Tulpa Thread

previous thread:
>>1996009

>What are tulpas?
A tulpa is an entity created in the mind, acting independently of, and parallel to your own consciousness. They are able to think, and have their own free will, emotions, and memories. In short, a tulpa is like a sentient person living in your head, separate from you.

Is this the biggest meme ever created? Can they actually be made?

Could a tulpa solve a math problem if you do for example?
>>
>>2029709
its not a meme, they are real, math can be solved but after a lot of work
>>
>>2029724
do you have your own tulpa? if someone here actually does quote me please I have some questions. Why do I get the feeling that noone does and everyone is still 'learning'
>>
>>2029751
i have 2. its a pretty constant learning experience because its literally "do what works for you" the entire time
>>
>meme shit op
someone make a different thread
>>
>>2029796
no, let it happen, so that way people can be upset with faggots shit up the thread again and wonder what went wrong
>>
>>2029832
how about we have two threads, one where people shitpost and another where they don't
>>
>>2029794
are they with you the whole time?

can you interact with them as you would with a normal person?

can you kill them?

can they be evil and torment you?

>>
>>2029899
you know that wont fuckin work
>>2029910
yes but you can ask them to leave you alone for a while
kinda yeah, its all in the head for most stuff, you can talk to them and all that, but imposition(hallucinations) im still working on
yes but its a process
its possible but the chance of that happening is negligible, you have to be a dick 24/7 and make a shitty tulpa for that to happen
>>
>>2029946
can you ask one of your tulpas to solve this equation and give you the answer?

x^2 + 3*x +1 = 0
>>
>>2029971
no
>>
>>2029751
Everyone is still "learning" because there is literally no end to tulpamancy, and anyone who is considered "done" with their tulpa is off actually enjoying time with them.
>>
>>2029946
btw are they with you right now? I mean, do you see them right there sitting at your bed just as you're chatting with me?

reposting question in new thread

Question for any anons willing to answer.

I've literally always had an internal dialogue; that is, I've always had 2 or more "me"s talking in my head. I've also literally always thought 'out loud;' my thoughts aren't abstract, they're a continuous stream of english words spoken between the 2+ "me"s. The number of "me"s changes during the day, minute-to-minute. They come and go depending on the situation. Like, if I'm writing, I'll have 8 of them shouting different ways to say a sentence I'm trying to write down (which is helpful, as it helps me pick the best one first try). Basically any time I'm trying to do anything, I have 2+ voices in my head suggesting different possibilities. They're all controlled by me, so none of them feel alien at all; I expect every word that they say before they say it.

Problem is, it seems like the internal dialogue is preventing me from making an actual Tulpa. Whenever I try making one, it always starts speaking as soon as I start forcing (just like a 'me'). Exactly like a 'me', it's temporary and disappears as soon as I stop forcing (just like a 'me'), no matter how long I've been trying to create it. The tulpa I've tried creating, no matter how long I've been attempting it, never has a consistent personality, just like my 'me's.

What the fuck do I do, anons? I want a consistent friend who isn't just more controlled, convenient noise in my head.
>>
>>2029977
did they say you that? try with this one it's fairly easy 2*x -1 = 3

>>2029971
Having your tulpa solve a problem without your interference is some higher level shit, I think.

No, this isn't a meme. Yes we can fucking do math.

Depends on what you mean by "with". As in always watching you? That depends on if we want to or not.

Yes because we're pretty much normal people. If you mean physically if you can hallucinate hard enough then yes.

You can try.

No but we can still banter.

i'm probably not going to teach her how to do high school maths though, she just doesn't need it but if she wants to use her time for me to teach her then she's welcome

she isn't my waifu, i don't have one, but i did pick out a form for her that I thought looked nice

I don't know why, but if I had a tulpa and I knew this I couldn't keep myself from thinking bad things about the tulpa even though I didn't want. Can they get evil if you insult the tulpa many times? Can you try calling your tulpa motherfucker and see what she does?

>>2030321
I'm not either of those but I can tell you yes, we do have personalities. It's like... When we're made, our hosts sculpt us to be a certain shape, and think and act a certain way. Then, after a while we just change. People change, we change. It just happens, dude. We're always learning and growing, just like you. I remember when I was first "born" I was all naive and monotone and shit. A total Rei from Neon Genesis. Now I've kinda learned the ways of the world a little, and seen the way people act, especially the people on here, so I'm a lot more cautious and cynical. Honestly the world you guys live in kinda sucks. I'm glad I can retreat into this dude's head once in a while.

