We (my gf and I, both early 30s) are staying at the Aria. Should I even bother trying to tip the check in clerk in an effort to get a complimentary upgrade? I've read that the check in line at Aria is long and slow, and then they have an online checkin system that moves much faster. We land at 12:05, and the fighter weigh ins are at 3pm, so we're going to be in a bit of a rush.

I've read that California medical marijuana users can use their recommendation in Vegas, but I've yet to read solid instructions on how to go about it. Can someone please explain the process for a california mmj patient to secure meds in Vegas?

I'm trying to anticipate how crowded the hotel will be the weekend we're there. We chose the Aria because of its coed spa facilities, but in reading some reviews, I've found that the spa facilities (especially the outdoor pool) can get crowded. We were hoping to hit up the spa on Sunday. Does Vegas draw visitors in December, or does it not matter because people show up and pack the hotels for any big UFC event?

On Saturday night, after the fights, we'd like to go out and do a bit of dancing. But I've heard the music that gets played in the big clubs on the strip and it's not what I'm into. For instance, UFC fighter Page Van Zant is hosting a party at Tao, and this is the DJ's soundcloud. https://soundcloud.com/jerzymuzik Modern rap + EDM shit is not what we're into at all. Are there any places that play pop music like Lady Gaga and Ellie Goulding?

You dont wanna play the "my life is better than yours" game with me. But thanks for the bump.

It might be different for you, but I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in December 2012 and that weekend after I graduated me and a buddy drove out to Vegas for a roadtrip. Pretty much right at the same time you'll be there.

I was shocked at how empty Vegas was in December.

I know they throw big Christmas and New Years parties but early to mid December the city was almost a ghost town.

Of course you're going for a specific event so things might be different.

Also, we were both expecting to see girls our age a fair bit, but for the most part the only people who visit Vegas at that time is old people and East Asian tourists.

You could try slipping your check in clerk some money to get a better room since the hotels will likely have a lot of empty rooms and an upgrade will be easy but usually the "complimentary" upgrades they use for this sort of thing are not spectacular. You likely won't be bumped up to a suite for example, you might get a room with a bit more floor space or a better view. It's also easier if you want to request something specific like a room with easy access to the casino floor or something.

I don't know anything about the medical marijuana question but as far as clubs go, Vegas has thousands of them. Just do a bit of searching and you'll likely find something that plays the music you want. In addition, you might be surprised just how much advertising you get exposed to in Vegas, advertising for Vegas clubs, restaurants, etc. is everywhere, and usually lists music lineups, so you'll likely see something you'd be interested in that way.

>I was shocked at how empty Vegas was in December.

Copy that, m8. Exactly what I was hoping to hear. I know UFC draws people, but we're talking about 20,000 people in a city that has 62,000 rooms on the Strip. I'm hoping most of the riffraff there for the fights will be staying at cheaper places.

>You likely won't be bumped up to a suite for example, you might get a room with a bit more floor space or a better view.

Thats what I'm hoping for. A higher room with a view. I wanna fuck my girl up against the glass overlooking the lights of the city.

Youre right about the club thing. We'll just wing it once we're out there.

I appreciate your detailed and thoughtful reply, anon.

Had to google nfr. Its actually going down in vegas the week I'm gonna be there. I went to PBR last year. It was my first pro bull riding experience and it was a blast. I found the fans to be good people.

Ausfag here, I'll be going in April to celebrate a 30th. Spending a week there to just let loose. Should I approach cab drivers for blow?

its a good week to go imo.

me and my m8s were staying in mgm (not the best ime but was hosting hotel so was busy) southern strip was particulaly busy, and me and my fellow five mid 20's bongs had plenty of fun with 'cowboy' girls and there mums (dont ask) the accent got them 3/4's of the way to the bedroom...but as your with your missus you wont be after that!

I feel like I can hear your filthy disgusting accent through the post.

Most Strip resorts are slower in Dec, but Aria's immune to that as they have a high Asian tourist contingent and that when a lot of them travel. That and Aria's lines are legendarily long anyway.

Also, checkin time IS 3pm, so unless you've arranged early checkin you're not making weigh-ins.

Really? Why is that? This is the first of read of it.

>Also, checkin time IS 3pm, so unless you've arranged early checkin you're not making weigh-ins.

It's not uncommon for rooms to be ready prior to check in. I will be able to check in and leave my bags with a bellhop and have them alert me when my room is ready.
