes you think we need foreigners to do basic bitch work?

what makes you think we need to let you move here (which costs the company more money unless you work for pennies) in order to get 99% of work done?

we only let in brown smelly drug dealing subhumans. workers need not apply

Hahaha, brilliant.
