Monthly Building Challenge:
Your challenge this month is to design a Microfighter for a vehicle that doesn't have one yet. It can be of any property, as long as it has 100 or less pieces, seats 1 minifig, and is cute and chibi. Get swooshing!

== SDCC NEWS REVIEW ==
Lego has been revealing a bunch of 2017 sets lately. So far we have:
DC Superheroes
>Mighty Micros Batman vs Killer Moth
>Mighty Micros Wonder Woman vs Doomsday
>Mighty Micros Superman vs Bizarro
Marvel Superheroes
>Mighty Micros Spider-Man vs Scorpion
>Mighty Micros Iron Man vs Thanos
>Mighty Micros Wolverine vs Magneto
>Hulk vs Red Hulk
>>5780812
Post Hulk?
>>5780817
>No Disney Castle reveal
Fuck.
>>5780829
Is that a rumored big set? I haven't heard about that before.
>>5780817
>hulk and another hulk but he's red
> and also woman hulk and her red counterpart
>they're also in cars, kinda
I don't think I'll ever understand comics.
>>5780832
D2C set of it was confirmed a while back, but there's nothing else known yet.
>>5780817
Only one I truly want of those is Thanos Mighty Micro, and even then half of that set sucks.
Maybe red She-Hulk and Wolverine because I kinda liked X-men way back when, but most likely not.
>>5780817
>micros set has a large variety of really cool minifigs
>they all have short legs
I mean, I understand why but goddamn.
>>5780848
>really cool minifigs
Well, if you can get past the faces, they're all pretty nifty in their own right.
And it's not like normal long legs are expensive on BL.
Anyone have a list of how expensive it would be to collect all of the current Iron man minifigs? Including Tony Stark iterations.
>>5780854
Probably about 1000 Hulks.
>>5780817
I like how Lego is copying bootlegs now. Take back everything that you have lost!
>>5780829
>Epcot ball set might come in the future too
I want it.
>>5780868
Those bird tits are nice, but not nearly fat enough.
>>5780865
Red Hulk is a Marvel creation.
>13 trans-purple studs on one Bonkle-set, there's only a handful total on BL
>4 of those on the Spiderman Bridge and suddenly there's a fucking explosion of them on BL
It's amazing how little people want to get Bonkle, even when it has unique and highly sought after stuff.
>tfw finally found my old bin of Lego in the garage that I thought was lost years ago
>it's all in a giant bin with my 9 and 11 year younger brother's Lego on it as well
>it's frosted on the sides so I can't see very well what's in it
This is suffering. I know for a fact that there's some HP stuff, as well as some Adventures and other such themes, but I can't dig into it, and I honestly don't have any patience to sort it all out.
>>5780873
I've got some, and I use it, and it just doesn't really feel like Lego. Not enough standard System connections.
>>5780829
So far we've got this leak.
Not bad actually.
Is that a new hair piece for tinkerbell?
>>5780885
It's not about the CCBS system itself.
But when there's a set that has a recolor everyone and their mother has been asking for, and NO ONE buys it for that really says something about the theme.
>>5780888
>Mickey, Minnie and Daisy have new torsos
>Dolan is exactly the same
>>5780888
>No nanofig for Tinkerbell
One job
>>5780888
>>5780888
>>5780900
Hory sheet
I'm guessing $150
>>5780893
JUST
>>5780904
It's $350.
But it's also 60 wide.
>>5780906
And now I want young Scrooge minifig again. Fuck you.
>>5780906
Actually, fuck Dolan.
I want Scrooge McDuck.
>>5780683
trust me, it's way more than 608 pieces... but there is a fair amount of technic
>>5780907
fugg
Got the box this time.
>>5780817
>Thanos in a vehicle based set
>Doesn't come with the Thanos-copter
Damn Lego, do you even want my money?
>>5780817
>Thanos' fist mobile
>Magneto's magnocar
>Bizarro's Bizare Adventure care
i didn't even know i wanted this
>>5780891
Which set is that?
>>5780948
They're prolly saving that for Infinity War or something
>>5780865
>bootleg has molded toes
>connection unstable
DAMN YOU BL I can't place my order!
One item was already bought!
>>5780917
I can see more studs than I can technic holes.
It's system m8.
>>5780900
MICKEY MAGICIAN CAP IS IN THE CHEST
This only confirms more disney CMs!
I challenge someone to make a LEGO version of this image
who's hungry?
>>5781208
It's both m8.
>>5780272
Ill post here too!
Got any better pics of that purple jetbike? I need it.
