This is absolute garbage for all of the reasons that we have been avoiding terrible designs. There has only been to decent designs put up ever since we started to this point. I even put one up as well and it wasn't good enough. It may be a mess but our current logo follows a semblance of quality work with bad aesthetic.
Here's the problem: people think that because we are /trash/, that we are going to go with the low quality, garbage themed art.
And that's the thing, what we want is the illusion of lack-of-quality if we go that route. It must still exhibit genuine work and quality, while riding the line of what is and is not good.

Now this is the other logo that is shaping up to be something I'd be proud to use. I have my complaints, namely the lack of stand-out decisions. It's the same shape of /mlp/'s shield, the /trash/ doesn't pop or have anything to draw attention to it, and maybe the outline of the shield could use something.
But it's nice in general, the motto is perfect, the use of comic sans for "you're waifu" is cheeky and wonderful, and while the shield is a little cliche it's still a safe and workable design. Just a few steps in the right direction could make this a logo that is excellent for us.

I went back to the drawing board and switched to a different heraldic shield for a base design.
I'm still unsure what I would do to make the "/trash/" 'pop' or anything to give to the bordure without making it look like shit. I'm just moderately versed in heraldry, and not actually from /gd/.

Not stoked on the shield shape 2bh... too blocky at the top. Also what >>977883 said, the text could use a sharply contrasting outline, that'd make it pop. White is perfect for black, etc. Also, text doesn't *have* to be black, maybe fiddle around the same gold and green, like green text with gold outline on the top green part of the shield. Might give the logo some consistency? Idk. Maybe the trash can could use some fumes and other items of garbage in it/around it that don't make the whole thing look too tacky.

As for the text... I use Paint.NET. I don't actually have the tools necessary for text with an outline. You're gonna have to have someone go in with actual Photoshop or GIMP for that.
However, I'll try yellow text. Might work better.
As for the trash, I'm putting my foot down on that. Like in that video someone posted last thread, one of the tenants I'm shooting for is simplicity. I'm not going for those fancy racer brackets the original version of this logo used, I'm going for a simple chief, bordure, and fess for the base. I'm not adding more garbage or fumes as that's just going to make the logo more cluttered.
For now I'm going to dig up another shape for the shield and possibly a different font for the text. Truth be told the motto is currently in, I kid you not, italic Times New Roman, something I'm a bit ashamed of.
