Vinyl Scratch recognized the smell first. Her roommate was home from work, and probably had been for quite some time. The air of the apartment hung heavy with the smell of beer and rotten fruit, coming together into a sicky-sour stench produced by only one mare.
A gray blob was splayed out across the sofa, surrounded by fast food wrappers and empty beer cans. This was Octavia, Vinyl's slovenly roommate. The classical musician weighed 400 pounds, creating a permanent depression in the seat beneath her massive backside.. If Octavia was wearing panties, they'd be hidden by her rotund gut and chunky ass. A stained pink bra held back her drooping masses of breasts. In one meaty hand, she held a can of Canterweiser beer, in the other, a crumpled bag of dewritos.
"How's yer night, Vy?" Octavia slurred, sipping her beer. Her trunk-like legs were kicked out on the coffee table, socks and shoes lying in a heap on the floor near the rest of her clothes.
Vinyl bent down, picking up Octavia's discarded suit jacket. It looked like a blanket in her hands, but wrapped around the cellist's massive body, it lent her an air of dignified obesity. "Single mares night at the club is always a bore," She replied, "What about Count Blackguard's soiree?"
"Oh, y'know, normal Canterlot party. Lots of skinny mares eatin' tiny sandwiches an' crackers n' stuff," Stuffing a handful of chips in her mouth, she continued, "Jus' glad to get home 'n relax."
Vinyl headed into the kitchen to make a cup of tea, Octavia's show blaring in the background, occasionally interspersed with bursts of laughter from her slob of a roommate.
The truth was, Vinyl was never much of a party girl. She rarely drank, and never used the drugs her audience popped like candy. Out of her neon hoodie and glowstick necklace, Vinyl Scratch was just a normal, rather straightlaced mare.

Likewise, Octavia's appearance as a stuffy, uptight musician was just a facade. If the Canterlot elite knew about her love of cheap beer and trashy TV, she'd likely never play in that city again. Perhaps, Vinyl sometimes thought, they really believed she gained so much weight from cucumber sandwiches and teacakes?
Vinyl filled her kettle from the sink, plugged it in, and went to the pantry in search of teabags. A stack of brightly colored boxes sat in the corner, hemmed in by boxes of beer and cans of Octavia's favorite ravioli. She never understood why Octavia loved that stuff so much. It wasn't like she couldn't afford to eat out. But then again, if you placed a meal in front of that enormous mare, it'd be lucky if it lasted five minutes.
"Oi, Vy!" Octavia shouted, "Bring me some crisps while you're up, yeah?"
"Certainly," Vinyl replied, grabbing a bag from the pile on the bottom shelf, and a teabag from her favorite box. In a minute, she had poured her tea, handing Octavia her snacks as she passed. The fat mare dug into them with luster, tearing open the bag and devouring a handful in just a moment. Orange crumbs sprinkled down her breasts and belly, some trapped in her cleavage, others rolling down and settling in her folds.
Vinyl took her seat on her favorite armchair, setting her tea on the coffee table near an empty Burger Princess container. Crossing her legs, she sipped her tea, sighing as the bitter flavor filled her mouth. Glancing at Octavia, she saw the obese mare playing with her belly, one finger knuckle-deep in her belly button. Vinyl smiled at her roommate's drunken antics. "You goof," Vinyl said, reaching over to smack the mare's thunderous thigh, sending it jiggling and causing Octavia to crack up, laughing and snorting, as Vinyl chuckled in her own reserved way.

Until somepony decided to cut her off or honk their horn at her. Then she was liable to ride up in front, and let loose with her ass.
She blew off a lot of steam like that. So when Thunderlane heard Gilda's stomping footsteps heading towards the kitchen, he knew what was coming. Scrubbing a last dish and shutting off the water, he turned to the doorway to face his fate.
Gilda stood there, in her 8'5", 1300 lb glory. She was wearing nothing but pants and a shirt, having taken off her jacket earlier to look. Sweat stains were evident, emanating from her pits and breasts and streaking down the off-white fabric.
"Thunderlane," She growled, taking a plodding step forward, "I need my keys."

It was times like these that he both loved being her roommate.

I have a couple of issues with it, but I'm not going to give you an itemized list. Instead I'll just go over my three biggest issues.
1) How did Rainbow get so fat? There's no explanation here. Also, how fat is she? Maybe a description of her size wouldn't go amiss earlier in the story.
2) There's no sense of weight to her. Sure she's big, but you don't portray the struggle being that sort of weight would cause.
3) Rainbow doesn't really feel like Rainbow in terms of her characterization. If you want to highlight how her personality has changed since she's gotten big, that's fine, but you need to have her acknowledge in some ways that she's changed.

Also, there's a lot of telling over showing. So for example when she feels drowsy, you just tell us she is. Instead you should be showing us by describing how her eyelids are heavy, how she was struggling to keep them open, etc. That's one example, but there are plenty more of those throughout the story. You need to build us a picture with your words, not tell us what's happening and leave our imaginations to fill the gaps.
I'm working on a fat pony story with a hefty (kek) emphasis on footplay. I know that's not everyone's thing, so I thought I'd ask whether I should post the whole thing, or link it instead.