>>5780272
>those mutated Disney characters
I'm sorry, I can't enjoy this image.
>>5780817
Are there any yellow legs with red boots?
Alternately, do you think Lego will ever do a classic Iron Man?
>>5781329
Well, the Mighty Micro is a start. So it's possible they'd do a classic one.
So the blaster turrent that comes with the First Order Battle Force is pretty shit.
So I remade it.
1/3
>>5781384
Still need to replace the white plate and black brick behind the eye with grays. Also the black plates on the top.
But other wise, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
2/3
>>5781397
3/3
>>5781257
me, give me a banana hotdog
>>5781384
>turrent
Its turret
>>5781464
I will never understand what created the belief that there is an "N" in turret.
>>5781470
I don't get it either.
It really pisses me off when I see that, especially when people talk about tanks and stuff. It really shows they have no clue what they are discussing.
>>5781478
I know, it's so fustrating :^)
>>5781329
Why does this Iron Man have nipples and a ghetto booty?
>>5781508
Foreshadowing.
>>5781508
>>5781512
LOL
>>5780817
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW shit
>>5781559
wait, is that a Ghost Rider Hulk?
>>5781567
Ghost Rider/Venom/Rulk
That series was fucking metal.
>>5781568
>Venom I don't see it
But Christ, Ghost rider Hulk? I feel bad for whoever needs justice.
>>5781570
Venom basically makes the leather suit and morphs their teeth and tongue. Otherwise Ghost Hulk would be a giant flaming skeleton.
>>5781573
Ah I see. How terrifying.
>Johnny Thunder will never be relevant again
I'll never be happy
>>5780888
Has anyone seen these? Popsugar put up detail pics a little early.
>>5781677
Can anyone guess who these details represent?
>>5781677
post them
>>5781678
Better question: do any of these things actually stump? Are there any you actually don't recognize?
>>5781683
>>5781679
Give me a few minutes, anon.
>>5781688
You know, it would be pretty cool if they also made a small theme where each set represented a section of the park. This big fucker would represent Fantasyland, and there would be one set for Tomorrowland, Adventureland, etc.
>user from malaysia with 0 feedback orders stuff worth 40 bucks from my store and pays with Paypal
So, being a bit paranoid, if he orders a claim that he didn't get the stuff trough paypal, is it enogh to show them that I have a claim that I won't be responsible for lost goods if you choose to ship it non-registered?
Also, if I withdraw the money from my paypal can he still automatically get the money if he file a claim?
>>5781691
Or maybe they could do different versions of this set for each of the different Disneyland castles. The Sleeping Beauty Castle in Paris would have a Maleficent dragon build.
>>5781691
>yfw they make one for the Epcot sphere spaceship thing
>>5781697
Last picture with surprise Dolan.
>>5781701
>the fucker is sleeping on Cinderella's bed
>>5781702
Pretty sure it's Sleeping Beauty's bed.
>>5781706
Why? It's Cindy's house; all the other princesses just left their shit lying around.
>>5780900
>plain old silver armor
>350 dollar set
GOD FUCKING DAMN IT
>>5781695
I could see them doing a small one as an architect set.
>>5781678
Cindrella shoes.
>>5781573
but i thought symbiotes were weak to fire
>>5781836
Ghost Riders' flame isn't normal fire IIRC.
Post cute/chibi animals
>>5780900
Those shields look great.
I hope they're not printed.
>>5781257
Do you have Scooby Snacks?
>>5781677
>Wizard hat can't be put on mickey
>>5781692
I just force tracking on that kind of order.
>>5781747
Does it only come with 5 figures? Seems like quite a rip-off.
lego order came in! except for my pick a bricks that i ordered only to put me over the top for the knight. told lego, hoping for some free stuff! what are you guys doing today?
Just found a lone S12 wizard at my Target.
>>5782069
how do you know its a wizard?
>>5782074
Why else would they charge me four hundred and eighty-nine freedompennies, plus tip
Goddammit I hope this isn't a universal price hike.
>>5782001
Nah man, D2C sets are never about the minifigs. While the exclusive prints and stuff are a nice bonus, these big guys are sets you buy for the build.
>>5782074
But seriously it's the only one in the wave with a dress slope so it's pretty easy to tell
>>5781701
>Unikitty tails for bedframes.
>>5780900
Should I buy Vacation Getaways, Ghost Rider Team-up or Hot Dog cart?
>>5782170
yes
>>5782170
all or nothing
>>5782185
I would pick GR out of those options.
