I went to San Fran in October for the Packers game. Just for the weekend. I had a good time, I'm sure there's going to be a shit ton to do around the superb owl for both locals and visitors.
There's some bullshit superbowl city thing on the pier in SF that's fucking with traffic going directly into the city but other than everything seems normal. I live pretty close to the stadium in Santa Clara and haven't noticed any change - traffic is pretty much always fucked anyway.
I'd avoid San Francisco if you're coming for the superbowl. It's just a bunch of overpaid white dudes working for the tech industry - Oakland is more fun.

actually neither sf or oakland are very fun. its all too precious around the bay with no edge. the carolina redneck fans and the denver weedhead fans will probably like it though.

well thats true enough. ive been around there often and guess its just not my kind of place for more than a brief visit. i do like some parts of the west coast, but even though i end up all over out there often enough for various reasons its just not really for me.
