I don't see a break in the sculpt so it looks like the flaps are just part of the leg and not soft rubber. They looked spaced out enough to not get too much in the way.
Got in Mark 45 Iron Man and I'm really surprised by the paintwork. Knees are a bit stiff to move and the torso feels a little loose but at least Ultron has a fight partner.
How hard or pricey has the older Iron Man Figuarts have gotten? If I can get more Act stages or DI stages I can get something going.

The ones by Medicom were okay. The ASM1 one had great range but based on a shitty suit. The ASM2 one was severely handicapped by its waist crunch that weak by comparison to the first's.
Also QC issues and being too tall for SHFs (would be to the interest of people part of this thread obviously) for issues for both. Mine ASM2 got it pretty bad with loose joints and a knee that can't peg into the leg properly.
So for me, I can do with something else. Especially in SHF form considering most SHF I have owned (quite a few) have been very durable. I can only hope though that SHF Spidey is given the better ab and waist crunch engineering that Bandai has developed in recent years. Would kill me if they used their dated and old engineering they seem to put on SHFs they don't really care about or on characters they think don't need it.

The Marvel SHF have been getting a pretty good treatment, which is still somewhat shocking to me considering that they can't sell them in the West, where the biggest market for them would be. So I got Bruce today and he's totally amazing, one of the best SHFs I've gotten in a long, long time. But one of his hips is incredibly loose on the Y Axis (as in, lifting his leg to the side). It's fine and tight when moving it forward and back though. The thing is, I don't really understand the new hip assembly here, so I don't really get how to tighten it. Anyone know?

That aside though, man.....I'm blown away. The sculpt is phenomenal, the new facial printing tech they're using looks great, and his joint have really nice range. I am particularly impressed by his ab and waist balljoint range, and the ease of movement on his head and neck (thank god they stopped using those frustrating ass wrist joints for the necks, and switched to balljoints like a sane company would). I wish his ankles had a little more range in all directions, but what we got isn't bad.
I hope they make other outfits for him. Game of Death would be rad. Though if they're gonna do it, they kinda wasted the yellow and black packaging on the "basic" Bruce.

It's a simple set up. The lateral movement comes from a disc hinge that is pinned (with an exposed peg) to the inner top thigh swivel piece. If you heat up the upper thigh and remove it from the thigh swivel piece, you will be able to access it. You can fully disassemble it using more heat and a small precision-size Torx screwdriver head, pushing the peg through from one side to the other. From there, tightening techniques of your own preference would come in.

They're just okay, but they're worth their very low aftermarket prices. Paint is decent, articulation is lacking, particularly in there being no chest articulation at all, and the waist only rotates, no up or down.
The pros are that they come with their own stand, a total of 4 faceplates, and a ridiculous amount of hands. Again, the cheap prices are a good pro as well. If you love Love Live, it's worth it to at least get your best girl.

I've warmed to her quite a bit. The feet are a lot more stable than the FO Stormtrooper and she scales well enough with other SHFs that it doesn't bother me (not to the same extent Vader did anyway).
The cape does gets in the way of crouching poses but to be honest I'm never gonna display her like that anyway. And after seeing the fingerprint magnet that is the model kit, I'm satisfied with the silver they used.

I don't understand why so many people want a chromed six-inch figure. It never quite looks right due to the size disparity and unless they spend a small fortune on the metallising process it WILL chip and eventually flake off of its own accord. Not to mention being a fingerprint magnet.
I have no idea why people are jizzing themselves over the Mafex Phasma either, to give it some extra height they simply stretched out her midsection, and it looks terrible. The wired cloth cape is the only part of that figure worth getting excited about. Plus I absolutely don't trust Medicom to provide quality chrome, or not so something amazingly stupid like metallise soft plastic parts, based on their RAH track record.

The scale and cape honestly don't bother me much. She looks tall enough, and the worst part of the cape is that it shifts her center of gravity backwards enough that you have to compensate for it.
The loose hands though, have been endlessly frustrating. That, combined with the bigass gun and her weak hand to hold it mean that things pop off waaaaay too often. Try to have her two-hand the gun? The wrist falls off and takes the gun with it every single time.

This is probably a dumb suggestion, but are you sure you're pushing her hands all the way into place on the wrist pegs? On my Phasma, her hands were very tough to pop into place the very first time, but they've held firmly ever since and I haven't had them pop off or anything during handling.
I quite like the Figuarts myself, but the main thing that I enjoy about it is the sculpt/proportions. The sculpt has more feminine lines to it (especially in the legs) that I don't think are particularly accurate, but they look so dang good to me, haha.

I just tossed all her hands in a bowl of hot water to try, and I don't think that's it. Some of them stay on there better than others, but every one is loose enough that it'll pop off when you swivel the wrist all the way to the side. I have half a dozen figuarts that use the ball pegs for their wrists, and none of them are even close to this bad.
