Here's a thought.
What must it be like to be the one ram on the force that WASN'T part of Bellwether's posse? I mean she had a bunch of dirty cops backing her, but that's gotta look bad for every sheep on the force.

Fuck.
So hey. Kinda interested in the Zistopia AU that was brought up last thread, but for some unknown reason, tumblr is a little bitch on my phone. Don't suppose anyone knows where there might be an offsite collection or mirror of what's been made?

Honestly, speaking from (very painful) personal experience?
Poor ram's fucked. Unless he did something we don't know about to distinguish himself as 'definitely NOT one of Them' when shit hit the fan, it doesn't matter if he was in on it or as oblivious as a rock - everyone else'll hold him as dirty, simply by association, because he's 'one of Them'.
His best hope, short of early separation, is hoping for a transfer to a new city and keeping his head down. Staying on the ZPD, though? His career is probably over, and every friendship he ever had is now in question, even after IA does their investigation and clears his name.
Shitty, but that's how life is sometimes

A few days ago redrawing panels from the comic seemed to be the meme du jour, here's my crack at it.
At the risk of coming off as a circlejerking faggot I have to say the amount of subtlety of body language and emotion Weaver manages to convey with his simple lines is astounding. It's really hard to capture when doing in your own style.

Something that I can't quite put my finger on seems odd about the Nick's head/neck in the first panel. Besides that very nice redraw! I like that you managed to fit in more of the background bit/ the steering wheel that weaver left out.
>>2379356
Two cakes!
Some constructive criticism if I may, tho - one thing I saw in Weaver's original that made the middle panel just, well, incredibly sexy was that Judy's eyes looked like they were pretty much rolling back in her head; your detail is hot, but maybe lift her irises a bit more? Maybe cut the pupils in half, give her that 'losing her mind' look.
Otherwise, dammitall good sir or madam, this is some fine tasty cake.
>>2379522
>>2379522
I'm so fucking hyped for this
>tfw already has plans to draw a zystopia where prey are the one's marginalized while preds rule
>tfw Weaver just did one/beats you to it.
Fug.
Anyway, here is my take on the pred/prey role reversal of Zys. The biggest difference is that collars are not used on prey's unlike in the normal Zys. Instead the preds use shock ear tags, stamped on the ears of prey's. This serve three purpose, it can be easily seen by anyone and is handy to identify who is the individual by the serial number tagged on their ear, thus marking the prey as a prey species easily. Two it reminds them of their role in the grand scheme of life and that they are nothing more than cattle or something like that. Three, it shocks any prey who tries to go beyond the zone where they are stationed/allocated in, thus most zootopian prey are confined in the city. Judy is one of the few rare cases that is able to travel since she is an officer and has little more lee way than the other prey who are allotted to tedious and repetitive tasks etc etc I need to go to sleep.

>>2379607
Before the current events, they are food source, not to mention being cheap manual labor. Damn they are slaves for a lack of a better term. It is only recently where more "liberal" predators has given more rights to preys. This started when some desperate predator president wants more votes and allowed preys to vote. To win the preys vote of course he gives them rights. It manifested first with the ''Hide your prize" law, in where preds cannot eat preys in public, then jumps to the most recent in where killing/eating prey species are illegal(unless the prey consents), and that prey's are only to be processed for consumption when they died naturally/in an accident.
Basically all prey are recycled, dead prey are processed and turned to food and a lot of prey species find that more comforting than being hunted. Besides Nick does not like hunting his jerky.
On the subject of Nick, I kind of imagined that Nick, not being bullied when he is child is able to get his dream job and is now a ZPD detective under Vice. After years of being there he has basically become a corrupt cop, along with a fox partner too who is also corrupt. Nick and his partner dont view the recruitment of a prey to the police force that lightly and is basically a jerk to Judy.
The same plot happens in where a preds goes feral because of Night-howlers because someone is shooting them with NH pellets. The twist is that it is not Bell but a new antagonist who view the modern predators as too soft on prey and that the prey population is booming and this booming population of prey will over run the preds in his theory thus he wants to make the preds strong again and realize their true task and control preys(through eating them etc). Basically a crazy sociologist. I am kind of basing the antagonist on that British scientist guy who dont give food on the starving irish after the potato plague, saying that it is natural to cull the irish or something. Yeah that is pretty messed up.

