Its not a doll.
Its supposed to resemble the difference between a bunny suits leotard and the pantyhose/stockings.
Like look at the stocking part of the upper leg, that rounded shape of it near the top is where Lopunny's leg shape is based off.
You take that shape and add some curve to each's edge to make the legs and body look distinctly different and bam, you get that doll like look. But in actual fact it is just an exaggerated bunny suit design. In fact pretty much everything except the face and legs is from bunny suit kind of things, Lopunny is hardly a real rabbit at all. Same for its Mega.
I personally like canon legs better.

Its not that distinct, its only bad in that XY shot because its crappy textures exaggerate it because no in game shading. With actual lighting its not so bad, see Pic
I couldn't really word it right, but there is a curve right in between the leg and torso. It not just fur, its the actual body shapes.
The feel would depend on where you touch I would think. I mean our leg joints are fairly bony and muscly. Like touch in between your crouch and leg, its pretty hard. I'd imagine right on that curve for a Lopunny would be the same. It be quite thick muscle and bone. But only on the joining line, right after would just be natural thigh. Well I'd think so.

I always thought lopunny's leg line things looked weird, but now that I understand their logic and the way they look, it's makes a LOT more sense, and I can see really the appeal for the first time

I had no idea this shit was canon. Lopunny is by far my favorite pokemon, now, and before I wasn't even sure I had one. I previously thought it'd just be vaporeon since I love dogs and he seems to be the dog with the most realistic proportions, but this changes everything. you just introduced me to how awesome lopunny and her mega evolution is, so for that, thanks.
but, I understand that mega lopunny isn't actually the very same pokemon as lopunny. but still, it's great. i hope posting this image ITT is ok... it was like the only mega lopunny image I've seen before, and I never knew it was just a canon evolution of lopunny

Yeah post what you like, there is very little 100% canon Lopunny art so stuff like that is perfectly okay. All Lopunny is good Lopunny. Just remember 50% of Lopunny are male too.
Even better is that its Mega is a cardio bunny. Its from the 1980s aerobics craze. As they wore leotards and stockings it keeps the same torso shape.
Ripped stockings and other ripped clothing were trendy in that time. And the white fur on its wrists and lower legs are arm and leg warmers respectively.
The darker fur on the upper body resembles a sports bra like thing too.
The ears are based of braided hair I think if I am getting the style name right. You could even argue doing aerobics could make you faster and stronger, which is why Mega Lopunny got a big speed and attack boost.
Lopunny is just the coolest.

not him, nor am I the artist, but, I look at that, I see a guy. flat chest, and masculine between the legs. On e6 with their strict "tag what you see" rule, this would be tagged male, as there is nothing here that definitively betrays the character's being female. unless i am missing something.
an artist can tag their anything anything they want, but if it cannot be logically-deduced or seen through perception that something is a certain way in art, then in practice, it is not, as to think otherwise would be deluded. Enjoying males who identify as female is fine, but you'd have no valid argument proving that male to be definitively, physically female...
