The game would've been much worse if the delay didnt happen, but based on my view, it's no different than how Miyamoto wanted it. In fact the image in >>3053532 points that out, Miyamoto wanted Zero to be one of those casual fuckfest type of games that you can complete in a short period, but not only that every single level was available that you could choose at any time, and guess what the final game is that, you just have to "unlock" the stages, from there you can just select whatever damn level you wish.
Arcade mode just feels like it was just slapped in to appeal to those who wanted branching paths, much like Splatoons Single Player feels like it was just slapped in there.

A part of me thinks that this is the last SF game. This sucks because I would like to see the series evolve. A Star Fox game that continues the story from Assault, using Assaults style of gameplay, no forced motion controls, and an online vs mode. That would've been so much better than what we got.

The problem with Star Fox Zero is that they tried to re-created everything that people loved back in the 1990s, without considering why it was popular back then. Many of the things that we consider "quaint" about Star Fox 64 were actually cutting edge back when it came out. For example, it wasn't the cheesiness of the dialogue that made it memorable, but the fact that a cartridge game even had voiced dialogue that made it memorable. Just re-creating Star Fox 64 in today's market isn't enough because people's standards have changed, and Nintendo did a poor job of judging which things about Star Fox actually have staying power.
If you look at the Doom reboot, it's clear that the people making it had a much better sense of awareness for what kind of fandom the series has accumulated over the years, and what things about doom have remained relevant over the years.
For example, doom was a very fast game for when it came out, but compared to a modern game it was actually very slow, but people none the less think of Doom as being a very fast game, so that's what they made. They had to quintessentially boil down what Doom means to people in the modern era and hammer down all the elements that make it an iconic IP, and the end result is a fast and brutal game that's clearly set apart from something like Call of Duty.
Star Fox Zero failed to nail down the fundamentals. The things that make it a star fox game are mostly superficial, because they're all lifted directly from Star Fox 64. The fundamental gamplay mechanics are broken and will not please old fans or attract new ones. It was overly ambitious in the one place it didn't need to be (controls) and had no ambition anywhere else.
When I think of Star Fox I think of fast gameplay, tight controls, and furries in space. Star Fox Zero only had the furries in space part, and even that was handled with somewhat underwhelming execution.

So, pretty much like Golden Eye Reloaded, Activision somehow fucked that up when trying to recreate Goldeneye 007 after the clusterfuck issues there was when neo-rare supposedly tried getting the game on XBLA. Anyway, back to Star Fox. There's always been one thing I've always been curious about but never gotten a straight answer for: why do people hate Krystal? The answers always seem kind of vague and I'm half convinced it's because more people want their FoxXFalco fanfictions unbroken

Well the thing is that the games she appeared in (Adventures, Assault, and Command) were all very polarizing.But three games ending up how they did wasn't actually her fault, she's just an easy target.
If the games she appeared in were exactly like 64 back in the day, then she wouldn't get half as much hate as she does. But they weren't so it's just easier to look at the character added into the series around the same time from Adventures and blame her instead of odd game design choices.
It's kinda like how the Sonic fanbase shat on all the new friends because they didn't play like Sonic with a different skin, with the exception of SA2 Shadow (He didn't really become a joke until he got his own game) and Blaze because their gameplay was like Sonic's but with little changes here and there.
But, Like Lost World did for Sonic friends, SFZero proved that Krystal wasn't actually the problem with the games.
I mean, you have shipping reasons too. But the above is one of the main reasons

One reason I see that's common with the Krystal hate is that she literally brought nothing to the team other than being the telepath and the girl. People don't seem to like magic in a setting where there wasn't any magic before, and being the girl with piloting skills with no explanation makes her an easy target for haters.
Personally, I would have Krystal stay as the bridge co-operator and being the mission debriefer after the events of Adventures. That way she's stays out of the cockpit, but she's still there to take a cock.

Krystal was established as knowing how to fly in Star Fox Adventures.
In one of the ideas I had for a Star Fox TV show, I had an an explanation for how Krystal knows how to fly an Arwing. Fox basically goes into a coma after he experiences a psychic attack from Andross, and Krystal basically has to dive into his mind to guide him back to consciousness. She sees parts of his past and through the experience, some of Fox's piloting skills end up imprinting on her. It also sparks an emotional bond between them that eventually leads to love.

This is a 3D-printed Krystal, although as is usually the case with 3D prints the resolution is somewhat of an issue, and also the paint job could be a lot better.
For a really long time I've wanted to get into sculpting and resin casting, but sculpting is a fairly intense discipline. I'm good enough at it for modifying Warhammer models but my attempts at original creations using Sculpey have only been to moderate effect. I think that for me, a better option might be to model stuff in 3D and then clean up a 3D print using putty and / or clay as my master investment.

My brothers and I played Assault a lot back in the day. Here are the multiplayer stats for each character in this order (from left to right): Character - Health - Speed - Jump - Pilot - Landmaster - Weapon - Special Ability

The numbers = how many stars they have in that area of stats, Special Abilities are character exclusive, Barrier Possession means you'll always respawn with two barriers, and Charge Speed means how fast your default blaster will charge up. Anyway, Krystal has the advantage when it comes to on-foot firefights. Wolf has the most health, and he's the fastest character in the game. When flying, Wolf is only good in his Wolfen, but when he jumps in an Arwing, his crosshair is reduced to Slippy... for Falco it's vice-versa.
