I think the point people brought up a while ago is that the alter actually is looked at wrong.
The head and hands are seperate, and the hands are actually coming from the figure on the body of the alter, which has a pointed head and a long neck.

The curve on BD's gem is really noticable, but it's still mostly a table cut. Also, it could just be that each of the diamonds has slight deviation in their design rather than common gems that all have the same cut.
As for the symbol, no, every confirmed old war structure has had the 4 diamond symbol if a symbol was seen.

A bit dark, but I think they could make it work out for the show with a decent balance of cute feral child shit and horrible monster issues.

i have a lot of hopes for wave 2 of the funko pops. like, there are a bunch of characters who would be good for wave 2 (rose, greg, connie, ruby, sapphire, lapis, peridot, lion, fusions, etc.) but there's only so many they can do in a wave.
maybe they can do rose, greg, lion, and connie in wave 2 (they're the most important characters to steven aside from the other gems), and then wave 3 can be the 3 homeworld gems and yellow diamond? or maybe they could release peridot and lapis along with the first 4, since they've been redeemed already, and then wave 3 can be yellow diamond, jasper, ruby, and sapphire. or actually, put ruby and sapphire in wave 2 since they were already crystal gems, and then release the 3 homeworld gems later, when they're all redeemed and all have stars on their outfits.

Why are some folks this negative about the upcoming seemingly townie episodes? Sure if I see The New Lars I'm not very eager about that one either, but I'm kinda looking forward to a small break(after the cluster/barn adventures) before we head straight back into episodes that seem to focus more on lore/plot development. I usually have a bit of a preference for the latter too, but seriously I think having some Beach City shenanigans is going to be nice.
