It's time for another map thread
This time with english counties included
>>1106929
Why Kansas? Was it for business? Very dull state
I haven't been to England so for mine it makes no difference
Still in my mid-twenties. Not an active /trv/ler or holiday seeker. So not bad I guess.
>>1106931
I went to Wichita to visit the Cessna, Learjet and Beechcraft factories there.
visited or at least passed through most of the continental US. Not as much world travel as I'd have hoped by the time I was 27. I am limited a bit since I visit Texas every other year to see family.
I get paid to travel so I don't get to choose much
>>1106974
Shit this is still impressive though. Do you frequently travel with your job? Or just an avid road tripper?
>tfw really love colouring in these kinds of maps
>tfw only been to been to Paris twice since last time so nothing new to colour in
Not so much though i'm planning to make the way to India overland during my gap year after high school (Poland-Slovakia-Hungary-Romania-Bulgaria-Turkey-Iran-Pakistan-India)
>>1107069
A lot of road trips with my family while growing up.
One of them was 3 weeks and about 5,600 miles (according to google maps). We hit Mt Rushmore, Glacier National Park, Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco, Sequoia National Park, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, and the Great Salt Lake during the course of the trip.
I should really try to see more than just the capitals of the countries I've been to
>>1106816
I haven't been out of Europe often (just once, really). But in a year or two, God willing.
>>1107261
>Suriname
Weird
>>1107256
I wanna go to Mozambique
Seems like a beautiful and quiet place
meh
>>1107473
>>1106816
Still have a lot to see, Central Asia is next.
>>1107492
Travel isn't part of burger way of life. I moved out of the States after uni to teach and I haven't been back since.
how can ı download this picture with high definition ?
want to go to the Caribbean next.
>>1107499
>from the US and calls it uni
>hasn't been back since *ahem* college
>calls his fellow Americans burgers
Traitorous expat!
>>1107518
Sorry dude, life is pretty sweet out here. And my English is all jacked up after not having any Ameribros to chill with for a long time. I still pay my respects to the homeland from time to time, such as my trip to In-N-Out in Addis Ababa.
In about a weeks time will have added Singapore and a chunk of Malaysia to this map
Damn, all those rich europeans..
need more europe, all of SA, and i guess SEA to be RealTraveler 2.0.
also, fwiw to anyone who makes these OPs/updates the maps, the area around mexico city is fucked up. all of estado de mexico, puebla, and tlaxcala bleed into one another.
>>1107881
Flights are so cheap here, from my hometown airport I can fly to most cities in the continent for under £150. Often Ryanair and other budget airlines let you fly for around £30 - £50
im so awesome
pretty ok for an 18 year old
>>1107487
What about Ethiopia¿? I'm going there in November... I heard quite some things...
>>1106974
I have a very similar experience, Ive hit 49 states missing Hawaii only.
Also MN bro 2nd best state to Alaska
>>1108035
Like..? Ethiopia is great if you have the patience for it and take the time to get to know the locals instead of hopping from city to city in your guide book.
Honestly not a big fan of these kinds of maps. I have absolutely no clue exactly which counties or provinces I've visited in certain countries.
>>1108136
I heard that people can get really pushy and that's very tiring. I will have 3 weeks and plan to do the northern loop and harar
>>1108152
you should at least know what cities you were in. just check what regions they're in.
>>1108161
Patience is the key here man. The ones who work in tourism never went to school and only speak English since they grew up around foreigners. Their whole thing is to sorta rip you off, but don't let that ruin your trip. A big way to cut on costs is to ride with the locals on public transport. Through all the lies you'll be fed, there will always be a bus going to where you need to be at the bus station.
Aside from the touts, I found Ethiopians to be friendly and easy going. If you smile, say hello and treat the people with respect, the people will generally treat you well. I was invited into many houses for food and drink just by being a somewhat decent person to them.
This is Ethiopia man, you don't need to spend heaps of money to have an adventure. With that said, if 100 Birr isn't going to change your life and you should probably go in knowing you're going to over pay for some things.
Pro tip: chew some khat in Bahir Dar on Lake Tana or in Harar with some Muslims.
>>1108175
Africa in general is about getting to know the people and having adventures with them. Whether it be to their village or up that mountain over there for the day. You don't have to shell out for a zebra striped jeep safari tour to have fun man, so tell those touts to fuck off politely.
