It does look scaled to the SHF Ultraman, so must be smaller than the Ultra-Act one (assuming the old one was scaled to the UA, and that this new SHF ones are indeed SHF size).

Got my GC01 Ghost figure. I do love these things, good balance of gimmick, articulation and quality.
Also I like they made the mask detachable so you can move the head a little.
Kind of hoping they will go back and do pre-OOO Riders in this style and quality...maybe with another Decade like series.
So what's the verdict on which Ishinomori Hero Ghost's design is an homage of? Because Riders from W had some design inspirations (Drive was Zubat, Baron looked like Arashi, Wizard was Goranger, etc) placed in on purpose.

Kuuga was nowhere near easy to find, which led to him being re-issued ridiculously fast due to Bandai realising how much he was going for on the aftermarket and how much money they were missing by not making more.
Agito was pretty easy to find though, as he didn't sell nearly as well.
Decade will more than likely be another Kuuga, due to him being a fan favourite character. I hate myself everyday for having a terrible body and being stuck inside a hospital when he went up.

Puns aside, I think he and Poseidon just didn't really make that much of a splash. Aqua himself seems to get a lot of hate from the fandom too. But we just Figuarts of Kiva-La and Rider 3, and we have a Rider 4 protoype too, which tells me Bandai seems to be dipping into movie Riders to draw out the line further, so I wouldn't count him out just yet.

I hope Rider 3 did well too, not just because of that but because it's probably one of the most solid Figuarts I've picked up this year. Feels really nice and sturdy, with no big, obvious gaps in the sculpt. Even the pull-down hips look better than they usually do, since they're pretty well hidden by the suit design. My only issue is that the blue parts aren't actually weathered like the real suit and that the tiny chains can't really be posed, but that's kind of to be expected given the material and their size making that impractical as fuck.

It's more like the fact that the Ultra Brothers sell like hotcakes, and Bandai now has a reason to sell them again + they share similar body types.
The Ultra-acts are constantly reissued, so they aren't poorly selling or anything.

My problem with the Ultra Act line is the plastic feels cheap, it feels like I'm fiddling around with an American figure, and I just really cant stand it. Not that American figures are bad, it just feels like I'm playing around with a slightly more advanced Marvel Legend with Figuart style joints.
The scale also turned me off from the line since I mainly collect Figuarts, but this is just more of a personal bias.

Unfortunately, there are some releases with wonky QC. Not so much with plastic quality, but things like joint tightness.
Most releases are fine, though. But for dudes like Man, Bandai should really not fuck up the QC. Last reissue batch had an issue with a loose joint or two, and overly tight Timer.

Plastic difference wise, I think what people are noticing is, Ultra-Act is harder and lighter, and Figuarts is softer and heavier feeling. So the lower density feel make you think lower quality?
And scaling was all about matching to the long dead Sofubi size, so Ultra-Act being slightly bigger than SHF does nothing but hinder sales.

The scale never really bothered me personally. For Ultradudes I'm fine with seeing them a bit larger than the human characters and such.
I wish SICs got the scale treatment...

What do you guys prefer, in terms of cheaper Ultraman toys? The sofubi-esque Ultra Hero 500 toys or the Ultra Eggs?
I'm considering starting a collection of eggs myself, on top of what kaiju toys I already have. Their gimmick appeals to me for reasons I can't explain.
Only problem is they don't have eggs of all the characters I want. I'd buy an X egg in a heartbeat if they started producing them again.
