I'm okay with "non-romantic" drama - but I despise heartbreak.
"Non-romantic" Drama, like Todd almost dying, is short lived, intense, thrilling and exciting.
Heartbreak is long, drawn-out suffering. It doesn't keep me on the edge of my seat, I don't enjoy it in a "uuh, how are we going to get out of this?" way.

Okay Thatch here, can't sleep so normally I would do Latte Night requests but seeing how I can't right now I'll just answer your thing.
Well there's a whole thing going on in the first one (Which was supposed to end there but continued on for anon's sake)
So basically, Jasper and the Sunchasers were left penniless after being discharged by the military, taking odd jobs on the hunter boards to no avail since they're not really hunters. Soon he meets Saoirse aka. the Arctic Fox, whom Jasper supposedly tried to steal contraband dust from which got him caught. Along the lines you are tasked into repaying the Fox by bringing a huntress in town, Héloïse, to her unharmed. She narrowly helps you escape Saoirse' but Jasper soon finds himself split from the rest of the group. Tired from all that business he rests at a tavern near a port town, Daven Port, which he later fins out to be a brothel, and there he meets Keppel, a red panda faunus femboy. She joins Jasper in his adventures as they bump into an angry Vacuoan in town (which reveals herself later to be the Atlas Special Agent Amaranth). Leaving that scene, Jasper soon finds his team +1 and must leave due to Saoirse's goons still looking for them. The team soon leave Msitral and dock in the city of Vale, which apparently Soap has much history in. Soap catches up with his ex-girlfriend, a VPD detective by the name of Sasha Frass. All does not go well for him in the reunion, adding to that Jasper's heartbreaking, they all go for milkshakes which leads to a chase scene because Héloïse gets kidnapped by Amaranth. Jasper then finds Saoirse on the scene with her goons and which prompts a fight. With the help of Drei Denim ,a hunter cop, and Amaranth they both defeat Sao. Back at the station the Fox is being interrogated and reveals her connection to an old friend of yours, February Gold (See JQ I) but before you can exact any more information she is killed by Héloïse, much to your enabling.

The whole station gets thrown into a battlefield as Adam assaults the place and later reveals his gratitude on the death of the "thorn on his side." Jasper then finds himself seperated from his team again as he dukes it out 1-on-1 against the Bull faunus, which Amaranth last minute. The agent then helps Jasper reunite with his team along with a couple of other survivors and make their way out of the precinct where a battle is ensuing. Sneaking past the melee, the group tries to signal an evac out of the locked down district.
