Ask a South-African from Cape Town anything if you've ever thought of comimg here
>>
>>1063504
Will I get anally raped if I backpack there alone?
>>
>>1063504
Is it safe? Is food there spicy or salty?
>>
>>1063506
Kek. Depends where you want to go. Cape Town itself is relatively safe as long as you stay away from the swattercamps and townships
>>
>>1063507
You really get all kinds of food here but I'd say the majority of traditional dishes are salty
>>
>>1063504
How big is ypur dick. Good escorts agencies? Do they allow raw sex?
>>
what's some cool low key stuff to do in Cape town?
I'm heading there in march
also, is it easy to get weed?
>>
>>1063520
Just head down to longstreet if you want weed, literally every second dodgy looking dude on the street sell weed

Always wanted to visit South Africa, maybe visit Pretoria and Cape Town, rent a jeep and drive up the coast into Mozambique. Plus, chicks with South African accents are my weakness.

Whats the general consensus on Canadians over there? Do you guys hate us as much as the Dutch or what? Is it dangerous? Should I expect to be mugged by a filthy kaffir or is that generally isolated to shitty townships? Fuck, I've always wanted to visit South Africa.
>>
>>1063579
Mozambique is definitely a place you want to see, ive been there on holiday and it's truly an amazing place. If you stay away from the townships and swattercamps around cape town you should be fine.

I've never heard of anybody having something negative to say about Canadians, people here are generally open to meeting new people.
>>
>>1063579
Not OP but also from Cpt

That is one long ass drive from Pta to Maputu. You could rather rent a car in Nelspruit or even fly to Maputu and rent there - 4x4 will be expensive though.

Like OP said we generally dont have problems with foreigners.
>>
I speak Dutch. Can I get by on Dutch and English in SA or should I learn a bit of the other languages (Zulu, Xhosa, ...) ?
>>
>>1063506
I backpacked alone through South Africa (and Swazi, Moz, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe) a couple years ago. Took the cheapest local transport possible everywhere, hitchhiked some and walked a lot in rural and 'sketchy' urban areas. Absolutely no problems with crime.

Not sure how anomalous that is, but of the few other solo backpackers off the tourist trail I met in Africa, none had had any issues either.
>>
>>1063677
Yes, majority of people you wil come across can speak and understand english. A lot of Afrikaans speaking people like myself can also understand Dutch
>>
>>1063677
My m8s GF is Dutch and I speaks Eng/Dutch we get along fine.No need to learn Xhosa/Zulu

As long as the Afrikaans/Dutch is spoken slowly you should be fine.
>>
>>1063506

What did that trip cost you roughly?

Hi, OP.
I am playing to go to South Africa next year, March or April, and I want to bungee jump at Bloukrans Bridge.
I don't have a drive license and the bridge looks far away from any major city. What do you recommend to go there?
>>
>>1063910
When I was backpacking SA I saw where they were running trips to go bungee jumping out of Tsitsikamma (worlds highest of something, didn't do it myself). I did a couple long hikes through the park and it was OK (baboons are aggressive as fuck). I think you could also do it out of Knysna.

If you're in that area check out Wilderness and Victoria Bay which are PAINFULLY beautiful (the walk along the abandoned railway line between them is maybe the nicest I've ever done, and I've been around). Don't worry about transport in SA there are minibusses that run everywhere you can just flag down and are cheap.

Re: extreme sports shit, I did do the 'worlds highest abseil' down Table Mountain in Cape Town. Had done a lot of repelling in the past (including free helicopter repels in the military) and thought I was 110% over any fear of heights, but **FUCK** that was high up and SCARY. Won it for free playing pool a rainy day in Cape Town which made it even better.

Is it easy enough to find escorts? What is the easiest/safest way, through an agency or do some of them hang out in bars of fancy hotels? Are high class escorts mostly white, black, both?
>>
>>1064002
Ive never made use of escorts but ive been to a stripclub in cape town where there was rumours that you could pay the strippers extra and take them home for the night
>>
>>1063939
There are better alternatives toe south-African taxi's (the white minibuses ). Some of them will rip you off big time if they hear your accent
>>
How does it feel to be literally the only city left in Africa, after the Egyptian revolution stigmatized Cairo, that is considered worth visiting by mainstream tourists?
>>
>>1063579
The Dutch hate us? Why? Is it beacuse of all the people who act like the Dutch still owe us for a small favour done over 60 years ago?
>>
As a person of color who lives in the US, how many people (on average) still hold onto their old timey Apartheid sentiments?