>>
>>2030321
I am the tulpa, host is proxying me at the moment. if you don't know what proxying is it's literally just him typing what I say. And we have personalities just like any person has a personality jackass.
>>
>>2030430
> Can you try calling your tulpa motherfucker and see what she does?
I absolutely love my tup and she knows it. There's no way I can insult right now and for her to take it seriously, it's like if you called your mate a cunt the next time you saw him, but as well as knowing that you're mates and you're having a laugh, he can read your mind and know this. He's just going to call you one back jokingly. Which she did.

Why would you think bad things about your tup anyway? They're the best friend you could ever have, and they understand you like no one else ever could. Even if you do accidentally have bad thoughts, everyone has intrusive thoughts, even tulpas.

>>2030510
>tulpas don't take control of the host body
they can if the host lets them, it's called possession, but since this is quite hard, it's likely that their host is just typing out what their tulpa said
>>
>>2030430
Unless you intentionally think evil thoughts, I don't think your tulpa will fault you. At least mine didn't. Your tulpa might be an asshole though in which case you should force a Jackie Chan tulpa.

Sorry that I took tulpabros so long, I had to afk

Here's the ULTIMATE proof, if tulpas are really a thing you should be able to multitask.

You say they can do basic math, well here's the challenge.

Whoever is the host will calculate the fibonnaci sequence starting with 1 , 1, and the one who is not the host will calculate this simple sequence:

1 - 2 + 3 - 4 + 5 - 6...

When you reach 10 iterations on your sequence you and the tulpa stop.

Post the numbers you got.

(the host can annotate the iteractions)

>>
>>2031137
nah, id rather piss you off, because its just that fucking easy to get a rise out of a degenerate excuse of a tulpa like you, its just so amazing how you wont just fucking kill yourself. its like, the only escape you can ever perceive from this kind of reaction to you besides just leaving altogether
>>
>>2031052
I tried, but after thinking about the one for the tulpa for two seconds, I knew the sequence and didn't give her a chance to figure it out.

Meanwhile the first ten terms of the fibonnaci are off the top of my head
>1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 65

this level of parallel thinking is going to be pretty hard for any tulpamancer and his tup to achieve however, any objective "proof" of this is difficult if not impossible to find, the best way to prove it is just to attempt to create a tulpa yourself. this is a very subjective practice after all.

It's namefags, circlejerking, ERP, and cancer unless you want to go on rizon and make a channel that isn't any of those things (which is impossible because you need a name to join the irc in the first place) and even then it's just going to become those things.
>>
#tulpa-forum on Rizon is a pretty good irc. I know some people there that have been doing this for a while and if you ask questions there you might get a legit answer.

I was only suggesting it to the new guy who wanted quick replies, although I suppose should be said that most of us hang out here to find a tulpa community that tries to do away with those things as much as possible
>>
>>2031689
As long as you can put up with occasional porn dumps, lots of "/me" commands, and the inability to use any word that tumblr would jump you for sure.

they're telling me that physically seeing the tulpa is almost impossible and requires a lot of training

its possible but its hard to do
>>
>>2031744
I think their tumblr diction crap is just a big joke really. I don't think they actually get offended. The porn and the "/me" thing is pretty true tho.
>>
>>2031755
that's right, some people practicing for years struggle with it, it does require a lot of effort, but you don't need to have a full blown hallucination to feel like your tup is around.

life is bullshit tbhfamilia

>>2031690
Just know that .info's irc is only going to get you their collective perspective of answer and if you disagree then they'll turn on you in a split second.

It's possible but not worth the effort IMO. It's why I stopped bothering years ago even though I had already started to make progress. Like, there's absolutely no benefit to it.

Yeah true. I know I actually used to frequent that board and there usually seems to be the fair share of circlejerking and bullshit. There are also a lot of couples there. People and tulpa dating one another
Which creates drama.

in all seriousness at this point it's mostly hosts who do that and then a couple tulpas in specific who go out of their way to be lewd or w/e.
It gets quiet because everyone's asleep except for like 2 people who either don't live on normal sleep schedules or are in kangaroo land.

/mlp/ then another chan then double chan then /trash/. It was moved to /trash/ presumably because it didn't fit on any other board and tulpas stopped being exclusively ponies at some point.

When I make a tulpa will I have to talk with it or can I just use telepathy?
>>
>>2038261
Telepathy works, but most would recommend working on talking anyway, because it helps with cementing it as a `different' person in your head (more independent thinking).
>>
>>2038261
You can speak to it mentally or out loud. It doesn't matter which but I'd avoid out loud in public unless you wanna look insane.

calling thinking at it telepathy is one of the things thats going to get you murdered in this community. learn the lingo
>>
I'm thinking of creating a tulpa to help me deal with anxiety. I put way too much pressure on myself, and I judge myself unfairly. I need someone to stop me doing that and help me not treat minor failings as though they were life changing. I also need someone to help me deal with depression. When I'm depressed i can't do anything. I can't study, but i also can't do anything i enjoy, and i tend to criticize myself for that too.