I don't agree with Anon entirely about "rolling her eyes back," but Weaver's original panel also framed her face a little more plainly between his thighs. Her eyes eyelids were also at differing droops, like she was really relaxed but aroused at feeling him squirm on her tongue.
But it's close! It really is! Maybe if you did an edit, her right eyelid would be a little higher than the left, with her irises a little less in focus? Sort of in a haze?
Shit, I'm sorry, man. I don't have a frame of reference in art, just some directions.

I used to play Warframe with 2 friends. It was fun for a while but then I hit a point where I was forced to repeat a particular mission over and over until it dropped what I needed. That was were it lost its charm but for a free-to-play game, and a few friends, I had my share of "fun".
>>2381374
>>2381469
I tried warframe due to pressure from my friends, but I just couldn't get into it... Also never liked CS:GO until I actually tried to get into it, and I like it a bit. Also, I may seem autistic for saying this...but why do people like GTA 5? It's horrid compared to the older games... (To me) and it frustrates me how it's so...online. I just want to shoot people in peace. And the controls and way the feeling of the game sucks overall to me.

This, honestly.
If you had like 10 people you know to play with, it could be good. But even if there is one random guy in the lobby, he will probably end up making everyone else's life miserable.
That game is the reason I never got into random dungeons back when I played WoW, except turbocharged to the extreme.

"The Visit" 3k words, short and fun, don't have much else to say
"Zootopia Drabbles" 75k words, a few mini arcs,
mostly short slices of life, some cute, some slightly sad, it was worth the time
seems to still be ongoing but since it was mostly a collection of short stuff i read it anyway
"Interspecies Trouble" 80k words, a few typos, several times using "then" when it was "than",
a few characterization that i found out of place but that's just personal, a sub plot about 2 rookies that really went nowhere.
it is also first person narrative with judy and nick pov i did found it a bit repetitive plus i got blue balled.

"Interspecies Trouble" was terrible. The language was broken and nonsensical, like the first draft of a 7th grader's first fiction writing.
The author is fedora/10. here is an excerpt from his bio:
>"The world frowns upon what I am, and who I am. thus, the internet is my solitude. physically 21 years old, 6ft 2in. my senses are better then yours and you would not last long in my presence. I deem very few worthy of my time, and especially fewer worthy of my presence."

You'll notice some side notes about
>All sessions have thus far been free as part of a "Rehabilitation Initiative" from mayor Lionheart"
and
>(Make a note to look into collar withdrawal studies)
But also a lot that implies Nick was in close contact with his family for awhile.
It's a little experimental, but I'm trying to tell the world and explores Nick's character just with these therapy sessions.
We already establish collars, we also establish how they might have mentally affected him, how that plays with his father.
How he's met Judy briefly, but the case kept going on, but is still wary of police officers. How his collar made him lie about how he feels and the true feelings that lying cause him, how that relates to his dad
I'm also hoping that all of this is conveying the fact that Lionheart was just recently put into office and removed the collars, and the civility between Nick and the therapist shows how the attitudes weren't all just outright hate towards predators
Like I'm saying, it's a bit experimental, but it's been a really fun exercise thus far
>>2383268
i'll give it to you, anon. i do think it was broken but i could make sense out of it mostly because, how should i put it, i guess i learn to read broken english due my english being broken for quite some time(it still is in many places).
i assume it bothers me way less because i take what the author wrote translate it in my mind and then i can make sense of of it, i get what the author was aiming but can see that he failed on writing something cohesive
still i'm not going to completly dismiss the work, the author put some effort into it and he should aim to get better
>>2383198

What would you like to see in this regard? I'm only mentioning his physical changes and appearances when they are important to the therapist. Like how he fills silences with jokes, or seems more at ease when he's well dressed. These are important about "what's going on".
Or do you mean lore wise?

