I use Manga studio/clip paint and i lay down my flats i try to keep them a little on the desaturated side, shade with a complimentary color ( normally blue or purple) on top of my lines with multiply ( play with the opacity) then i use a gradient set to soft light on top of that
then for the shines i use a screen layer and color pick what i'm shading and adjust as needed
after it's all finished, i flatten the image and make a copy then blurr the copy and erase from the blurred layer the important parts.
I honestly just got my process down a few months ago