Will I get anally raped if I go here?
>>
Could I buy a person there?
How much?
>>
>>1064071
The fares are all posted on the windows, at least all the intercity buses. I took dozens and am pretty positive I was never overcharged a rand. The white minibuses in South Africa are really amazing: cheap, clean, spacious, pretty much all of them new. It's in the rest of Africa where standards drop through the floor.
>>
Are you white or black?
>>
>>1064075
Joburg isnt too bad either, been working there for a few months.
>>
>>1064164
Had to laugh big time, nice bait.
>>
>>1064213
Not trolling. Never saw a single other white person on them and I don't get why. They're inconvenient if you have to be someone at a particular time (since they depart when full), but if you're a backpacker they're perfect. Price is always posted IIRC, and even if it wasn't you could just see what everyone else was paying (customers make change amongst themselves). In South Africa they're almost all big new Toyotas like pic related too.

The minibusses that do routes in the big cities are much more difficult to figure out, but you can just ask a local it's not that difficult. In Joburg I remember it was all conducted with hand signals which was cool.

I'm not sure if they have them in Joburg but in cape town we have these MyCity busses that have fixed routes throughout the entire cape. It's really convenient and affordable. I've used them a few times and I would recommend using them instead of the white minibuses.

What about Golden Arrow?
>>
>>1064107
Public opinion of Canada in the Netherlands is stil pretty positive, I don't know what that guy was getting at.
>>
>>1064109
If you go to the Afrikaner countryside, there might be some cross looks. But you'd be spending money so they would be insane to do anything untoward.
>>
>>1064280
They are safe but they usually do longer routes.
>>
>>1063504
I'm from the UK. Is there anywhere I shouldn't travel because of any anti-British sentiment? Will I be harassed?
>>
>>1064351
If you stay clear of townships and swattercamps you will be fine.
>>
>>1064345
It's kind of ridiculous for big cities like Cape Town and Jozi to have such choppy transport. Buses that run every 30 minutes and shut down at 10 PM. Most big US cities have 24/7 services and only some cities have van service. In New York the vans only run in Brooklyn and Queens and in some neighborhoods.
>>
How's the party scene in Cape Town? Should I completely avoid the Flats if I value my life?
>>
>>1064598
Pretty much yeah lol if you're referring to the Cape flats
>>
>>1064109
Most white people will not be openly racist from the get go, and you would really have to say something stupid to piss them off and provoke comments like that. It's been 20+ years since that was the norm.
>>
>>1064351
Anti-Brit hasn't been a thing since the 80's.
>>
Are the cities worth visiting? My South African friend said the Safari tours would always be nice, but the cities weren't worth the trouble
>>
>>1065961
Theres a lot of hiking routes in and around the city if you're into that kind of stuff but yeah the safaris are also cool

What do you want to see?

Cape Town has good weather in the summer and has lots of attractions like hikes and touristy things to do and bars.

Knysna could be your base for the Southern Cape where there are are lots of beaches and good nature spots - plus the bungee jumping mentioned earlier. Oudtshoorn also has a few good attractions in the area.

In PE you can go to the Addo elephant park for the "safari" experience as most tourists say, beaches. Relatively good night life.

I dont really like Durban - but the wild coast has some good towns and beaches and you can get your fill of nature there as well, I'd much rather go to the Transkei to places like hole in the wall or coffee bay - a place that is excellent is White Clay - the beach is rocky but you can go fishing and the guys there will sell you cheap crayfish caught fresh.

I stayed in Bloem before moving to Cpt and I enjoyed it but I dont think there is a lot for tourists to do - even though they have nice places to go and see the wow factor isnt as good. Lots of museums there about the old regime - which I never went to and I'm regretting now.

Joburg I havent been there enough to have a good opinion about it.

Cape Town would probably be the best city to go to.

Fuck. I love the view over Simon's Town. I used to rent a house there. The ocean at my feet. Yesss
>>
>>1066064
It's quite hot here now, we're getting 30+ degrees Celsius for the past week or so in Cape Town and it will be like this probably untill the end of Feb or so
>>
Cape Town (Cape of Good Hope)

And especially the nature

Is my brother Maleven still alive?

Makwushi deserved to get clipped.
>>
>>1066064
Do you surf?
>>
>>1066105
I don't surf, when I was younger we used to play touch rugby on the beach (East London) where the water is warmer and we bodysurfed a bit, my mate was serious about body boarding.
