Being converted into soft, jiggling fat that hangs uselessly off the pred's body is definitely hot, for the sheer humiliation of it.
I also like a bit of a turnaround, where the pred is embarassed about their fat body. Bonus points for complaining to ther long dead prey for making them fat.
I also think it's because it's a blatant change in the pred's physique. Changing the pred's weight and proportions makes it more meaningful that you have become part of them, since they are different than before in more than one way. If the prey were absorbed into general, proportional growth (bones, muscles, skin) or just used up as energy, the pred would still look more or less the same and the prey just vanishes.
But after being turned into fat, the prey is visibly with the pred every second of their life and actually has a meaningful influence on it - the pred's heavier now, their clothes don't fit like they once did, they start to sweat when they climb the stairs to their apartment... yeah, you wouldn't be all out breath now if you didn't eat me, you fat fuck.
Another aspect would be the whole trophy thing. The fatter a pred is, the more evident it is not only that they ate a lot of people, they also ate way more than their body actually required so that the excess calories had to be turned into blubber. I'm an exploring artist, ok. I'm stupid and need guidance to get to the best style. Upvoters on Derpi and elsewhere enable terrible habits, because they like specific things like massive asses and breasts, even when it doesn't make physical sense. I want sensible suggestions not driven by hivemind ejaculations.

I don't believe that you can be guided to the best style, really. Style's a matter of personal preference for the most part. Just do what you like. Also, about those last sentences, you probably shouldn't be paying attention to upvoters. They don't upvote or downvote/ignore things for the purpose of helping artists improve.

Slow but not painful. I think it's more enjoyable if it isn't permanent because murder sorta sucks, but the prey doesn't have to know that.
Having it feel pleasurable, uncomfortable or just like nothing at all is fine, but I like the idea of the prey getting more and more hazy as they slowly disintegrate. Them being completely at the mercy of the pred after they're no longer conscious either from lack of oxygen or because they're so digested but still having a chance to survive in one form or another is my favorite.