>>5782170
>>5782185
Ok, so let's be slightly more systematic and try and eliminate more of your options. What do you plan on doing or building with those three sets? Do you just want Ghost Rider for the figures? Is the hotdog cart just a meme or a way to get buns? Will you display vacation getaways' bear or will the parts rot in a bin?
>>5782087
Target does this everywhere. They mark up the blind bags AFTER a new series comes out.
I got the Angler Fish from a few years back off of ebay. It smelled like an expressed dogs asshole. Which one of you fuckers sent me that disgusting thing?
When is S16 out again?
>>5782212
I want the bike, GR himself and the street sign. Everything else is whatever.
I want the hot dog cart because it's so dumb and I love it. Would also make it a pussywagon for my lone hot dog man. Minidolls can rot in hell all I care.
I just want the boat. Will probably build the bear too if it doesn't use those parts
>>5782284
September, but they should start popping up in August.
>>5780674
Kojima made use of Lego when designing MGS1 levels
>vehicle set
>>5782319
>Nexo Knight vehicle set
>>5781508
The nipples tune in radio signals and the round red things on his hips are power packs?
>>5782327
I have all the
Lava Monsters
vehicles, so I'm a bit sick of vehicle sets. I want more
Lava Monsters
buildings, like towers or huts. I don't want to buy a second Volcano Lair just to use pieces to enlarge the main one
>>5782529
(sorry, i thought spoiler was active on this board)
next item in the ninjago magazine
>>5782604
A pirate that was in a polybag and the cheapest set of the wave?
Easy pass for me.
I watched fury road again
>>5782604
I got like 3 already :(
Rear view
>>5782604
I think Italy got this in late May. But we've missed both Horse and 2 Spiders from the Nexo Knights, so i guess polybag release order isn't the same across the world
>>5782625
Here in Finland we basically get every other magazine.
For example, Nexo-one went Lance->Robin->Lava Soldier. Every other one is skipped for some reason
>>5782624
Cute!
>>5782001
It comes with at least 2 Armored Statues, which are short leg minifigs.
>>5782635
Same here, Lance>Robin>Lava Soldier. Do you have any idea if magazine contents are skipped too? ...i kinda like Nexo Knights comics and artworks
>>5782649
No idea. I only bought one of the three and I have no idea where I put it.
I'm fairly sure all the other magazines follow the same schedule. I just don't keep such an close eye for them
>>5782660
It's full of advertising of sets i already own and drawing of little kids, but i really like the comic style.
Anyway, i wanted one or two horses but can't be arsed to buy them online. I guess i'll just wait and see
Kroger (grocery store) was having a ridiculous sale on Lego yesterday in southern Ohio. They were selling the ROTJ Final Duel set for $20 and the 4x stormtrooper transport for $3. I bought what I could, but someone got there before me. Later in the store I saw someone had hidden other sale items behind the cereal aisle. Tricky bastards.
>>5782668
>Final Duel for 20€
How is that even profitable? We never get those kinds of deals here. Best I've seen is 50% off and those are once in a blue moon
>>5782753
>>Final Duel for 40€
Fixed that for you
>>5782604
>speerharpune
is this german? I know they love them some compound words, but why did they put those two together?
>>5782604
TIS THIS IVORY LEG WHAT PROPELS ME
>>5782292
Get the Marvel set first then. You already have the Hot Dog Guy, and you don't care about minidolls, so the cart isn't a necessary purchase. You only want one build out of Vacation Getaways, and since it's a Creator set it will be easier to find later on anyway.
Go for vengeance, anon.
>>5783107
>that hair
HADES FIG WHEN
>>5783147
Next year I hope. Has there been much Herc merch in the past few years?
>>5783147
Technically not hair, it's molded to the head.
>>5783147
I could see Disney S2 that has Hades and Hercules.
Because let's be real, Disney S2 is coming. First series sold like hotcakes, and we all know how much Lego and Disney love money.
>>5783200
Yeah but Disney hates other companies more than they love money, I'm amused that they let lego do this stuff without buying them
>>5783152
Nope. But Hades is popular enough to be a recurring villain in KH and Disney World's own AR game.
I'm sure they already had Series 2 planned when they released the first one. They do exclusive prints, but never exclusive molds in D2C sets. Tinkerbell (with a different print perhaps) is a shoe-in for Series 2.
>>5783206
The main thing that's probably keeping Disney from buying TLG is the fact that Lego relies so heavily on Disney's rival for its digital properties. TT Games, Ninjago/Chima/Nexo TV shows, the theatrical films.. all under companies that Disney presumably hates already.
Today was a pretty good day
>>5783206
Lego is literally the biggest toy company in the world. Disney would not have the leverage to buy them.