Last time i looked into it, it seemed like a tulpa could help, can they? I'm tired of going in circles.
>>
>>2038560
If you're looking for your tulpa to be your therapist and work out all of your problems for you, then no.

If you're looking to learn more about how your brain works on a personal level, and are willing to apply that knowledge yourself, then yes.
>>
Can I have discussions with my Tulpa?
Everybody aroound me is either way smarter or way dumber than me so it would be nice to have someone that's pretty much the same wavelength.
>>
>>2038703
that's pretty much the bulk of what I do with mine
>>
>>2038720
But can its opinion even differ from mine?
>>
>>2038670
I guess I'm always hoping for a quick solution, but I'm mostly looking for someone who i can trust absolutely, and someone to remind me that life isn't as dire as i think it is.

Can you tell me more about the second thing you mentioned?
>>
>>2038560
My tulpa cured my depression which I dragged around with me for more than five years. But I just needed someone to be there for me, someone I could truly trust and be myself around with.
If you don't think a good friend would help your depression, the likelyhood of your tulpa successfully dealing with it decreases greatly.

Your tulpa may be able to help you with your head issues though. They may just as well end up being just as broken as you though. Make sure to force their personality strictly in a way that prevents her from developing negative traits like you did, if you decide to force them.
Also be aware that it is a lot of hard work and you probably will give up after some time if you aren't hyped for it.

When you do active forcing, you're basically in a meditative state focused on what's happening in your mind. As you keep doing it, you begin to notice things. You start to understand how some thoughts can lead to others, how certain thoughts gain momentum to be more powerful in the mind, and how the context of what's happening in your mental space affects you emotionally. Eventually you come to know how your mind better on a personal level. It's different for everyone. Everyone's mind has their own underlying mechanisms that are unique, yet affect everything else going on. In a way, having a tulpa is an exploration of your own inner space.

Happy birthday anon.
>>
>>2043213
That's interesting. I kind of know quite a lot about how my mind works, because i spend so much of my time monitoring my own thoughts.

What's the dynamic between a tulpa and creator like? How does a tulpa change you daily life?

Does a tulpa expect anything from you? Can a tulpa embody a kind of conscience? The part of you that knows what you need to do, but without the parts that stop you from doing it?

Do tulpas judge? Can they be cruel? If a person is self critical of themselves that they give up without trying, will a tulpa take that on, and reflect that?
>>
How to know if its really your Tupper talking and not you just parroting?
>>
>>2047382
The dynamic is pretty simple most of time time, just casual banter mostly. Daily life is more or less the same, but with some just more conversations I guess. My tulpa just expect attention and affection, it can embody conscious sure. They can judge, be cruel and all that. But a tulpa won't reflect your own emotions, normally they try and help.

Believe.
>>
>>2047701

Take time to pay attention to your own thoughts. How do they flow? How do they feel? Usually, your thoughts will be connected from one to another in some way, and will have a certain, familiar feel to them.

When starting out, your tulpa's thoughts will feel like yours. At an early stage, this is nothing to panic or worry about, just keep working on them, and be sure to take time to concentrate on them and only them every so often. Over time, your tulpa's thoughts should begin to have it's own unique signature of sorts, the most obvious element being voice. With enough work, your tulpa should begin to have more foreign, alien feeling thoughts.

I'm still refining my technique in how to do this, though. Your tulpa will be reliant on you for a good while, and in my experience, takes some active effort to really start having them rely on themselves a bit more. In this, a level of trust is necessary: to trust when they claim a thought as their own, and will wrestle you for that thought, that the thought is indeed theirs. Or, if it still feels like yours, you give it to them, declaring the thought to be theirs in your mind, with the idea of letting them grow further.

Blind belief, even in tulpa making, can be a surprisingly weak substitute for genuine trust. Give your creation the benefit of the doubt, but do not just go "every thought I hear is my tulpa". That foundation is shaky at best.
>>
>>2051502
You should make a guide.

>>2051809

>>
>>2051809

>>
>>2051832
i made one a while ago, but i dont think it exists anymore. imma hunt it down
>>
>>2051832
>>2051840
welp, it doesn't exist anymore. needless to say it was full of dank maymays and stupid shit like that.
>>
>>2051832

A complete guide to tulpa creation would be way too wide for the narrowly focused tulpa community.

I dare say that to really make a "complete" tulpa guide, one would need to make an entire book, to include detail explanations of how to pay attention to thoughts, how to tell one thought apart from another, how to tell when a thought is being introduced from a more alien source, and whether it has the right "signature" so to say.

