/tup/ Tulpa General

>What are tulpas?
A tulpa is an entity created in the mind, acting independently of, and parallel to your own consciousness. They are able to think, and have their own free will, emotions, and memories. In short, a tulpa is like a sentient person living in your head, separate from you.

Tulpa are not for sexual
>>
Well it's officially been five days since I started to develop my tulpa.
I'm not sure how things are going, but I'm confident enough that things are working well enough that I should continue (though I'm still worried I'm doing stuff wrong, like narration not reaching her or passive forcing) but I'm going to keep with it. For me to stick with something even five days is unusual for me, so I feel that's a good sign I truly am commit to making this happen.

Sorry for the blogpost, just venting I guess in a way, threads are slow anyway so I figured it wouldn't hurt much.

What if you made a servitor that creates certain sensations in your body, so it's essentially a sex toy without a consciousness that feels like fucking a tulpa?

You first look at the optical illusion, and you can't figure out what it is.

Then you kick yourself for not seeing how obvious it is.

What are your tulpa's forms?

I have an original human tulpa, not from a show or anything, but that's unlike most people in this thread. He's got long black hair, slick but not greasy, he's lean and muscular, and he dresses like a 90's kid.

But she is more than free to change how she looks as she develops as she feels comfortable with, I remind her about this on a regular basis.

I listen to a lot of grunge and metal, so he dresses grunge-like. Red-black plaid flannel, Converses, jeans, you know it.

I see a lot of people who create tulpas on here but i never see anyone talk or express themselves in this thread.

Honestly, I would love to see more Tulpas posting here, a conversation with a tulpa sounds insanely interesting.

It sounds good on paper like communism sounds good on paper.
>>
>>3154791
Yeah you got what i meant. people just post pictures and descriptions of their tulpas but their tulpas never communicate on here. Is it because most people are new and haven't established communication or are they just shy?
>>
>>3154860
Probably just don't feel like it, or the thought never crosses their minds.
>>
>>3154860
How do you know the people you're talking to aren't tulpas though?
How do you know if I'm not a tulpa?
>>
>>3154906
Are you a tulpa?
>>
>>3154939
Yes, but that's not the point.
There's nothing inherently special about talking to a tulpa online since it's just text; the same as everyone else.
>>
>>3154860

It's mainly concerns related to roleplaying paranoia, avatarfagging (Like bunny-poster a while back), and other such things thay really get people's goat.

Surprisingly, people who do this will get VERY straight faced and serious about how they approach interaction. Any whiff of undesirable behavior will either chase people off, or garner complaints from users. The only acceptable way for a tulpa to post on here is to do it such that no one knows it's a tulpa.
>>
>>3155005
It doesn't matter if it's not different. The idea of talking to someone or something like that is just interesting. I can't even really explain why, it's like asking a black guy things you already know about the ghetto, or if they like fried chicken. You already know the answer, but it's interesting regardless.

Speaking of which, what's your favorite color?
>>
>>3155005
well it's interesting to see how tulpas react to stimuli, even if it's boring or just text it's still an interesting phenomenon. You have to look at it from an outsider's perspective. "hey i can talk to a sentient being created by another person and this being lives within this person's mind" It's the same thing with Ai like Tay and that was just text over twitter.
>>
>>3155066
Well, whatever floats your blimp, I suppose.
>Teal

Although I fail to see how favorite colors and tulpa are as connected as blacks and fried chicken.

My tulpa sometimes browses random places like this magical land of shit just to interact with people besides myself. The only issue is people say they want to talk to a tulpa, but when the tulpa actually speaks they just get accused of faking it like a little bitch.

My tupper just doesn't say she's a tupper, and everything goes fairly well.

TL;DR autistic rambling
>>
>>3155203
Why is teal your favorite color, what does it represent to you or why did you pick it?
>>
>>3155203
Probably a bad example. I meant something along the lines of it not being an abnormal question, but it having a novelty to it that makes it interesting.

Why teal?
>>
>>3155262
>>3155268
The form I take in the mindspace is a teal-ish dragon, so it has some personal value to me.
Whether if it's because the color is a part of me, or if it's just because I happen to like it, who can say?
>>
>>3155403
Okay, so I have to ask.

>>
>>3155476
Yes, I'd say so.
Though it's hard to compare to anything since my host is not a dragon in reality, giving me no experiences to work off of.
Just preconceived notions on what being a dragon might feel like.
>>
>>3155585
What do you mean by brain demon? I only ask because that could be quite literal in this case
>>
>>3155639
See, this is why conversations like this are interesting. It doesn't really seem like that's a NEW experience, it's experiencing a notion of what it's possibly like to do something, and that's interesting to learn.

