All I know is that the next short may or may not involve a guerrilla warfare fox. I've never been a big fan of the super sharp snouts they use for many of the canines. Only half of these sketches look decent to me.

Nicholas Cage was good. Either way, I'm a Eurofag, and we've got that peculiar post-war "be ashamed of your heritage" kind of thing going. So glorifying history doesn't really happen a lot, here. With the exception of WWII resistance fighters, because they really play into that whole "underdog fighting against Evil" role perpetually offended people like to place themselves in.
But America revels in its own history. To someone used to a reserved culture, it looks very tacky. And because we don't do a lot of historic stuff ourselves, we get a lot of exposure to American media glorifying their own history.
I've just seen enough of pop culture American history for someone not particularly interested in it. Especially the fact that it's filtered through American perception is annoying. And it also boils down to retread after retread of the American history Americans want to glorify. So the Redcoats, the Civil War, the Boston Tea Party. I've seen it. Do more Old West stuff. That used to be popular here (Moebius famously also did Blueberry, a played-straight Western comic), and it's genuinely interesting. We're also at a point in time where we can finally not portray the Indians as either insane savages, or wise sages living as one with nature.
Old West stuff in Pups of Liberty's style? I'd watch that.
