I'd be lying if I said not really, I keep forgetting that I have large Zoroark and Blaziken folders, and own the Figuarts of the latter's mega as well as one of Lucario. If I'm playing any Pokemon vidya a lot in a given time I usually check through my folders of them and then forget about them after that.
Otherwise? The odd furshit every now and then isn't bad but scalies I think are much more consistent.
At the moment I'm still pretty big on MH but goddamn, good Zinogre art is a rarity considering barely anybody can draw its reptilian features, and much of the male art is bara shit. And nobody can decide the amount of scales or fur that Nargacuga have.

Pretty much all the veteran monsters felt a bit lackluster. If they're coming back for 5th gen they need to remove a lot of overlap, like how a lot of wyverns for example share sudden tailwhips that are done twice in succession, as well as hip checks. Compare them to later monsters who have some more 'fresh' moves that also look more fluid.
5th or 6th gen MH should really focus on some decloning

5th gen needs to focus in general, really. Since Tri, they haven't taken more than a couple of steps in any particular direction, first having swimming ill-received (which had very little actually wrong with it, but capcom failed to pick up on between Tri and 3U), then 4th gen trying ground-based vertical combat and ending up with annoying map design and their new mechanics being overpowered, then X basically just upending the table in a "fuck it" move and throttling up on the cuh-rayzee with hunter and monster movements and throwing down nostalgia cards to boot. I just want them to get their shit together for 5 for all the things they've been experimenting with for the past half-decade, preferably leaving the more ridiculous stuff at the door or in a spinoff.

Swimming just doesn't really work too well on a handheld but was more manageable on a home system with a bigger screen and better sticks.
Arts/specials definitely need to go, some parts of the styles mechanic sound kind of alright, but Aerial and Adept are flatout ridiculous. Subtle moveset changes could work (like with the Lancer finishers), but not really in its current state.

I never personally struggled with underwater on 3DS, even just using the touchscreen d-pad, but that's neither here nor there.
I agree about weapon arts, my biggest beef with them are just how incredibly half-baked they turned out. A disgustingly large portion of them are either just one-button combos or "power up for X seconds!" The only redeeming thing about styles in my eyes is that adept finally gave a reason for more guard-oriented play for lance and gunlance, but also meant you didn't even have to invest in guard skills for them (and let's not forget the free panic-dive-with-counter everything else gets).
And something about prowler mode just bugs me on a fundamental level, probably partially due to it being "I'm desperately trying to get my friend to play this game and like it" mode, which was even admitted by capcom.
I've been playing Flight Rising.
Strangely, I have no drive to lewd the FR dragons. Not the Spirals, not the Tundras, certainly not the Fae...

Medium Bowguns were really more like Light Bowguns were before Tri. It was really an excuse to try out new ideas for what light bowguns should be.
It was pretty good overall and I wouldn't mind seeing at back as long as they fix folding frames. Any bowgun with a folding frame did the full much longer heavy bowgun draw/sheath animations regardless of weight, whereas any bowgun with a static frame did not.
Range modification was the really cool part, though. not just because there were parts that gave you longer range and effective range with weapons, but because you could also take advantage of shortening the range. The distance in between the 'hits' from pierce shots was ALSO increased or reduced by the range modifiers, so minimum range pierce guns could put all of the hits into one hitbox on monsters that you otherwise wouldn't be able to. It was cool.
You could also do weird stuff like heavy bowguns with rapid fire and the like
