Eh often times when I meet up with a friend from high school I feel similar. I've since come to the realization that its often associated with how different I've become since then and/or how little they seem to have grown as a person since we last knew each other.
Maybe you're subconsciously interpreting the little things that annoy you without realizing what specifically is annoying you. Or maybe you're just mad at yourself because you're thinking back on opinions you held during your relationship with said friend that you no longer agree with.
I guess I don't really have any advice, but meeting with them seems relatively harmless especially if reds there.

A lot of it was just fiddly technical stuff, making sure I didn't use the same word three times in two sentences, stuff like that
The big changes I focused on was originally, Nick and Judy were more hesitant in their physical contact near the beginning, and as Comicanon pointed out that made the tension ramp up too fast. Now they're a little more touchy-feely right away, with a little more focus on Nick's injuries and mentioning that he's had a little time to recover
The other big change was the scene where Judy gets freaked out by Nick's knot. The original scene was just kind of this big rushed explanation and it was honestly just kind of bad. I replaced it for a while with a scene where he gets really irritated that she's stopping to ask him about his dick but that whipped the mood around too hard, and my goal when I started was comfy smut about avoiding shock collars, so I turned it into a more tender exploratory scene.
Aside from that there were smaller changes like having Nick actually get shocked to sort of establish that it's really necessary that they slow down and be careful, originally I didn't have the heart to do it but that resulted in too much tell, not enough show. I also added a small mirroring moment that was sort of a callback to Nick saving Judy from the river, with the line "clutching her like he was drowning"
That's about it, it was pretty solid already I just needed to smooth out the tone, mostly
