Tulpa Thread
Previous: >>2234234

>What are tulpas?
A tulpa is an entity created in the mind, acting independently of, and parallel to your own consciousness. They are able to think, and have their own free will, emotions, and memories. In short, a tulpa is like a sentient person living in your head, separate from you.

Apparently meditation can help with creating a tulpa, what's the best kind of meditation you guys recommend?
>>
>>2306280
>what's the best kind of meditation you guys recommend?

You're asking for extremely specific information. Nobody's going to be able to give you that.

For starters, most people here who actually have tulpas are naturals (aka autistic furries), and didn't need to meditate. The people who aren't, and who did, don't hang around places like this. But even if they did, even they wouldn't be able to answer your question because it's so specific to you.

If you want to try meditation, try it. Experiment.

>Hey guys. Can you tell me how exactly to do X?

More often than not, nobody's going to be able to answer those kinds of questions.

Here's a question you can answer for me, though. How did you get directed to these threads?

Meditation in general is a very personal thing. The important part is that whatever you're doing becomes easy and second nature, as reflexive and thoughtless as breathing. In fact, deep breathing can be good for meditation. Chanting (the words you use are relatively meaningless, you could use a prayer, the names of pokemon, a spell, rap lyrics, a haiku, the digits of pi) is a pretty good way to regulate your breathing and help focus, just so long as what you're chanting is memorized and reflexive. Some people clean, others exercise or dance, whatever it is as long as you can empty your mind and you don't have to sit and think about whatever you're doing for meditation. This is a basic form of meditation. Once you have a handle on it and do it regularly you may notice your thoughts being clearer and your emotions calmer in general (but especially so after meditating).

Creative meditation would probably be best as an aide to creating tulpas, but you should still get basic meditation down. Creative meditation is generally best done with whatever creation medium you're most comfortable with, drawing, writing, sculpting, etc. Though in the case of creating a tulpa you'd be focusing this inward so you can go a little wild with it. Do so.

Overall, while you can meditate while creating a tulpa, the two are technically separate. You can sync them after some practice though and it can make for some damn good thoughtforms. Meditate in general, it will help you to get better control over your mind and allow you to better do pretty much anything that requires mental acuity and concentration, including making a tulpa.

This has been the half-asleep delirium fueled ramblings of an autistic agnostic magician and casual philosopher. Take them or leave them. Good night /trash/, and blessed be.

Just because you can't believe in anything other than your own tiny dick doesn't mean other people don't have spiritual beliefs. The fact that literally every culture has some sort of spiritual belief that until humanity abandoned "magic" for the sake of science leads me to believe that there's something to these beliefs. "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." It seems to me that we as a species forgot that it works the other way around as well. There's a reason despite scientific breakthroughs mysticism is still strong, even in countries where technology is the most advanced. Seriously, China and Japan have made some of the biggest breakthroughs in modern technology and science and yet even their strongest scientific minds still give some credence to mysticism, luck, and prayers.

>>2324167
Everyone has linguistic habits, and if you think in your own voice you tend to type in it as well. This habit of insulting anyone who doesn't use fully proper English is kind of annoying in my opinion. If you can't structure your writing so others can understand it that's one thing, but a few linguistic habits showing in your writing is perfectly fine if everyone understands the meaning.

You actually cared to make a small text just to reply random anons on 4chan? Wow. I'm amazed.
Under normal circumstances, I'd just post some "u mad" image and go away.

Your belief in witchcraft, as far as I can tell, is as much as a valid belief as it is to think it's bullshit, perhaps an even something worth a short laugh.
My point? The same that made that anon criticize your beliefs, and the same that made you reply to it. Replying to a random person, just because.
>>
>>2324459
Well it's one thing to criticize someone's beliefs in a respectful manner, quite another to insult them because of those beliefs.

And yes, I do care too much. Because despite being outside of my monkeysphere you are all still people.
>>

There's also new books and a ton of other people involved in this stuff today still. Honestly, it's not something you can measure with technology as it is today, but I know it sure as hell proved itself to me when one of my first teachers made it snow in july, despite the weather channel still saying it was 90 degrees and clear skies all day.

Though I hear technology is making progress. Supposedly they figured out how to take a picture of your soul, though it might just be photographing bioelectric fields.

So I tulpa'd by accident. Or it's a drunken hallucination that I can hear and see when sober. She doesn't like it when I drink too much though, so that seems weird. She seems like she expects me to be a lot more disciplined and responsible in general. Right now she is mostly just a blur on the edge of my vision, but she has Trixie's voice, but softer and nicer.

What do. Mostly we talk about work and cars.

has anyone here had trouble with their tup changing up their hairstyle? mine can change clothes no issue, but the hair only changes for an instant before bouncing back to the way it originally was.

i've thought of actually going through the motions of what I would need to do to change the hairstyle like I would on a physical person but I was wondering if anyone has any ideas that work mentally, I always feel a little silly doing things physically with my tup
>>
>>2327458

>>
>>2327458
Mine does this quite often. She likes trying new haircuts from "short" to nearly feet long, also from straight to curly etc etc once in every month or so.
If it changes drastically, it tends to "revert" upon passive forcing (the momment the tulpa appears, etc) but stabilizes after a while. She currently has it in her knee height, but either thinking briefly about her/something that happened before/simply initiating passive forcing or conversation gets the lenght back to it's usual sometimes.

