Considering going to Africa next year for two weeks, and Tanzania is my main focus. Good idea? Bad idea? Tell me about it please. Also looking at Mozambique as well, but open to suggestions.

>>1121637

From what I read, the coastal regions are fine. Maputo and Beira and the like. Inland is where the fighting is.
Hi,
i am going on a roadtrip from Portland, ME to Miami, FL quite soon.
What cool sites can be visited on the way?
Please no Disneyworld bullshit.
>>1121430
Universal studios
I would say check out the Appalachian trail but all the cool parts are in northern Maine-New Hampshire or Western NC-Tennessee so only check it out if you go pretty far inland as pretty much all of the Massachusetts to Maryland section is lame.
If you stop in philly you'll probably want to get a cheesesteak. Don't bother with Pat's or Geno's they're overrated. The best cheesesteaks are at Steve's prince of steaks in the northeast and Johns Roast Pork in South Philly. Also check out the Reading Terminal Market. The roast pork sandwich at Denic's is my pick for Phillys best sandwich but there's lots of other great options, a Reuben at herschels, some good Thai food, you can't really go wrong.
"Islas del Rosario" in Cartagena - Colombia.
Nice place to go, I will share some others pics.
Please do -- I get down to Cartagena every few years, but have never been out there. Would be interested.
Any tips for a first time hitchhiker traveling from Saskatchewan to British Columbia
I'm going to be driving through Sashatchewan and BC in a couple weeks on my way up to Alaska.
I'm don't have any tips to give you but a Canadian friend I have told me not to call Canadians "buddy," "guy," or "friend" (like from South Park) mockingly.
Not sure if he was just fucking with me though...
>>1121341
lol as a canadian most of us wouldnt care if you were just shooting shit but if we got the sense you were mocking us it might piss us off. Never heard a canadian call someone guy or friend before but almost every guy i know calls his friends buddy.

How many weeks
Going to do the Route 66 roadtrip in a couple of months.
I've found a shitload of info already.
Anything you guys might add.
What to see and what to avoid? Any neighbourhoods I should NOT visit?
Doing it in 21 days from Chicago to LA.
Cheers!
>route 66 in july
yeah, that isn't a terrible idea.

Stay in the Wigwam motel. There's one in CA and one in AZ. The Blue Swallow motel in NM is great too. You'll most likely need to book ahead for all of those.
Assuming you're doing the entire route, get the "turn by turn" guide book.
I'm on a solo trip in Miami beach. I'll be here for 2 weeks. I'm staying at the SoBe Hostel. I'm 19. What is there to do in the city? And anyone want to hang out? I'm dying of boredom
>>1120807
When you going? I'll be there June 5-11. Probably staying at SOBE too since some Aussie friends I met in Playa recommended it.
Also looking for fun, not horrifically priced shit to do
>>1120816
I'm leaving until June 9th
Hey /trv/, how easy is it to get a job on a farm for a few weeks/months or on a fishing boat for an expedition. Is it simply a matter of showing up and getting friendly with the locals, or are there pre requisites I need to have first. This is assuming I have permission to work in the country, of course
For the uk especially pls
Honestly, you're probably going to need some sort of qualifications or experience, at least in most of western europe.
So my boyfriend and I are both from the US.
He is currently in Germany for the next two weeks but he's been texting me every once in a while.
Are either one of us being charged since he's in Europe?
You shouldn't be charged extra over receiving domestic texting. He may be charged extra, depending on details of his wireless service plan. Who are your providers?
List of people not using the internet to communicate..... americans.
>>1120351
If cellphone works best for you, I suggest using Telegram. It's literally just texting but you can do it cross country - my bf and I do it all the time. Plus, messages are encrypted, if you're a creeper or anything lol
So are all hostels filled with annoying stoners and dudebros? I am considering booking one for my next trip because it is so cheap, but I absolutely despise that crowd. I don't travel to make friends (Unless I meet someone spontaneously ofcourse) or 2 smoke weed erryday xDD
>>1120044
Depends on the hostel and locale.
If you're going to stay at some place called The Australian Bunker on Bangkok's Khao San Road, I'd imagine the crowd there wouldn't sit well with what you're looking for. Different hotels have different vibes, as do the neighborhoods in which they're located. Consequently, you'll come across some places which are rated or regarded as "party hostels," and others which are known for having a more chilled out, family-friendly atmosphere.
>>1120044
>2 smoke weed erryday xDD
Wow you are a humongous faggot.
>>1120044
I suggest getting the most expensive hotel you can as that would eliminate all the undesirables.
Then go to the roof, tie a rope to a pipe and your neck, and jump off.
I am Japanese. And My English ability is low.

That was really cool. I hope you continue to post more videos about Japan.
>>1119575
Nice video. Strange, but interesting.
Thanks.
>>1119575
That was very relaxing. I think it was helped more by the friendly opening of you swimming. Nice video man.
What do you think of the situation in Japan where the birthrate is dropping at an accelerated rate?
Hey all, I would like to go trekking for three days in spain. I'm in barcelona now with a backpack tent etc. I have no idea where to find information on this stuff. I need to be able to get there from barcelona by train or bus. Preferably something nice by the water, mountains, or both. Thanks.
>>1118960
The Pyrenees is your obvious choice. Get a bus to Huesca and then to Jaca and go from there
>>1118963
Sorry to be so naive but where do I get a map, do I need to register somewhere to hike in Europe or do people just wander around and sleep anywhere? At least in the US it's a big deal that is.
>>1119153
Don't take everything I say as an equivalent to the laws in thr contry, but merely as what has been passed on to me by word of mouth.
In old days Spain, there were a lot of shepherds walking cross contry with their sheep, so they'd be in north in summertime and south in wintertime for their herds to feed. They were nomads travelling with up to several hundreds of sheep and goats. Because of this there was a king sometime in the last millenium who made it a law for these roads to be open for those shepherds....

Which is better and why?

Disney World is always better than Disneyland
>>1118299
Could have been a matter of opinion before they put star wars stuff out East, bit definitely World. It was built due to not being able to expand on Land
If you think about comparing your favorite band to Disney Parks, Disney World is their entire discography, while Disneyland is their Greatest Hits.
Most rides at Disney Parks are copies of ones in their other parks and although Disneyland has fewer rides and less space to work with, they tend to be the best rides and are closer together (i.e.: you don't have to walk as much in the two Disneyland Parks as much as in the four Disney World Parks).
In terms of hotels and having the sense that you are staying on an actual resort, Disney World has many more hotels...

Has anyone done the silk road trip here? i am interested in visiting Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.
I have around one month is that enough to see those countries? if not what should i focus on? any advice/insider info/etc would be welcomed
>>1118236
Not really any help but The Silk Road is something I really want to travel some time. I'd love to do the journey by bicycle ideally. One day man
>>1118236
Can't talk about the others but Uzbekistan can easily be done in like one week
This seems like a pretty cool thing to do. How do you know you're following it? Are the trails marked like those religion walks I've seen in Spain (Camino de Santiago i think it's called)?