Really liking it. The sessions all seem quite similar though, with "Nick makes a joke, gets nervous, leaves". While I feel that constant display of anxiety on Nick's part establishes him in this AU, a little more variety/behavioral change would be welcome. As of right now Nick seems near-constantly anxious/dysfunctional (unless that is what you're going for, in which case good job. I'm assuming these appointments are the only place we would be seeing Nick's issues)
I can see what you're trying to do with the development (Mention of Lionheart's rehabilitation initiative, meeting Judy, etc.), it just feels like it is moving a bit slowly in that regard (Not really a complaint, I'd rather have it proceed too slowly than too fast, I can appreciate that finding a proper balance would be difficult)
Overall I'm impressed with your work so far, and look forward to you future additions.
>>2383626
>(unless that is what you're going for, in which case good job. I'm assuming these appointments are the only place we would be seeing Nick's issues)
Earlier sessions, yes. The timeframe between when the collars were removed versus when Nick went to see a therapist is short. I mentioned earlier he's dealing with YEARS of backed up emotions right now.
My longterm goal is for him to relax more through the sessions and his character development, but early on, he's got like 30 years of backed up anger, anxiety etc. Being unable to express that in a healthy way is bound to fuck someone up.
> The sessions all seem quite similar though, with "Nick makes a joke, gets nervous, leaves"
You're right...I'll spice that up a little more, or at least keep it varied. But I totally see what you mean.
>(Not really a complaint, I'd rather have it proceed too slowly than too fast, I can appreciate that finding a proper balance would be difficult)
From a storytelling point of view, yeah. These are here to give context and set the mood, but at the same time I have to balance the realism of what a therapist does to what story I want to tell.
It's really challenging but super fun at the same time!
>Overall I'm impressed with your work so far, and look forward to you future additions.

I feel you. I mentioned a few things, but I think weekly gaps are pretty big, so you're right
>the movie events didn't occurre here at all, besides he being asked obut the otter ?
Well, I'll let you find out where that goes...Because it might
>or the things just didn't came up/were found important by the therapist ?
Possible. Therapists really just take what the subject says. It's amazing how little talking they actually do with you. If the subject brings it up, the therapist asks for them to explain

Okay. That's adorable.
Especially love Judy holding her fluffy faux foxtail. If you drew that, awesome. If you just found that, still cool.
>>2383937
Nah, credit goes to S-Dash. Does cool things for another general and has more than a passing interest in Zootopia it seems.
>>2384004
Ah, good to know. Might have to look up this S-Dash if the rest of the art is on par. Cheers.

then i have to point out that you may need to make a mention of the events of that week even if just in passing or rework your timeline because from the week he mentions meeting judy to the next one were he says he's back hustling this wouldn't really make sense
so far what you have written does not play well if you really plan to take the movie events/timeline in consideration
guess i'll really need to wait for the next part to tell

hey folks
a few people have requested a version of The Late Stake without the dialog bubbles (so the underlying characters are easier to see and unobscured), so here's that
there's one about halfway through that, unfortunately, I ended up flattening and saving by mistake, so it's got white voids on it unless I redraw the normally-covered action
but otherwise this is the high visibility version

>I...I just like the porn and the community D:
Anon, nooooooooooooooooooooooo.

>>2384186
It's amazing how even after removing the dialogue you still get across a lot of the tone, action, and passion.
>>2384171
I'm basically just sitting here all day every day waiting for shit to update while I'm between jobs. It's maddening.
>>2384186
I appreciate the raw art, Weaver. Being able to "read" the characters without dialogue is really super!
Nick's face in panel 6 is especially clear. He's shocked this is happening. Delighted, but shocked.
Just absolutely jerking back into the seat in panel 8 is ... relatable.