...since I don't care much anymore about high quality visualisation, this doesn't really bother us much. But oh it IS different if I can't visualize new clothing for whichever reason.

Question for folks here: What do you guys think of tulpa being used as an extension of fan obsession?

That is to say: rather than the tulpa (assuming it's based on a fictional character) being seen as an end in itself, and a focus of affections, the tulpa is seen as a way of furthering a connection with a fictional property, may it be a game, story etc.

Pic unrelated.
>>
>>2328272
That's stupid.
>>
>>2328272
In my eyes, a tulpa based in some character will eventually override your common approach to this character, or so I've noticed, at least. One of my tulpas have a form from a certain species in a show and I no longer see the species without associating her, instead of seeing her and associate with the species.
On the other hand, my other tulpa has friends with forms from movies or even mlp. Over time and after a bit of visualization whilst chatting I can no longer see those characters without relating to the tulpa instead of the other way around anymore.

I'm pretty sure I've seen other hosts reporting similar effects. That being said, your post doesn't make much sense to me nor could I really see it working.
>>
>>2328272
not really cool to enslave a person to your obsession with something, it's not like you can just drop the tulpa when your obsession with whatever fades

Well. This comparison does not seem too far fetched.
People tend to think transgenders aren't real and people who feel they are trans are just deluding themselves.
People tend not to recognize transgendered people fully for their new gender they wish to be called. I can see tulpas of opposite gender switching with their hosts still being called the host's sex too.

I wonder why you would make a comparison like that in the first place though. Doesn't seem to do much.

Thing is though, unlike the transgendered, tulpa creators don't actually need to have that sort of outward validation and recognition, as a tulpa is more often than not an internal thing. Really, the choice of whether to tell anyone else about your creations is fully optional: If one says nothing about it, no one will know, nor can know unless some some obvious breadcrumbs are left.

I don't know much about transgendered folk, but their whole thing is that they want to be seen as their preferred gender, thus trying to change their body to match that perception. Thus it not being a secret it is kind of built in to the whole thing. From that understanding, folks who have tulpa, and the transgendered are not the same in this.

Furthermore, I'm not sure where folks got the idea that tulpa folk have it as "bad" as the transgendered. Despite having to keep mine a secret, I don't consider that somehow "bad" or "oppression". In fact, I find the very idea of it rather goofy, and feel that strong words like oppression should be left to stronger situations. It was my choice to be this way, so why should I complain when people think it's weird? In ways, even I think it's weird.

This does bring up the question of folks with the skills and drive making media based around their experiences with their creation. It's already been used as a cheap and easy horror set-up, but I wonder if someone will make something about their more positive experiences, as there are those there as well.

I've had it in mind to make something like that, as well. Not because I want to spread tulpa and have everyone make one, but because I really do feel some good came out of it, both the months of creation, and the enjoyment of the product itself. Of course, I'm speaking of my partner(s) like they're not alive for ease of conversation, I actually do find them and my time spent with them precious indeed, and I find them to have a strong sense of life, something I would not have gotten from a construct I directly control.

It's not completely easy to explain, especially to and outsider, but it's neat.
>>
>>2333617
I honestly have not considered that. I was just looking at it from general social acceptance, but you are right, it is a huge difference.

For something more unrelated, has anyone noticed that there is a huge amount of transgender people in the community, notably the tulpa.info irc?
Why could that be?
>>
>>2334811
Weird things are magnet for weirdness. Why do you think furries are 40-50% gay? Weird shit attracts people who are rejected by mainstream society anyway, which leads to communities like the Tulpa community, Furry community, Bronies, etc being extremely accepting of trans, gays, etc
>>
>>2334811
From personal experience with the transgender community, and educating myself a lot on it...

They crave validation like nothing else. I mean to an unhealthy degree, but that's just part of the dysphoria. They're prone to surrounding themselves with sycophants and living in echo chambers. A lot of people use tulpas as validating sycophants. It makes sense. Or, alternatively, to project what they want to be, since a tulpa can be either gender.
>>
>>2334989

This is surely something I noticed, as well. It's weird quality that the odder LGBT and identitarian (I may be using that word wrong, please correct me if I am) folks have which I can currently only describe as "devouring".

Like, folks from places that are more craving of validation, or are prone to bringing a lot of attention to their identities, come in and treat the place as if it were no different from the place they just left, even though it very much is (For example, I remember a few posts on reddit about people seeming discouraged because most people in the tulpa community make their tulpa...despite tulpa being consciously constructed is one of the core features, as it is a practice). They bring in issues and problems that previously were either overlooked, or just not considered by the tulpa community. As a person who's somewhat familiar with different sorts of multiplicity, and the communities they sprung in (Partially thanks to surfing around places like Astraea's Web and the older, pre-tumblr multiplicity community), It's fairly easy to tell that each place have different assumptions, the greatest being that many multis just have it happen to them, while tulpa are things actively sought out and made.

