First for Finnick
I like Betty, I think she a cool person.
4am dock fix?
Don't forget to do a character summary!
We'd like to hear about your characters!
Welp, new thread.
Nick is for dicks and dicks only. Prove me wrong.

I think I'm kinda scared that, since a whole buncha people are into Remmy/Betty, that weaver's gonna deliberately make it not happen, largely to be contrarian to everyone else.
>>4160236
What has been seen, cannot be unseen.

>>4160255
Eh that's fine, I rarely ship seriously. I just think they're cute no matter where the story takes them.
>>4160255
Does he have to be with anyone, realisticall? I wouldn't mind a story focused around Remmy and his day to day shit that he deals with after the fallout of Bellwether being arrested. Doesn't have to be sex or romance.
>>4160293
Yeah but sex and romance makes things a bit more interrresting. And drama too.
>>4160293
>>4160323
Too lazy for taco gif, but why not both?
Remmy deals with the aftermath of the Sheepspiracy and how it affects his relationship with his neighbors, and him dating a pred* and how that relationship would work given his past**.
*Most likely Betty or, for the crack, Avo
** Remmy had problems with jocks in high school, but was it also specifically wolves as well? I forgot.
>>4160226
Nick is for bune. Everyone knows this.
As an aside, I adore Nick's expression in this. He's realized that he is not in control of the situation - Judy is. Little bunner's taken charge. She's leading the dance... and him.
And it's messing with his head - and heart - something fierce.
Freaking love that.

How?
Welcome back, thread, I missed you
>>4160390
Only momentarily. On the other hand, looks like Japan's theatrical Zootopia run is more or less finished as of last Friday. It was 4th place at the box office last weekend, but after 12 weeks they just pulled it from almost everywhere and it's out of the top ten this weekend.
>>4160401
People just have it open and don't care, I guess.
>>4160390
Thought it was just 4chan x playing up
>>4160401

Alas, Remmy doesn't seem to be sexually interested in predators and his fight-or-flight response kicks in normally when he sees teeth and claws.
His crossed wires all appear to be dietary.
>>4160543
Unfortunately that's what Betty finds attractive.
They have a tragic romance.
>>4160543
The adrenaline rush of fight-or-flight is a very short jump from arousal. With all the familiarity he'll be getting with predators from his new home, who knows what those instincts will evolve into?
>>4160543
He's just gotta practice by hanging out with Betty. She's got that quiet domineering presence, she doesn't even have to be mean to help train him.

>>4160543
Weaver's never going to give him the face full of wolf pussy that he really needs.
It will be just too obvious and he'll feel pushed not to do it.

I like it, but Judy's just too perfect a sub for me to see her as a dom.
Like the perfect masochist.
We've not talked about Zistopia here for a bit, but I'm wonder if we've had fan ideas pop up on what predators would do in order to hide out from authorities and also connect with sympathetic prey.
Anyone else been thinking about sabotaged collars and the like?
>>4160790
Oh yeah, and it is very hot.
>>4160834
I'm not sure if there's specifically a system set up for sabotaging collars and whatnot, but if I recall NW did have some discussion about prey animals protecting their pred friends from other prey because they know the predators can't fight back.
Evergreens are a super cool idea in general though, I'd like to see that get expanded on.

The only person I've seen working with the 'Predators held in refuge by loving prey families' concept is me, and I'm almost begging other people to pick up on it because I think it's fantastic drama.
Do you write or draw yourself at all, anon?
>>4160895
The Fox and The Rabbit, actually. What the story lacks in lewd, it makes up for with great believable dialogue and setting.
My only gripe is how often it falls back on the whole "what if our relationship falls apart? I'm scared of that"

I write, yeah. You're the one who did Theirs & Ours, right? I'm not sure when I'm gonna get to it since I'm having trouble with some stuff earlier in my queue but I've been meaning to do a day in the life of /Zoocomfy/ Nick for a while now.
Mandie is the name of Ozzy's Mom but that doesn't change the fact we need a pinup
>>4160943
hmm, and the fox can be freddy
>>4160951
Yep, this is PseudoFox. I've been meaning to do a polishing of the Theirs & Hours story to make sure that there's no typos or the like, but I'm still really happy about it. I think that's either the best thing that I've written or really close.
I've got a pretty reasonable idea of what I want to do happen next story-wise, in terms of a direct sequel, but I've felt pretty uncertain about the emotional direction. I also want to do like a prequel thing that shows the actual Hopps family dicking with the collar to help Nick, but that's awkward when I think through it in my head. I suppose things are up in the air.
Good luck with your own stuff. Totally, I really want to see more people pick up on the specific 'Evergreen' concept. And generally the 'Zoocomfy' concept.