BUT CAN I SAY "TWO CAKES"
TWO CAKES
FANDOM IS NOT A ZERO SUM GAME AND WE ARE GETTING SO MANY CAKES RIGHT NOW
Speaking of TWO CAKES - image related! Great job, Weaver!

It's like you don't even want two cakes.

The only experience I have in art is a college class I took very halfheartedly. Zootopia 2 would probably be ready to come out by the time I got anywhere good enough to post anything. Honestly, if anything, it'd be writing that I'd do.

Could git good at it in time for Zootopia 2 and pull a full Weaver drawing/writing combo.

I want this so badly dude, you have no idea.
>>2384267
I'm the opposite, I love the art and stories that the community puts out, and I'm not a fan of the porn, man. Not that it's bad that you're into it, to each their own and all. But I mean like, dude, how could you not appreciate the normal art?
Anyone have zistopia link for whats so far done?

Yes and no....It's an alternate timeline really. But it's going to have events from the canon.

Zistopia is fucking sweet but holy god I'm so tired of the shipping. It's so forced
>>2384372
> tired of the shipping
You know, that's fair. I keep going back and forth on it.
In a world that segregated, it may take something as basic as physical or romantic interest to realize this other person's worth it. It may take something that basic to pivot civil rights on.
I don't know, man. I like the shipping. I really do. I'm still hoping we see more of the mystery surrounding the savage incidents now that Judy's on the "real" case.
>>2384372

It's not that I hate shipping. I personally don't care for it in 90% of cases (I don't even give a shit about in Zootopia), but in Zistopia it's so very shoehorned in there because the author likes it.
I'll say what other anons have said in that when they were at odds they made good characters. They didn't like one-another but through the plot (You know, what it's supposed to be about) they came to understand the differences of each other. It accomplished a lot of the civil rights themes simply with that, not by forcing Judy and Nick into an inter-species relationship to satisfy the author. The characters were just beginning to get so fleshed out before they do 180's and "fall in lubbbbbbbb"
It's not organic. It really doesn't even feel close to their fictional dirivitive characters. It feels forced.
>>2384417
>Browsing /trash/ at work

>>2384372
I don't mind the shipping but I'm basically a huge fag who can't get enough of it elsewhere so I'm pretty biased
>>2384372
I don't mind the shipping if it isn't FORCED. "Oh he saved me I am getting hot for him now" is the most cliched trope in the book, and the way this comic is going, it's heading for it HARD.
>>2384450
>do 180's and fall in lubbbb
Given how cynical they both need to be to function, I'm not convinced they're doing a 180 as much as getting closer than they could with people in their home communities ad the walls come down. The chemistry is ramping up more quickly than I'd expect, but it's not "forced." It feels more like "desperately clinging to that first thing you've felt in ... ages."
I'm growing increasingly convinced the author sees how they could be really bad news for each other even in the best circumstance. As Judy mentions in the latest update if even WORD gets out, they may both lose their social standing. She's almost certainly going to lose her job.
My guess is they're going to be together, but it'll mean leaving the city and probably losing any direct influence on the Tame Collar program or what's going on among Predator and Prey in the metro area. They're going to be a laughingstock.
They won't care because, well, there's no getting around what and who you love. It just means the world is going to lose one great shot at ending the apartheid state all because people hate interspecies/pan/preyo-/predosexual couples.
I'm genuinely curious how this is going to end in anything but a tragedy for everyone else.
/co/'s hotpockets are censoring the mere mention of specific r34, as well as things like pic related.
>>2384525
seems normal then

If the shipping is forced anywhere it's from Nick's side. It was established early on that preds get Judy hot. This isn't news. Nick legit falling head over heels for her is.