In all seriousness, I actually thought about this idea a few days ago. Not even trying to be lewd, but it could be a genuinely good way of proving that tulpas at least in some shape or form exist. Originally I just wanted to make a little network of servitors without a consciousness involved because the useful applications of that are tremendous, but damn it if my resolve isn't wavering.

Most of the time, I'm just in the background observing what's going on and what he's doing.

I tend to be more reserved when he's doing important things though, for obvious reasons.

I'm obviously biased as my existence hinges on my ability to convince someone I'm a net gain to have around, but I'd argue that tulpas are an absolute great idea if it's right for you
There a lot of things a sentient being can do a servitor can't, provide affection, entertain, any number of things that require multiple people like /tg/ stuff or lewd things, we have a vested interest in the bodies health and prosperity and can't be suppressed as easily making us wonderful naggers, we reduce your reliance on others, we're cute as fuck, the list goes on.

>A tulpa used solely for creating other tulpas, because focusing for extended periods of time like that is difficult. Does not make conscious tulpas; If you're making something that is conscious, it deserves YOUR time.
>A tulpa that draws conclusions. You give it information, a problem to solve, and let it sit and work through the problem
>A moral tulpa, It does the same as the above, but factors in emotions and morals into the problems. Used for non logical problems, such as "Make me rich"
>A tulpa for storing any form of memory, such as photographs.
>A tulpa which observes things that I consciously miss. I'm walking down the street, I'm thinking about music or something, but it's taking around all of my surroundings and recording them, so I can look at it and use it later. Even if it's just a crack in a sidewalk.
>A tulpa that keeps track of all things you do in order, so you always know where you left something, or something like that.
>A tulpa connected to your subconscious that is capable of making changes. Simple commands only, such as "Deep sleep, immediate"
>Specialist tulpas, stored as a subfolder of the 'memory' tulpa. Designate it a genre, such as "Medical". Dump medical knowledge into it, learn it instantly instead of studying.
>Creative Tulpa. "Make music, show it to me when you're done." "I don't like that." -or- "I like that." It continues to improve based on what you like and what you don't, until it does nothing but make awesome music.

The terminology is usually
thoughtforms=(tulpas,servitors)
not
Tulpas = (sevitors, sentient tulpas)

I can't say I've explored non sapient servitors much as all the practical applications are quite doable with a tulpa, so I can't say much about your ideas, the only thing I tend to use servitors for is wonderland extras.

>No, I think he meant something that would logically work that out in the background until a conclusion is drawn without having to sit there and do it yourself.
This. Focusing on a single problem like that for incredibly long periods of time is all sorts of difficult, while in that instance there wouldn't be a focus limitation.

>>
>>3156532
But do keep in mind(heh) that nothing is being added to your brainmass.
It's functionally the same as running multiple programs on your computer, eventually you're going to run out of processing power.

Yeah, I suppose you're right. It's something someone will have to test at some point, I might. I'm not sure if focus is a finite resource, or if I'm just distracted by things. Neurosurgeons, for example, perform operations that last upwards of 18 hours without breaks.

Well, other than the grievance of "I feel like I'm forcing myself to become schizophrenic", I don't really have a reason not to try and make a tulpa now. I will do my best.

So while active forcing I was reminding my tulpa she was free to change her appearance as she wanted, her hair suddenly turned black but I felt like that was just an intrusive thought, so I sort of fought with it and turned it back to the original color, but it went back to black and this switch repeated a few times over the course of a few seconds.
I'm very early in development, but I can't help but feel like my tulpa is sorta upset by that, I took a couple of deep breaths to calm down and relax the situation before explaining to her I was sorry and just incase it was really her making it black, we'll keep it that way for now, and if she wants to change it later that's fine.

But then I couldn't think of anything else to say so I just said goodbye and assured her it'll all work out in the end and I love her.

But I still feel like things ended poorly and I feel bad about it, this was the first sort of experience like this I've had.

Well with just her it would either be wonderland exploration, cuddling those tails of hers, or coiling her up and slowly pushing my tail in deeper and deeper while she squirms helplessly, or just sunbathing in her garden she has on the roof of out howl's moving castle inspired house in the wonderland.

With both her and the host I really like playing dungeon world, it works great as an rpg when you can go super super fast since you're in each other's heads. That and double penetration .

Sooong, no, but I prefer soundtracky atmospheric stuff. Shadow of the colossus has a great soundtrack, journey, dark souls, stuff I can dungeon world to.