I wouldn't mind this mixing so much, if it were not for the inclusion of folks who seem to collect and trade identities, both sexual and not, like they were trading cards.
>>
>>2335245
Yeah, it bothers me that even though they all act like this is a vital part of who they are, they're really flippant about how they treat tulpas/what that actually entails.
>>
>>2335002
most "trans" people pretty much do it just for attention. A lot of the people that call themselves trans and shit like that are doing because they want to have a special title so they can be different for attention. Of course not all trans people are like that, but a lot of the ones that say they are do.
I used to spend a lot of time on tumblr so I've experienced it first hand

It plays in to the idea that most multis just have it happen to them, rather than it being something that's sought out. The people who posted stuff like that were of that mind, and likely would have fit in more as being either soulbonders, median, etc.

The thing about it is that I feel there is a ton of overlapping concepts between tulpa and other sorts of multiplicity, and have found some useful info in many of the pre-tumblr multi stuff (Especially the historical, pre-Sybil accounts of multiplicity in Astraea's Web, which were super neat to find).

BUT, the practice of collecting identities and labels (For example: A trans gender-queer bisexual otherkin with 2 tulpa, 3 alters, and 5 soulbonds whom are also gender questioning) is what gets me. It seems absurd in an already pretty odd internet group.
>>
>>2337521
>For example: A trans gender-queer bisexual otherkin with 2 tulpa, 3 alters, and 5 soulbonds whom are also gender questioning
People like that are just craving attention. The only reason they gives themselves a shit ton of retarded titles is so that they feel special and can be a special snowflake
>>
So its it possible for a tulpa to obtain sentience without developing a form or voice yet
>>
>>2340536
It's hard to know when your tup obtains sentience so assuming it from the start (i.e. before form or voice) is a good idea.

If you were actually asking about if it would actually be sentient, no one can ever know for sure if another being is sentient, all you can do is go by how they act, and there are few ways for tups to act other than through form and voice, and i imagine they would feel quite restricted with no form and no voice but sentience.
>>
>>2340536
Sure, but do you want it to take infinitely longer?

No one knows, but one can assume that the more you emulate the better, well it could even make it worse, because no one knows shit.
>>
>>2340641
The thing is I didn't try to make one without a form or voice, I'm still working on those as we speak, I just wanted to ask because it seems like she's already found ways to communicate to a degree and I was curious if it was possible to acutally be her or just my mind playing tricks on me

You gotta be careful with your cuties. The trash full of men with impure intents and acts.

It's why I only access it via desustorage. There's only so much niche porn my eyes can take.
>>
>>2342239
Just do trash/tulpa in the URL and it will only show the tulpa thread my dude

Probably not.
>>
>>2342658
We can't miss you, you're not gone long enough for that.
>>
>>2342086
>Gardis aren't for degeneracy
But that's objectively wrong dude
>>
>>2342712
I had to sleep, then work, so I was gone for 20+ hours I think. Which meant she was gone too.
>>
>>2342916

Oh? So you work a long shift, eh?

Either way, I wouldn't worry too much about being missed. After all, we're all faceless here, yes?
>>
>>2342086
I appreciate that. How long have you had her?
>>
Wait, so head pressure/tingling is a common thing? I started feeling it early and though it was just from concentrating hard. And now I'm seeing some guides saying it's actually fairly normal? I don't think it's confirmation bias either since they started happening before I had even heard of the phenomenon.

I've even started feeling it throughout the day, not just when I'm focusing on her. It feels really nice.
>>
>>2343899
head pressures have always been the accepted sign of you doin a good job
>>
>>2343899
quick advice, try setting up a yes/no communication system using head pressures, makes for some good passive forcing
>>
>>2343919
Well I'm glad. It feels real nice, like a light headrub.

>>2343951
I did try that early actually, though we seem to have trouble using the right side of my head. It's almost exclusively left. No reason to not keep trying though I guess.
>>
>>2343100
Only to a certain extent, most people wind up showing certain habits. As for the long shift, no, mine change constantly and this one was only 7 hours, I just slept a lot because I had a few drinks lol

How do you guys normally spend your weekends with tups?
>>
>>2346570
asking her what she wants to do then ignoring it to do my own thing then hastily do one of the things she wanted late at night on sunday which ruins the entirety of my next week to the point where i just need the weekend to relax for me
>>
>>2346570
Like I spend any other day. If something comes up, then we'll see what happens.
>>
>>2346570
I just do what ever I would normally do just with my tulpa
>>
>>2342916
One day isn't really long enough to miss someone

Well, original Gardevoir anon, I've had Eva for just over a year.
She likes wearing a K6-3 helmet for some reason...

Remember that time you forgot to hug your tulpa? Make sure it doesn't happen again.

She is offended you cannot spell Gardevoir.

I hug them.
I also let one of them talk to other people on the web and then she gets panicy and cries because she can't deal with the fear of possibly not being liked by others. Then I hug her again and tell her that everything is okay. Then sex. Weekend well spent.

How many of you guys have considered calling your tuppers
"Persona" and thinking up powers for them just in case you ever found yourself thrown in to a TV?

Stands are fine, too.
