I'll be going to Constantinople with le gf for a long weekend. Any non-obvious, (ie. not on wikivoyage; NYT) things to check out?
I'm especially interested in street photography so busy streets with (weird, interesting, …) people, markets, etc would be cool.

bump tho because im going there in July and would also like to know
Enjoy some class act genocide.
Enjoy the people that supply ISIS with weapons.
Enjoy the government that is close to switching over to a califate.
Enjoy the beaches that smell like gasoline.
Enjoy stuff the Turkish claim is theirs even though you learned in kindergarten that it isn't.
Enjoy the swing to right wing facism.

Bwwaahhhh
Follow along the red route for main touristic spots, sightseeing. It is T1 Tramway Line from Laleli-Üniversite to Kabataş.Blue is for the most crowded street(İstiklal Caddesi) in all Istanbul which is the Nostalgic Tramway on European sides route.Red route is packed until you leave southern peninsula, then it's a lot less crowded.Blue route is usually very crowded between 15:00 to 21:00.Green is Gülhane Park i put it there if you want to go through a less crowded place or just chill for a bit.

Also i forgot if you want you can follow the red route along the coast a little bit longer to see a few more historic sites which have beautiful architecture imo, Dolmabahçe Palace and Çırağan Palace.Pic semi related entrance to Gülhane Park.

Awesome thanks! Anything on the Asian side that you'd recommend?
>>1108620
Yeah, Asia.
>>1108620
I would but since you are there for a weekend you probably won't have too much time to visit there and besides there aren't much there except some food places(though european side will keep you satiated if you are a foodie) and some hobby shops but Blue route on the above map will have those too.Though you should probably take the ferry to go there once to at least go through Bosphorus.