I've been feeling pretty listless since I finished COLLAR ON; I've got a list of prompts I want to work with but I've barely been able to muster the energy to do anything but post here, so it's no surprise I've hit a wall on my primary focus. I'm tackling the TT prompt to see if I can't get back in the swing of things instead of relying on a fey mood to overtake me.
My current idea for the /Zoocomfy/ story is basically an offshoot of Zistopia proper where instead of going back to Wilde Times and getting stuck there he just stays with the Hoppses as Judy continues her investigation between cases. I'm thinking it'll be sort of a slice of life thing that just follows Nick through a fairly average day of him living on their farm; helping fix a tractor, sitting down to eat with one of the groups, reading a story to a bunch of kids, spending some time with Judy after she gets home from work, that sort of thing. Maybe you could do something along those lines. If it's a direct sequel you should probably either establish more heavily why he's so comfortable there, or do something like show how precarious his situation really is.

I'm a fairly proficient amateur drawfag but I've fallen into the trap of focusing overmuch on characters to the detriment of my environment skills. Two. Cakes. Also, it's pretty rare that you'll get a direct comparison between WildeHopps stories just because they're WildeHopps. No one's gonna compare, say, Winter Snuggles to Reception Inception because they're totally different types of stories that share a pairing. Scentplay's pretty rare still and despite the pretty high chance that most of the TT stories are going to involve it in some way that doesn't mean you can't. It'd just add to an admittedly meager pile.
That said, if you've got some cool ideas for a different character that's great too. Just don't feel that you can't do something because it's been done before.

Hello. You are facing one of the biggest obstacles most artists struggle with on a daily basis. Do not wait for motivation.
You need to forget about it as it is whimsical and unreliable. Draw daily, pick up a pencil and draw till you bleed and your bones crumble, especially if you don't feel inclined draw. Gritting teeth during the process helps to overcome passivity and inertia.
It is a constant unrelenting struggle between the need to release the ideas in your head and overwhelming pressure of routine.
Tiredness, foul mood, video games or any other external circumstances are not valid excuses to skip even one day. Rest is certainly important, although as you fall in the daily drawing routine where drawing is detached from motivation, these exercises become a stable anchor point in your diary, allowing you to manage your day better and rest as well as relax during drawing sessions.
>>4161346
True.
>>4161380
No problem. Anytime.
>>4161401
Hmmmm. I will take what you said and promptly ignore it because I still don't feel like picking up a pencil and drawing. I want to draw. I just don't want to start drawing. You know what I mean?
Also, that looks like some copypasta from a book I read back in my art institute days.
>>4161416
I'm getting the same shit with my writing, Anon. It's not just writing, either, I just seem to lack the will to do anything but shitpost all day. Monster Hunter came out two days ago and I haven't even touched it. I think the NEET life is getting to me.

You know that country that has all the sheepfuckers? (It escapes me at the moment.... Scotland, maybe? The welsh?)
It occurs to me there couldn't be a a country of sheepfuckers if the sheep didn't let them do it without TOO much struggle. Do sheep consent?
>>4161245
Can you stop posting shit that's absolutely fucking disgusting?
>>4161526

>>4161416
Some answers are simple, although the saying simple things are the hardest to do certainly holds true in this instance. Usually, we would recommend a self-imposed deadline, such as participation in Thematic Thursday, although the key point here is to learn how to force yourself to draw daily without motivation, deadlines and being surrounded by distractions.
Thank you for your time.
>>4161267
There are indeed numerous guides both on general rules of sighting proportions as well as particularities of Zootopia characters, one of which is attached to this post.
Short and accurate as well as mostly useless answer is to practice.
Let get to a more detailed explanation and hopefully useful advice then. Facial features are easily misplaced, it is therefore crucial to begin any drawing with a solid construction base and basic shapes.
For some people, more rigid, almost mathematical approach by measuring character's height in the number of their heads works best and it ensures most accurate proportions. Some, however, would find it easier to find only a moddle line and tweak the size of basic shapes as they go with very small margin of error.
Irrespective of whichever way works better for you, start breaking down bodies into simple geometric figures (i.e. basic shapes) as shown in the attached guide and draw middle. A small secret to enormously accelerate acquisition of this skill is to be in the state where you constantly perceive your surroundings in such a way - look at the things around you as if you had a pencil ready and was about to draw. Deconstruct in your mind's eyes faces, surroundings and inanimated objecrs onto a set of ellipses, cubes and cones. After it becomes a habit, you will unlock enitrely new way of seeing. Supplemented by daily practice with careful perception of proportions, relations and shapes you should see significant improvement over the course of a couple of weeks.