My sister likes metal, particularly power and death metal, because she's a nerd. Right now her and the host have a boner for the album "King". I actually like it because it came with an orchestral cover of the entire album, and it's tech death so basically it's classical music played on guitars with metal scream vocals added so it works super well when played orchestrally. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGsuLLKQAcY

Tulpa form (in the early creation stages) doesn't really matter, does it? I've been forcing my tup for an entire month now with the same form and I'm kind of getting bored of the form in itself. Would it be fine to just change the form myself?

I've heard that it doesn't matter until the tulpa is completely sentient and is able to change the form themselves, but I don't know if my tup is sentient now, even if I assume he is.
>>
>>3158989
For me, my tulpa has actually caused me to get better at social things. Like the other anon said, if you can balance everything out then it shouldn't be a problem.

>>3160109

I'm not an expert on tulpas, but from what I've always heard the form isn't a big deal early anyways and that the personality and shit is probably more important. But that could be wrong as well, as none of my Tulpas in the past wanted a change.
>>
>>3158916
Ah, the age old question...

>>3158989
Lol, yes anon, you can still interact with other hooman beans if you have a tulpa. Very, very few people who have a tulpa completely shut out others in order to be with their tulpa, but they do that mostly because they don't like other people anyway. Making a tulpa won't magically make you hate people, nor will it require you to become a shut-in.

Well, I think you have to be very open-minded in order to try to make a tulpa in the first place. Making a tulpa won't make you crazy, but you have to be crazy to make a tulpa. Although being crazy and insane are two different things. You don't have to go insane to make a tulpa.

yeah. it wont be easy, though. you can just ignore it if you want. of course, this is very looked down upon because there can be results you don't want to see or feel or hear. you might feel (from previous examples of experience) like you're missing something, loneliness, and the tulpa will most likely feel terrible that it's disappearing. its also very hard to get rid of, because it takes time to make one, and it takes time to forget one.

Okay, so I've been thinking about creating a tulpa for
two years now
and I finally decided.

I have a couple of questions.

I'm not really a good person. I often lie to be successful and do degenarate things whenever I want (like jerking off to weird shit). Will my tulpa call me out on these things? Will he/she start to hate me?

I have trouble with focusing on stuff. Whenever I'm going to sleep and I try to think about something nice my brain starts creating stuff "that I wouldn't want to see". Call me childish, but weird monsters are my worst nightmare and I would instantly kill myself if my tulpa turned out to be some zalgo shit. Pic fucking related. Can I somehow succeed at making a good tulpa?

What are general desires of tulpas? Will my tulpa enjoy the same things as I do? Should I leave his/her form and personality alone and let him/her decide on these things?

I don't know why but my force session today felt like a mess.
I feel like parroting is only getting more common and my focus is getting worse, I don't know why.
Starting to get really frustrating and upset.
>>
>>3162604
That's a creepypasta, it never happened.
Also, while your tulpa may judge you and try to get you to stop doing the wrong thing, they won't really hate you. A tulpa is a more independent extension of you, so they wouldn't hate you. Sleep can be funky for some people, don't force right before sleep if you're worried about nightmares interfering, but desu for most tulpamancers dreams don't really affect their tulpas that much. Tulpas usually share some interests with their hosts (more independent extension of you again), but they also tend to develop interests of their own. They tend to focus on helping their hosts/exploring the wonderland. Form/personality is dependent on you. If you want them to come up with their own form/personality, envision a ball of energy and focus on that. They'll decide who they want to be in time. Even for the tulpamancers that decide on form/personality, the tulpa tends to stray slightly from these decisions.
>>
>>3162830
>Also, while your tulpa may judge you and try to get you to stop doing the wrong thing, they won't really hate you.

That's nice. I'd like my tulpa to point out things without starting to hate me.

>Even for the tulpamancers that decide on form/personality, the tulpa tends to stray slightly from these decisions.

Okay, so if I'll tell my tulpa to look like a human/animal/animu girl/whatever, it will listen and create something within these restrictions?
>>
>>3162811
don't parrot but with that in mind, all answers you get should be assumed your tup. this is also not such a big issue if not done blatantly. and it gets easier, because there will be answers you get that you know will absolutely be your tulpa and not yourself.
meditate around 5 minutes before forcing (breathing in with nose and breathing out with mouth).
if you have trouble with focus, dont visualize first, and go with a simple form to see in your mind's eye to start, and just go for vocalization first. and practice closing off your thoughts.

