Idiot question; I have a figma Black Lotus I got secondhand. I want to reattach her standby mode shoulder pads but they aren't popping on to the shoulder ball joints easily at all and I'm afraid of hamhanding the figure.
I've been trying to push the pads in onto the ball parts from multiple angles with mo dice. Is there anything I'm doing wrong? Should I use some warm water on the parts?

I had the same problem with mine trying to put her combat mode shoulder pieces on. I didn't use any warm water, just be persistent but very careful. My biggest issue with her is the crotch and butt guard pieces constantly falling off when handling her.
She's so delicate, I hardly ever take her off my shelf to re-pose her, it's shame cause her design works so well as a figma.

You know what fucking sucks? The fact that we don't have a single figma from any Type Moon series except Fate. Like, don't get me wrong, Fate is a pretty good series, and I'd argue that in some cases it may be worth the amount of attention it gets, but what the fuck GSM?
You don't want to make a figma of Gun God from Notes? You don't want Arcueid from Tsukihime? You don't want Aoko from Mahou? You don't want Ryougi from Kara? Jesus fucking Christ, I could go on and on but the one that seriously pisses me off is the lack of an Arcueid figma except a fucking phantasmoon figure, which is literally a slap in the face. To give non-fans an example of how fucked this is, imagine you waited your whole life for a articulable figure of Batman, and then, one was finally announced and you find out that it's a shitty version of the Adam West Batman with a very visible dong. And, his batarangs and gadgets are replaced with a plate of fucking curry.
I blame this on Saber. Before Saber, Arcueid was the hot blond Nasu chick. Not to mention that now that the Tsukihime Remake is all ages (thanks for alienating half of your fanbase Nasu), and that it'll probably come out in 2100, we're never going to see an Arcueid/Shiki/Anyone-Not-From-Fate figma.

Honestly, I would recommend the bootlegs.
You can get them on eBay usually in lots of 3, for less than €10 with free shipping directly from China. The quality is basically the same as the official Bandai ones except there's usually more air bubbles in the plastic, which doesn't really affect the stand's ability to hold up a figure.

Little Armory is what works best for figma. They're not the only ones, as I've had some success with some Marvel Legends firearms. Some cheap 99 cent store action figures about the size of G.I. Joes come with oversized weapons that tend to work with figma as well. Actual G.I. Joe and most other 1/18 figures are far too small. The HALO: Reach line had weapons that scaled pretty decently as well, same for the 4" MacFarlane Walking Dead line.
