Thanks clunk, that really means a lot to me; though your scenery is amazingly solid in it's economy and conveyance, I especially like Journal from Intake when it establishes the docks at the edge of town just beautifully. Then it naturally closes with some more great emotional and character development on both fronts.

Most line cooks--yes even chefs--who've never actually done the job in a professional capacity start as dishwashers, then are promoted to prep, then to salads/deserts, then friers, then up to the main window (sautee/grill/etc.). Suck it up and start washing dishes, then you'll make your way up.

Honestly, that's from writing the smut. Physicality leads to you describing a lot of motion and mental state, which I'm realizing is probably also the basis for my weightiness in my dialogue. Also great for practice on imbuing characters with agency is fight scenes, which have the bonus for me of keeping dialogue brief due to circumstance.
And then greentexting is just fun in spare time and helps me work on short but punchy lines.
