Hey /trv/ have any of you ever been abroad and caught up in really bad weather or a natural disaster? I'm sure most of you try to avoid it by checking the weather beforehand but sometimes you can't really be sure. So where were you while traveling and what did you endure? Post pics of the weather too if you got any.
Not abroad, but I once got stuck in an ice storm in Texas. They had freezing rain for days which ended in a 3 inch thick slab of ice covering everything. Unlike up north, Texas has no preparations for ice so you just have to wait for weather to clear it up.
We setup camp outside a Loves truck stop the first night of the storm, ''drove'' all day the next day and made it like 30 miles up the street and camped at another truck stop. These pictures are from day three when it cleared up enough for us to get moving again.
Biggest problem was our metal roof collecting and freezing the condensation from our breath, then melting and raining in the van the 3rd day.

Not abroad by me and my family were on a road trip all the way to Las Vegas. I don't remember if it was before or after we left Tucson, but we drove straight into a huge thunderstorm in the middle of the Interstate. Just kept driving lel
I kind of wish I took a picture of it, though.