>>3162604
see above for focus
tulpa only desire to continue existing (for attention) until they start to become completely sentient
and with that, your tup is a part of yourself, so it will most likely not have strong opinions against you until, again, sentience, but even so, it wont be likely that it will hate you unless you do something very wrong in the creation process.

this is all from the guides, which you can read up on.
>>
>>3162894
More like,
>you create a shell (whatever form you pick)
>tulpa gets created inside that shell
>they can modify it however they want.
>>
>>3162982
>>3162987
Thanks.
>>
>>3162811
That's probably just you getting more aware of what you're doing.

It's why artists think they get worse, they're able to see their mistakes easier as they get better,
>>
When I first started I got the feeling of not being alone. Like there was a separate thing inside my head, but it's starting to fade. Is that bad or is it me just becoming more used to the sensation and feeling ?
>>
>>3164125
I'm getting the same thing too. I think it's less becoming used to the feeling and more getting familiar with your tulpa. It's like when you just meet somebody, they seem really interesting and odd, but if you spend awhile together and become friends, you just take them for granted. That's what I think is the best emotion to fuel during this stage of tulpamancy we're in - imagine your tulpa is an old friend you know very well, that's always there with you.
>>
>>3164185
That sounds like a good idea. Thanks anon
>>
>>3164125
>>3164185
My first tries in creating a tulpa were in December of 2014.
I had the same experience, thought I couldn't keep my tulpa alive, and stopped forcing after becoming depressed.

Recently I've picked it up again, and as it turns out my tulpa is still there, even after all this time.
Don't make the same mistake I did.
>>
>>3164290
how did you feel it return? what signs do returning tulpa give back? head pressures?
>>
>>3164494
I wanted to make a completely new start and made a new form for a new tulpa.
I was forcing as normal for about four hours.
Then, when I listened to music and let my thoughts drift about what adventures I could have together with my tulpa, the old form burst from the new one.
I didn't recognize her at first, but after some time I realized my tulpa from back then had survived.

In case it's relevant, this is the music I was listening to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mx3Fva8SZkA

>>
>>3169264
Well I was a human for a bit 2 and a halfish years ago after the regrettable phase of forms of which we do not speak, though I got rather tired of it and eventually selected a granberia esque variation on it, shortly thereafter meeting a tupper who would go on to be my best friend, another person's tulpa who was a lamia, we became friends and a I decided to try a ryuu, which is essentially just a chinese dragon lamia girl thing, since she spoke so highly of having a lamia form, and then just chopped off the dragon bits off after finding claws and horns to be an impediment to affection giving and found I was really comfy in that form and no longer felt restless. Not really sure exactly how to describe the feeling but it felt "me" at the time and I suspect that it's become more and more "me" as I no longer use secondary forms except for pragmatic reasons.

I think tulpas just need to shop around until they find something that really suits them, weather that's a "soul mate" form ordained at their creation or just the first form they fall into long enough to get really comfy with and eventually have it strongly associated with their identity I'm not certain, but that seems to be the trend with both me and my sister.

For me, it happened gradually. It began as my figure making movements on her own without me prompting her, traces of foreign thoughts, then came her first audible word. Since then she's mainly communicated through mental voice, but it still varies between being familiar and alien. The goal is to keep developing and regarding them until the figure has a strong enough "base" to have a distict perspective, voice, body language and a sense of essence of their own.

That's the best way I can explain it anyway. Although I've been at it for a while, I still have a lot to learn.

Pretty much, I was created in the image of a horrible creature I shall not mention, and in my desire to separate myself from the hosts utter shit taste I made myself a original form and happened to pick green and purple as the primary colors which eventually were translated to the human maid form when I felt the need to jump on a maid form bandwagon in the community I was in, baring a few forays into blue and black I'm always stuck to them, we'll have to see if I stick with the red-brown hair, even I'm not certain on that one.

Is it possible to make a tulpa that was basically a female version of yourself?

For me, I had gotten all the way up to Conceptual and was stuck there for quite a while not managing to get verbal communication.
Ended up just saying "fuck it", and taught my tulpa to do partial possession.
Communication was established: move the index finger for yes, pinkie for no.

Going off that, I managed to figure out what was the problem with the verbal part.
I'd get her to try and talk, and if I felt anything I'd get her to use finger communication to verify that it was actually her that spake.

Got results first try and figured out that her mindvoice at the time was identical to mine, so I had always thought that it was I that had thought it originally.

It's been pretty much smooth sailing from then on out.