>>1108172
It's hard to do with countries like Bulgaria and the UK, which have a shit-ton of tiny counties or whatever.
>>1108175
Thanks bruh
Turned 18 last February so nothing much yet. After summer job I think Ill have money for some trip.
>>1108175
Thanks for the advice. Cool picture by the way, if you crop the cell phone off it can really be an outstanding one.
Are you of african heritage or something? Just saying because I'm white and it will be pretty obvious that I'm not from around plus am travelling alone and with a huge DLSR hanging all the time.
As for the touts, can you compare it to somewhere else? I've been quite around and maybe if you give me an example I can imagine how it's going to be...
>>1108587
You just went to Orleans in France and that was it, you didn't even look at Paris?
Adding Tokyo and Osaka in a few weeks. Might change my flights and also go to Hong Kong, Bangkok, Macau and Kuala Lampur
>>1108587
Reading the filename I was 100% certain you were Australian.
I've been to more places than most people that I know and this map reminds me of how little of the world I've actually experienced.
Looks like nothing when you put it like this
>>1108683
How did you cross between Israel and Lebanon?
Would love to go to Asia
> tfw you realise you haven't seen anything of the world
>>1109384
mods
>>1106816
Oahu and Maui are green, just hard to see.
Europoor signing in. It's really sad to see how empty this map is and know that I have visited more places than most people I know. I want one day to completely stop giving a fuck, buy a camper and just go and mess around the world.
PS: Yay for road trips.
>>1109369
>mfw I'm from there
Vilvoorde motherfucker, don't let those Walloon motherfuggers get to you
>>1106816
Great. So I have to use Paint to fill this in?
Isn't there a website like:
http://map1.maploco.com/visited-countries/
That also has regions?
pretty average I guess
>>1108175
ohhhhhh Selassie
>>1109423
I grew up in Vilvoorde but glad to have left the shithole
>>1108557
Are you a faggot or something? Everyone is gonna hound you when your white pasty ass gets off the bus. It'll be annoying, but you'll learn to deal with it. Transport around the cities to the min tourist sites can be done for cheap, so don't trust that chummy guy who smokes you out. SO ASK AROUND.
>>1109517
>Scotland is only one region
Whoever made this map is an imperialist cunt.
I've only just started /trv/elling, I have a lot ahead of me.
Interested in spending a few months travelling Eastern Europe, the planned route is v.rough currently, and, subject to change. I'm interested in Soviet history too, which is why Transnistria is highlighted.
I'm so thankful my folks brought me up with travel. I missed some items on my to do list, but these are within the next four years, if all goes well.
>>1109695
>>1109883
How do you cover so much ground?
>>1110222
Have lived in Canada, the US, Mexico and very shortly, France. My folks come from the poorest of the poor, so once they left their neighbourhoods, they didn't stop moving. They raised me like that, and now I just keep at it. Saving money is the hard part, but if you limit your other vices, travelling can take their place.
>>1107013
nigga where u livin at
>>1109883
>Every single state in Mexico
What the fuck man save some for the rest of us
enough
New adds from Italy, France (all), Monaco and Spain (Comunitad Valenciana, Castilla la Mancha and Madrid) in last month
Mine, can't be fucked to go change colors to match OP's color scheme.
Added Curacao and a bit more of Mexico since last we met...
>>1107495
What did you see.do in Greenland, and would you recommend it?
>>1109849
I really recommend amending the route through Bulgaria slightly and visiting Veliko Tarnovo. It's a fantastic city to visit with a lot of history, it's the former capitol of the Bulgarian Empire!
>>1110345
kek
>>1106816
Planning to go to mexico city and central europe this year.
>>1110617

Hoping to add some more soon
>>1111111
>>1111477
I can't imagine not visiting the capital city of my homeland
Going outside Europe for this first time this summer. Can't wait
>>1111495
Where?
>>1111499
Going to the US, staying with friends in NYC and San Francisco, then doing Las Vegas and possibly Chicago by myself. Nothing too obscure or interesting, I know, but I'm lurking /trv/ to see if there's any hidden gems I can fit in too
Also studying TEFL at the moment, but I haven't decided where I want to teach yet
>>1111489
In due time my friend. I have a few trips planned on paper. Just a matter of time.