>>5783235
Like they wouldn't have the leverage to buy Marvel or LucasFilms?
>>5783238
Both of those were in the shitter. Lego is still doing well.
>>5783234
they're so creepily headless
>>5783235
Has Disney ever bought toy companies? I think after the (perceived) failure of Infinity, they're happy with just licensing out when it comes to toys and vidya.
>>5783225
I think that if Disney truly wanted to buy Lego, they would've done it ages ago. They've been buddies for quite some time already
Hell, they even had one licensed set when Lego was still doing wooden toys.
>>5783245
>Hell, they even had one licensed set when Lego was still doing wooden toys.
For real?
>>5783253
http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/Wooden_LEGO_Pluto
>>5783256
Holy shit.
Hey TLG, can we have this as the bonus set for the month that Cinderella's Castle comes out?
So, how many of you guys are planning to go to Brickfair Virginia this year?
>>5783306
I'd like to go, but I have no money.
>>5780817
LEGO sent out a higher-res photo for the Hulk set.
>76078 Hulk vs. Red Hulk
>375 pieces
>59.99 USD
>January 2017
I'm seeing a lot of negativity towards this set, but it looks incredible to me. Can you imagine how they conceptualized it?
>Did you like the Mighty Micros but hate the short legs? Don't you fret, here's a racing set with fucking bigfigs!
>>5783335
What is "JBCR 131090" on the Hulk kart a reference to?
>>5783351
sshhh
>>5783351
JBCR is probably the set designer's initials. Don't know what the number stands for.
>>5783335
I like it, but 375 pieces for $60 is a bit steep.
>>5783374
With seven large plastic wheels and two big figs, I think it mostly balances out. Although I do wish it came with more minifigs to make it feel more like the equivalent of two Hulkbuster sets, or like Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas (which has 347 pieces at 60 USD).
>>5783387
Yeah but the batmech is fucking stupid with the net arm.
Working on a classic space themed character in my 'actionfig' scale
>>5783472
That face just screams "kill me."
>>5783483
Thanks, yeah I figured out a narrower shoulder/arm design
So I guess my neighbor works in some branch of Target, sounds like customer service. She says that daily, she and her department take a crazy high number of phone calls of people asking if they can still get discontinued Lego.
I am actually somewhat surprised.
>>5783485
sorry to freak you out anon
>>5783472
The shoulders seem too narrow. It's strange.
I was experimenting with wheels and built a flying car
>>5783566
Ok, THAT is neat. I love it. Looks very retro-future, and that's a good thing.
This is what happens when I don't get enough sleep and get Legos in the mail

>Not picking Crew Boss Harper as wearing it best
>>5781692
If there's no tracking he'll win any argument.
>>5783335
>59.99
Are they on crack?
I came across Buzz Lightyear's star command in my local used Lego shop. Skipped it and now I'm kicking myself for not buying it. I want that spaceship to land in my Shire.
>>5783335
>macy's thunder hammer 2.0
T-thanks Lego...
>>5783497
Hey, Anon who build the General Grievous Microfighter in the last thread. I just realised I had another Moc that would qualify for the challenge. This is my version of Moltor's Lava Smasher (exactly 100 pieces). And yes, it works just like it's big brother.
>>5783894
>that also looks really neat!
>>5783894
God dam dude that's rad as fuck. It's especially impressive that you managed to scale down the set's action feature into microfighter scale.
>implying this isn't the greatest set of all time
>>5783910
TLG had some real balls bringing out a set like this
So how do you guys go about storing instructions and stickers?
>>5783921
<------
>>5783922
How does it make you feel knowing that I keep everything except the clear bags?
>>5783932
Indifferent. To each their own. Personally, I don't have the desire or space to keep them.
You guys got any idea on what the part I circled could be. It kind of reminds me of the old bazooka piece but does not have the scope so I am left clueless.
>>5783947
Managed to get a better picture of the part
>>5783195
Really? Why is it not separate? Doesn´t look breakable in the slightest.
>>5783921
Stickers are all in a transparent envelope.
Instructions are sorted by size and sit in a cupboard. The biggest are in an extra plastic box so they are easier to get out of the cabinet and browse through.
I don´t really use instructions after building a set for the first time so I don´t know if it could be more efficient and I most definitely always forget that I even have a sticker collection.
Most people get folders for their instructions and make punchholes into the books but that doesn´t sit right with me. Maybe if all instructions were the same size but the differences make it hard to order them in a way that makes sense and easy to find.
