Gem clothing is explicitly part of their bodies. it forms when they do and peridot confirmed in Log Date 7 15 2 that she's never even heard of clothing thaw wasn't bonded to a gem's flesh
While Pearl has never shape shifted her body and comes up with lame excuses and deflections every time she's asked, she has changed her outfit twice in ways that wouldn't be possible if she was just putting things on over it.
in Beach Party she wore a sun dress that exposed her collar and feet which were covered since her regeneration. Her collar is also exposed in her disguse as Earl in Hit The Diamond

Well this probably means more TTG and PPG on the rerun block for a while. Granted that CN promoted it to death, but those are the highest ratings they've had in a long time period. I think SU's gonna have to consistently break 1.5 million during the summer if we want to see more of it in the rerun schedule, or at least to elevate it in the eyes of CN's executives. I really hope that they promote it a ton, here's to hoping that we get a promo soon!

They're saving the dark stuff in this season for after the townie bomb, I think. Besides so many of the episode titles being really ominous, it'd be a pretty classic bait and switch to make the audience expect more lightheartedness right before they go full-on horror mode.
