So, what and where is your favorite street food from? Pic related, fried squid with garlic in Guangzhou, China. Love the taste, love the texture, and dirt cheap.

Runner up, there is/was this donut holes place in Reykjavík, Iceland that are just wonderful. Hot, fresh and tasty as hell.

I think my best ever streetfood would be some som tam and a roast chicken from a street side vendor in Chiang Mai.

Fucking EVERYTHING in Vietnam. From the assorted little oddities you get as shishkebabs in the backwater towns to the bowls of pho they sell out of canoes in floating markets, to the quail egg tortillas fried on homemade stoves on the curbside in HCMC.
Other than that, Fes and Rabat are both great. In Fes you'll get handmade donuts and spicy kefta sandwiches; in Rabat you find corn on the cob and deep-fried seafood platters.

In a back street near Ari BTS in Bangkok there was the best street BBQ place ever.

Best som tam, best sticky rice and best BBQ beef, pork, chicken anywhere in BKK.

I lived in BKK for a year so knew the place better than many.

(I think it was in the red circle, but its been about 3 years so my memory could be a bit off)

Has anyone else seen those pieces of bamboo stuffed full of sticky rice and spices? We found them in the tribal villages in Vietnam. You peel and eat them like a banana, and you can carry two or three in your pocket for your daily hike, then just throw the bamboo into the woods when you're done.
I can see where the Vietnamese picked up their habit of throwing trash around.

>bowls of pho
I've had some excellent pho in Hanoi sitting on plastic stools on the pavement.

These?
I bought one from an old lady at a bus station when I was heading from Chang Rai to the Laos border. I had a queasy stomach at the time so it was a perfect breakfast.

Another time I got one in Cambodia on a Mekong ferry heading for Vietnam.

pic related, that was on my bus.

Scary part is the scorpions are still alive on the sticks before they dunk them in oil. Little legs kicking in the air

>Chinese family approaches insect stand
>Clearly some debate going on over which snake looks the most delicious
>Ultimately decide to get a rather plump sea horse

I'm not as well-traveled as some of you guys but in Chicago I used to have corn on the cob with mayonnaise, Parmesan, and some chili powder. It was so simple, yet so delicious.

I don't think I've had anything noteworthy anywhere, just bog standard shit. Currently watching Ainsley Harriott's street food on an episode about Jordan, pretty interesting stuff.