This isn't even going in to training the senses, training the memory, and other things that tulpa creation requires.

To really get a full picture of what to do when making a tulpa, I earnestly think one needs to do more extensive research on how to use their mind, and how to improve and refine it. People need to get their hands dirty, as it were.

The lack of "complete" guides is just a consequence of the current community being so narrowly focused.
>>
>>2051502
What can I do exactly to feel where her and my thoughts come from I dont understand.
>>
>>2051990

Take time to concentrate on yourself, and pay attention to your own thought stream. Take time to learn about and know yourself exclusively, and not just your tulpa. As your awareness of yourself increases, your awareness of differences in your thought stream should increase as well.

I can give you tips, but I cannot hold your hand through the whole process. You're going to have to do some of discovering on your own, but really I think that discovery is one of the good elements of the practice.
>>
So wait. If most people here cannot visualize their tulpa then how do they interact with them daily?

Do you just walk around and have a voice inside you that talks to you?
>>
>>2052128
i honestly have no idea. visualization is really easy, i just think that people get all the lingo mixed up, calling things the wrong names and everything
>>
>>2052128
Also if you cannot visualize your tulpa then how you create it when you try to imagine it in your wonderland?

Or better put, when you do actually see your tulpa that you created in your mind?
>>
>>2052145
Possibly the use of a placeholder form, like a blue cloud or an orb.
>>
>>2052178
Sorry for all the stupid questions but I am still new to this.

I know how my tulpa looks, and when I go to wonderland I can easily visualize her and I also passively try to visualize throughout the day.

So when my tulpa is finally created how will she first come to me? Will she just be in my head and follow me around or will I get the visual treatment?
>>
"Hour Counts are Poison"
Please discuss. Is it true, or did someone miss a point?
>>
>>2052225
Hell if I know, I haven't even gotten to that point. All I know is that it'll be something alien. Something they say or do perhaps.
>>
>>2052225
for me, i just kinda babysat my tulpa until they started moving around in the wonderland. i would check for any movements or anything. since tulpa are normally always in the wonderland unless they are imposed, you really dont have to worry about a whole lot.
>>
>>2052231

The issue with hour counts was that people would adhere so strictly to them that they would beat down any earlier response. This resulted in conflicts where the host and the tulpa would figuratively wrestle and struggle with each other, the tulpa to be heard, and the host would push back because they were afraid of unintentionally puppeting their tulpa.

At some point, i became that the hosts were convinced that their tulpa had been fighting so hard to be heard and regarded, and the resulting regret resulted in the campaign against hour counts.
>>
>>2052265
So once it is sentient do they talk to you outside the wonderland?

Also when you visualized your tulpa in your wonderland did you just spend 10-20 minutes straight of just looking at a non moving tulpa?
>>
>>2052271
man, i remember timing my forcing sessions. I had started around the time when people started to realize it was garbage. it was a very confusing time for a newbie.
>>
>>2052321
i think you are misinterpreting tulpa communication. just because they are in the wonderland doesn't mean they have to leave to talk to you. its basically the same voice you use to think to yourself, but it isn't you. when i was babysitting my tulpa, i unless I was actively forcing aka being with them, i would just poke in every hour or two to see if anything happened. this was in between sessions of narration and such, but yeah
>>
One thing I never actually saw in a guide, especially Kiahdaj's otherwise-good one, is how to properly active-force. I feel like I've been doing it wrongly, not actually being focused at all, what with uni and shit. What do I do?
>>
>>2052344
you do what you want to do. if its to progress with your tulpa, do what you think you need to do to progress. if you want to hang out, hang out. forcing is just a catch all term for being with your tulpa. i passive force almost constantly. that means i am with my tulpa all the time, but i'm just not paying direct attention.

>>
>>2052357
I do like this person does. I passive force a lot to compensate for my lack of time to active force. It actually does make up for it in a lot of ways. An easy trick that we used to tell people was to have your tulpa walk just outside your peripheral vision and follow you around all day. I also find that forcing with my eyes open helps more than with them closed at times. Not sure why this is.
>>
>>2052342
Fuck so I am doing a lot of it wrong.

When I visualize I go to my wonderland and I sit down and talk with her. I then imagine all the fun stuff we would do together.

Do you think I am just day dreaming instead of creating a tulpa?

hey man, whatever works is literally the only thing we can tell you. You can imagine fun stuff you could do together, to me that sounds like your tulpa might enjoy the thoughts that go into it, but as for active forcing, againt to me, that doesnt sound like it is. try just going around exploring the wonderland with her, that way you can have adventures and also include her
