About Tuscany it's a very good place really. Only thing I didn't like was that the people weren't really friendly, it may sounds surprising and I am only talking about people working in restaurants, shops etc but they were cold and barely answered when I said hello. The "regular" Italians I met were 100% alright tho
And Corsica is even on earth, from the white beaches with transparent water and high mountains there's a lot to do, on a map the island is little but once you're here it feels like a country on its own. Top tier food (especially the ham and likes) and climate too. I hope you enjoy hiking.
I recommend you memorize enough French for everyday tourist situation tho because English isn't our strongest suit

Cool, thanks! The Mrs and I love hiking, yeah. And the mountains and the sea and the beaches and the good food. So Corsica does seem like a great fit for us. That's why it's on the list. ;-) And yeah, I've been to France before a couple of times. I know how important a little French is. It creates a bit of goodwill in the otherwise fairly cold (imo) French. It's good to know a few basic customs as well. :)