>>5783947
>>5783948
When brightening the pic it looks like this lying on the side (the female stud showing to the right of the pic).
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=4733#T=C
Connected to another 1x1 SNOT brick.
The 1x2 grille plate is only connected with one stud, that isn´t really stable.
There is also this part that could work better:
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=15071#T=C
>>5783955
Tried the second link but it did not turn out so well. Will give the first one a try but this is as good as I think I could get it.
>>5783965
>No Apprentice?

[spoilersontoy]same reason there's no Kara[spoilerswouldbefunny]
>>5783894
Thats adorable! I need like army of those!
>>5780834
Comics are easy to understand. It's like any other medium like books or music. You experience them and get to know them in time.
But you're talking about superhero universe comics and I completely understand you there.
>>5783984
That's what I'm working on. I already built General Magmar's Machine of doom in a similar scale (also encorporating the transformation feature) and am currently working on Jestro's Charriott. I've got no idea how to build the big globlins from Beast Masters Charriott in Micro-fighter scale though.
>>5784010
Just use globlins for more hilarious effect
>>5780834
flash have car, Superman have car, you expect Hulk to walk?
>>5783951
>Really? Why is it not separate? Doesn´t look breakable in the slightest.
Polycarbonate doesn't have the friction that ABS or rubber can provide. The mohawk hairpiece sticks to a stud because it's rubber, but if that flame piece was separate, it wouldn't have enough friction to stay on.
Which really sucks because that's the only reason I was looking forward to GR.
>>5784054
Sure, but I'm not at home right now. Will share pics when I get home
>>5783932
>mfw I keep the clear bags, too
>>5783959
The piece on top is a fez, not a cone. As the other anon said, it's not a camera piece, it's two Travis bricks. The bottom of the brick on the left is facing right, and the bottom of the brick on the right is facing away from the camera. The round piece in the back is a Bionicle eye.
What's that image from, anyway?
space halftrack.. work in progress, eh.
>>5783603
Is that one one figure actually black and white, or did you edit the picture?
>>5784079
Halftracks are always cool.
>>5784092
The game she's from is shot in black and white
The bookshop near me in Phnom Penh has been restocked with chinky lego.
They still have the same old Lego sets at double msrp.
>>5784124
The mini Fast and Furious cars look 5 wide.
>>5784131
From the looks of it they are; 5 wide using the standard 4-wide windshield on jumper plates.
>>5784131
The little space sets combine into like a mixel max.
I got the new Ghostbusters set built up. I haven't seen anyone posting it, so I thought I might offer to show it off. Anyone want to see any of the details or figures?
>>5784137
To me, this is the weirdest thing they had.
>>5784140
sure, lets see it.
>>5784143
I think Airfix tried something a bit like this
>>5784140
Is it is good as I've been hearing?
As an aside, they really should have stuck to a single color on Wrath. The red is wrong, but all-red would have at least been consistent. Bastard looks green in the trailers.
>>5784144
ok
>>5784148
>Is it is good as I've been hearing?
The build it pretty clever. The seating is on jumpers so that the girls can all fit inside. The entire thing is like a rock until you add the interments on the roof. Even those stay put pretty well. I think the whole thing could use a tab more ground clearance. Also Ecto-2 is growing on me.
>>5784152
Heres the butt jumpers I mentioned. You can also kinda see the sticker they used on the front.
>>5784137
Those creative masters look cool. Almost like Transformers Combiners. Actually the picture on the bottom looks exactly like a yellow Devastator...
>>5784173
They didn't really need jumpers in an 8-wide car, did they?
>>5784234
Original Ecto-1 is 8-wide too and it doesn't fit two figs side to side.
Granted, most of the inside space of it is used for the windows, but still.
>>5784238
mine does ;)
>>5784071
me too, i just stuff them in the box and start building, because it's quicker than taking them to the bin

Yellow Spiderman is a very interesting thing. I like it.
...Is it the same color as Banana Suit? I don't know why that popped into my head...
thinking of making a monster high school. what kind of building would be cool?
>>5784554
russian architecture
it could be a pognant reminder of how the soviets were the real monsters of the latter half of the 20th century
>>5784554
>thinking of making a monster high school. what kind of building would be cool?
A regular high school building
>>5780817
if they wanted to do a hulk vs red hulk thing, they should've done brick built hulks (like groot or sentinel but better) with banner and ross figs. I don't get their weird vehicles. If they wanted to include vehicles, then give walters a luxury car that she bought on her lawyer salary that the hulk is comically too big for.
Has anyone seen the accompanying comic or whatever?
