When I was in the military a few years back, I had to dig myself a hole to stand in. I was then ordered to guard a road in that hole for an undecided amount of time. It was summer, and we were in the forest, so there were a fuckton of bees, wasps and mosquitos. I sat in that hole for six hours straight without matches to make a fire to smoke away the bugs (which I wouldn't have been allowed to do anyways) or repellent. I had to hunt mosquitos and wave a glove in front of my face for the entire time just to try and keep the bugs off my face. Finally, once I was allowed to get out of that hole, I was ordered to guard that road from a different spot for another hour while the rest who shared the experience with me went to eat dinner.