I'm going to give it "to the count of ten" on explaining just where he is in self-denial. I won't discount that he may be pansexual but buried WAY down deep given his upbringing in Happytown.
There was a scandal over a pretty ungulate girl kissing him out of enthusiasm for desegregation ending. The happiest day there could be for Predators and everyone glared. Just for a kiss.
In some ways, I think Nick has more to lose by being out 'preyosexual' at all. If he even dates her, he's a 'race traitor.' Predators as a class are dying by design and he's sleeping with a cop? A shock troop for the system that's killing them?
Sure, he LIKES her. He may be sexually attracted to her. Committing to ANYTHING with her?
Well, shit, that may be harder.
>>2384510
>I don't mind the shipping if it isn't FORCED. "Oh he saved me I am getting hot for him now" is the most cliched trope in the book, and the way this comic is going, it's heading for it HARD.
Yep.
That's how I feel too man.
>>2384521
But I mean, that's just desperation, you know? I see how he threw in that little flashback with mom and dad and then did "JUDDDDYYY" to really cement Nick's feelings, but seriously, that was forced as hell and that moment was there for the reader to see, not the characters to feel.
>I'm growing increasingly convinced the author sees how they could be really bad news for each other even in the best circumstance. As Judy mentions in the latest update if even WORD gets out, they may both lose their social standing. She's almost certainly going to lose her job.
This is probably going to happen unfortunately. That or she just loses all feelings for him (or has none to begin with). Gratitude for being saved shouldn't translate into romance, it's a tired trope.
>>2384574
Same. I never saw any of that, other than Judy getting teased by her bitch sister (probably just to be a bitch) with baseless allegations.

Just link him here, or at least let him know people are actually dissecting and debating over his comic. I'm sure as a creator he'll feel a sense of accomplishment. Might skim through and read some of what we've been saying
I'm almost tempted to make a Tumblr just to tell him (not that the shipping is annoying, but that we all like his comic so much).
>>2384574
Not gonna screenie the whole thing but it's the comic where Jillian sends the kid over to Judy to ask if she's a predophile. Then, later, a member of her squad says that there's rumors she's a preddo.
>>2384372
Spellcheck:
Line 76, "rapd" should be rapid
Incredibly solid, anon. I like how you kept his nervous tics consistent. Nice detail. And that fifth session cut deep.
The only minor complaint I have would be that the part where they're talking about "the hustle."
I understand what's happening and the purpose of it, but it just reads a little awkward. It also seems strange that Nick would be basically implying to his shrink that he's doing something illegal.
>>2384621
Jokes on them, the other one is a dough covered balloon.
>>2384574
http://nicolaswildes.tumblr.com/post/141142300015/zistopia-au-05-closeted-pansexual-judy-hopps
Update 5 "hints" most of the Burrow knows she's probably pansexual ("predosexual"). They're comfortable enough propping up a kid to ask the "innocent" question. Judy's deep, deep in denial about it, though maybe not entirely to herself.
The tags suggest she's had erotica in her home office, and the whole family knows. They just Know.
The author has gone on to explain in Asks they're both in various states of denial, Nick moreso than Judy. Given how they're also transparently a Wildehopps fan in other asks that may not be a fun source, but it's there.
>>2384322
>I want this so badly dude, you have no idea.
It did really well in the box office. The voice actress for Judy really wants to do another one too. Fingers crossed.

Not the guy you're talking to, but the "she can't prove a damn thing" is a plausibly deniable way to say she really is a predophile.
>>2384595
The cop thing you've got a point on, but nobody really seems to mind the idea of Nick fucking prey, possibly because collar issues are a fact of life for them and it just makes sense to try to avoid it if possible.
>>2384574
gotta read the canon posts anon, she has a chomper magazine
Question is, how will Nick react when he finds out? Will he be okay with it, or will he be disgusted.
>"Oh, you only listen to me because you want me to be your plaything, is that it?"