The old joke goes that it's because the places are so mountainous. You take the sheep up to a cliff, and it keeps trying to back away from the edge, onto your cock.

Hello. Drawing is such a multifaceted skill it is difficult to improve in all areas simultaneously at a constant rates, unless the progress is arduously slow or non-existent, especially for such different areas as environmental and biological objects. It shouldn't come as a surprise most architects can't draw faces well.
Seeing the discrepancy in proficiency between different areas can and should be frustrating.
However, in a way it brings you to the beginning of your journey, which is a very humbling experience, allowing you to reflect on the progress you had made.
From the purely technical point of view Scott Robertson's "how to draw" book, supplemented by video tutorials is probably best in class to give you a good base and being proficient in the trade of drawing should make absorption of knowledge rather easy. Key areas are rules of perspective, forward planning of lines and of course imagination.
You might find it revisiting your very first studies and sketches useful - comparing them to your current work will remind you that you have the capacity to learn, vastly improve and overcome obstacles in your way.
By no means should you doubt in yourself, seeing lack of practice in one area as an indicative of your non existent ineptitude, stopping you from creating more art.
It might also help to imagine yourself as a musician who mastered the piano and wants to learn playing the violin. While being able to read the notes and knowing rules of musical composition, the required skillset for both instrument is somewhat different. The comparison is not a precise one by any measure, but hopefully gets the point across.
Thank you for your time.
>>4161557
Thanks for the advice that I get every time I open up any artist's page/tumblr etc when they get the inevitable "how did you get so good at drawing" questions.
Still haven't picked up the pencil, btw
The honest answer to 'how did you get so good?' is always some variation on 'I spent hundreds of hours being bad'. But that's not a satisfying answer to people that want to git gud by spending half an hour on some drawing exercise, so the search goes on, forever.
>>4161715
Yeah, it's always looking for that one trick which anyone who's good at something needs to have.
Because we're so trained to believe effort doesn't lead to results.
I blame montages.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vK4gv11PTI8
>>4161715
Honestly, I don't really care about getting good. I just want to draw- as a way to get all the ideas in my head out on a canvas.
But I don't have enough drive to actually pick up my tablet and stylus and draw right now. I have ideas. I know exactly where I want to go with those ideas. I can picture the picture I would be drawing so vividly.
I just don't wanna.
>>4161736
lol dude it's up to you then. You either pick up the pencil or you don't and if you can't be assed no amount of advice will change that. The wall of text you got is repeated by different people because that's how it works and there is no trick.
>>4161755
Well, then. No drawing today it is!! Thanks for the motivation to stay unmotivated!

Reminder that foxes are smelly, parasite-carrying scum and you should apologise if you are one
>>4162087
They don't smell of they shower and shampoo regularly, and don't have parasites if they get regular doctor visits.

>>4162188
Sorry
It wasn't really planned. Thread was doing those pseudo-RP arguments and I can't resist hopping int.
Otherwise, I didn't really plan to give any updates on Bun's life, but it just sorta worked out.
>>4162182
Do all of your animals look like beavers?
>>4162213
Hey, it's no problem. You do it whenever, I'll follow screencaps if I'm not around for them.

>>4162231
Fucking gay.
>>4162249

I never actually thought about that.
Which means shes probably not thought about it much.
>>4162256
Yes, more gay fucking.
>>4162216
I don't really see it since the noses aren't as large as the ones I draw on Beaver, but to each their own I guess.
Besides, Beavers and Rabbits share the same mouth design, Byron said so in the artbook. I'M JUST STAYING TRUE TO THE ZOOTOPIAN DREAM, ANON.