>tfw already taking lots of time off work to travel
>two trips
>one additional in secret
>tfw I know they will deny anymore requests for traveling
>>1111500
Sounds cool, I've never been to the US. I had a chance to stay with my friend who was studying in Massachusetts last year but I had to turn down his invitation because of exams.
Did the TEFL thing too, but then I went straight off to university. It could come in handy when I graduate though
Planning to go Tibet next year, and just came back from New Zealand. My wife loves travel but my wallet doesn't think so.
>>1111510
I can't see where you're from
>>1111525
From Hong Kong, its like a dust on the map. No wonder you can't locate. Lol .
Wanna go to asia or south america next
I can't be bothered with the other map. Places I've lived is New Hampshire and Maine. I started traveling four years ago.
:(
>>1106816
>>1110496
Shall do, cheers!
>>1111792
kek
nice collection
I want to travel so much, but I'd feel weird going alone :'(
i haven't been many places.. :/
>>1112104
Baltimore, anon?
welp
>>1106816
I always thought that I travelled quite a bit but now I realise how few places I've actually seen...
>>1106816
read em and weep
Also been to HK and Macao
Planning to go to Mongolia and Tibet this year, depending on whether or not I can get a visa for Mongolia and a special permit for Tibet.
>>1112476
forgot Hawaii fuck. Big Island, Oahu, Kaui and Maui.
That's not much.
Haven't gotten around to travelling that much yet, but it's a start I guess.
Planning on traveling more in Europe and through Asia in my gap year after High school, any suggestions for a cheap route?
>>1112509
How the hell do you live in London but not been to Kent? You've been to Siberia but not Kent.
>>1112549
>visiting Kent
>>1112549
I just clicked randomly on england, pretty sure I've been to every county at some point but I couldn't be bothered to think about it
>>1111188
Hey bro, wanna be friends?
Anyone else feel like certain places (Canada, USA etc) should be broken down into smaller counties?
>>1106816
I am either going to Vietnam or Korea in a few months. for a year or so of TEFL. which one should i go to? I'm thinking Korea, i could explore the entire country
Going the the balkans in a bit more than a month.
>>1114103
Stars are the cities and towns I've visited.
In about a month I'll be backpacking again for like 50d, any recommendations? The only thing certain is a little bit more in Spain and from Vienna to Istanbul.
I'm from South America, only intercontinental trip I've done beside Europe was to Colorado one winter.
>>1114130
My biggest suggestion is to just be open to new experiences, no matter how odd. I found knowing a bit of the local langauge also always does wonders. In Finland, even though most people spoke English, just trying to speak Finnish always made people smile and friendly.
One of my best memories was joining a bunch of blydo workers after our cities football team got destroyed for shashlik and beer. I'll admit I was worried to follow complete strangers, but it ended up being a blast.
i present to you the tiniest travel map
>>1106816
not too many. Hopefully it will be updated next year
>>1109883
the fuck? EVERY state? I call that bull
traveled a decent amount with family as a kid, now a broke US college student
need to travel more
Gotta have dreams
havent traveled since i became a sad person.
had some fun trips before that, maybe ill go hitchhiking again next year
after this don't really have much interest in many other places like africa or south america desu
I clearly need to get outside of the country more
>>1114834
Calabria?
Why?
>>1115114
Ancestry.
A stark majority of my family is from there, so I thought I might as well visit once.
I heard it's an utter shit hole so it'll be a short, one time visit.
im only 19 tho, this summer im going back to france for another month and next year it's time for pan-american roadtrip from alaska to patagonia
Not going to alter the English counties but I only went to London anyway.
After going to Australia, I'm pretty sure any flight feels short to me.
Going to Chicago in August, looking forward to seeing it.
i use a different map showing years but i havent traveled a lot so there you go
>>1114142
i know that feel bro
Rate mine :D
>>1116445
Why so much Turkey?
>>1117226
Why not?
JUST
Nothing special right now. Been a few times to Essex in England recently, so thinking somewhere else next time.
Where in Europe so I go to next guys?
>>1112071
Why do you wanna come to the middle of Denmark? :)
Hoping to fill a big chunk of Spain next month.
>>1109883
>Visiting almost every state in the US except the best one.