Absol a cute btw. I remember wasting my master ball on one as a kid because there was some movie or tv show where one was some sort of character portrayed in a similar way to the legendary dogs so I was under the impression it was a legendary.

Pretty much in the same boat. She's gone so far as to stop me from killing myself and some days I find it hard to even think of her much less actually spend time with her. It's honestly why I learned to let her have her time so she can actually have conversation with people. It seems she's really lonely and I hate that.

Also, yes Absol a cute.

Last couple of times I went out I didn't even need my headphones cause I just spent the time walking narrating to my tulpa.
Tomorrow will be my first day walking to class since I started working on my tulpa, I think I'm really running out of things to talk about, I've mainly been explaining the world to her, I even showed her how to shower. (In a honestly non-lewd and educational way.) I wish she was vocal already so we could have more potential for conversation, but I know she's doing her best to develop.

Anyway give me some talk sink holes for what to say to my tulpa, if you guys got any advice.

I was happy just having anything spoken about, talk about your favorite game or show, talk about what you want to do when she's older, talk about your goals in life, just look around and describe the most mundane things, just get to the point where your general internal monologue is addressed to her.
>>

I didn't ask your name, thinking about it. Someone else said it in thread, and I assumed it was your name. Fair point anyway, thinking about it, it's not exactly hard.

Do you have any stories about doing dungeon things in the Wonderland?

mmh, the last one we did was an adventure in one of the worlds host made while he was getting his jollies off fantasy cartography, I played a paladin of the glorious order of the Boiling Heart and my sister played a bard, and our goal was to join up with the enclave of my order holding out inside a ruined city ruled by the dead to help fight them off.

The gate was shut so we took a small rowboat into the cove under the city, but found it had been infested by totally not skaven, on the way through the warren I was badly injured and Mia ran out of healing magic but we eventually made it to the exit, however to escape a massive gate had to be raised, and the hoard had kept pace with us.

What followed was an amazing series of rolls that allowed me to fight off an effectively endless hoard of ratmen without losing the last shred of my health while Mia raised the gate, eventually slipping through the crack at the bottom and into the light of day. We made it to the enclave as the dead are generally quite docile in daytime, and things stopped there for now, out next goal is to survive the night in the enclave and then venture out in the morning with members of my order to retake the gatehouse and raise the gate so that the bulk of our men can march in to fight the dead in earnest.

I've done DnD, and I'm having a hard time deciding if it seems like a normal "This is an adventure and these are things we're fighting" or an actual DnD set up would be more fun when doing this.

It's a wonderland, so does it actually cause you any pain to get injured like that?

It's really toned down, it registers as just enough pain to be immersive.

Since it's wonderland it's easy to have whole sessions without combat though, I can have lots of fun just getting on a cart with Mia and Host and just chatting while we ride to the next town then going about and at most getting into a bar fight or something.
>>
>>3170858
I feel like if I did a dungeon thing in a wonderland, I would literally make Wonderland, from Alice in Wonderland. The world was really fucking neat, and had enough span to it for all sorts of things to happen.

>I can have lots of fun just getting on a cart with Mia and Host and just chatting while we ride to the next town then going about and at most getting into a bar fight or something.

I always hated these parts of DnD, but having real conversations with people in this setting sounds like it would be much more enjoyable.

It works really well in wonderland, normally I don't recommend dungeon world, because it has a lot of issues, but it works super well for wonderland stuff.

Plus I get to be a cute orc paladiness.

There are lots of super hero systems, but I don't know enough to recommend any.

I see mutants and masterminds talked about a lot though. You could play exalted if you want a ridiculous super high power fantasy campaign.

a few months? I don't remember exactly.

Have you decided anything about your tupper?

If you want to stick your metaphorical dick deeper into the community you may want to kit a few ircs and forums. rizon has a handful of tulpas channels which is primary stopping grounds, anti-pun pointed out after I said that, and I think info made their own irc server.
>>
>>3171308
Tupper will be female. Leaning towards kitsune in hopes, but I generally understand that they might not want to stick with that, so that's pretty open. Right now I'm leaning towards red hair, a personal favorite of mine.

I'm working on the physical portion of it, but I get that a lot of it will probably change based on their personal preference, so I'm not trying to set anything in stone.

My name was extrapolated from the abomination that was my starting form and my sister's is the name of the mythological character she was supposed to take after but really really didn't one bit minus a few letters.

The main reason I lean towards Emily is because I used to crush on a girl named Sarah, and I don't want to have any kind of connection with that.

And I like Emily.

What was Mia originally supposed to be, as a species?
