So the Grey Polynians are being shipped out. Seems that Amiami has sent out request and HLJ is running a bit behind.

And remember all future Polynians will not have panel lines, now lets keep the conversations civil.

Release Schedule:

June
>Shamrock (Grey Flesh Version)
>Clover (Grey Flesh Version)

July:
>Mel Karon

August-October
>None

November:
>Emile
>Yume (Re-issue/Fixed Version)

Soon I'll have my expensive, tiny, grey plastic sex-robot. What a time to be alive.

Are polynian compatible with little armory hands and rifles?

Sadlsy no, they aren't. As cool as that sounds, the pegs for the Polynians are bigger than the ones from the Little Armory set. I know that the pic is comparing with an Assault Lily but those share the peg sizes with figma. Apologies for the bad lighting.
>>
>>5752853
If i buy hobby joints and I sand the peg until it fits, would it be prone to breaking? I got a lot of hobby equipment, so if a peg broke inside a hand it wouldn't be that bad.
>>
>>get payment request yesterday for gray Shamrock and Clover.
>>yen starts rising in value more as brexit sends ripples in the market.
>>Only pay ~$5 USD more than originally predicted months back.
>>still have Emil on PO.

Gonna be an agonizing 5months watching the exchange rate get worse.
>>
The exchange rate getting even worse right before release pretty much convinced me to cancel my gray orders. Yes I know I could panel line it myself and add a gloss coat to get back the promo shot look but I simply don't want to for $47+ shipping a figure. Back when I ordered it was $40 + shipping and they are such a barebones release already, plus I have no clue whether these grays fixed all the joint tolerance issues they ran into with Yume or not.
>>
>>5752892
Breakage is possible since it will be real thin in order to fit the gloves but its worth a shot if it breaking isn't a big deal to you. You would just have to sand one side to fit into the LA hands and that would let them hold the guns.
>>
>>5752929
nice!
The other thing I had in mind was to 3d print fixed joints, like the ones that came with the little armory gloves, but with different peg widths. But I'm not sure of what would be more sturdy
>>
>>5752936
That could work if you plan on having them in fixed poses and such. I dont think they'd need to be that strong since once you put them on they'll just be in that one position and not be moving like the fully articulated ones that figmas and other figures have.
>>
>>5752892
Alternatively, if the Little Armory hands are big enough, you can widen the peg hole with a 3mm drill.

I just noticed that Mel has a big cylindrical tumor protruding from her back, and it doesn't appear to be removable. Like, it's in all of the promo photos, I just never noticed it. That's somewhat offputting.

It's present on the GK as well, but it's much smaller and less obtrusive there.

They still haven't fixed that nasty gap on the waist? Also, the paint she does have is still sloppy as hell considering they have so much less work to do now. I expected the black in her white hair to be a LOT cleaner and lined up with the sculpt.

Good lord, they didn't even get close. There shouldn't be that much white visible in the raised up area meant to be painted black on >>5753215 more disappointed by the minute. The original Clover wasn't perfect either but it was better than this and had more paint apps. How can you fuck up this bad when you literally have a handful of things to do right? Is their factory incompetent?
>>
Anyone else planning to paint their gray clover's hair dark like gray Shamrock's?
>>
>>5753208
Yume also has one. It's for back-mounted accessories.
>>
>>5753224
I feel the exact opposite way. They turned out too basic and plain. It's no good for retail toys upwards of 5k with no accessories.

>>5753208
>>5753425
Ok yeah, that is a little ugly. I guess they made it bigger to mount the gun and board.

I meant to say that I'm liking the design of grey Shamrock. And I agree, these dont seem like figures that are worth upwards of 5k especially without the panel lining that was meant to help them stand out a bit more.

I cancelled mine, too. It may be easy enough to just line the panels yourself but for how expensive it is for what was already such a barebones figure, I feel I shouldn't have to.

I preordered the new shamrock from hlj over a month ago, but despite the product being listed as low in stock i still haven't been charged, and my order is still being processed.

Should I be concerned? I've never preordered from hlj before so I'm a bit uncertain.
>>
>>5755031

They've been up for preorder for probably 5 months or so. And people had issues getting their Yume from HLJ....she got backordered for weeks for some.

Considering you preordered so late, I'd guess you're probably on the low end of the list for shipping out. Hate to say it, but don't be surprised if you get a "backstocked" or your order is processing for awhile.

I just checked my emails, and according to that i ordered her on the 11th of March, over three months ago. I'm really bad with keeping track of time so i guessed conservatively.

Am i still going to be backstocked?

>>5755038
That's pretty cute, I've heard that there's a slight colour difference between the grey versions of clover and shamrock, is that true?
>>
>>5755031
Does it show up in your account as "Order is being processed"? Have you checked your email to see if they sent the payment request? That may be it and you just have to pay from the link in the email if not then it might be like what >>5755035 said. I had to wait about a week/week and a half for my Yume as she was immediately put into "Backordered".

But, Seeing as how they were still open for orders up till their release and are are still "low stock" you might just end up getting the payment request later today (Saturday). I'm pretty sure you'll get yours since your order is processing and not "backordered"/"discontinued" or anything.

>>5755038
Kinda digging that Shamrock body swapping.
>>
>>5755052
No payment request, but the order is processing. I guess I'll just wait a few days and hopefully it'll work out.
>>
>>5755059
Yeah, you may have to wait a bit. I'd say hopefully by later on today you should get you payment request since its in processing and since you did order a bit later on after PO opened.

I don'd think so, it shouldn't anyway i think. HLJ works by sending out request in an order somewhat like "first orders in, first orders out" and such. So it kinda helps to PO something soon on there in order to get it faster when it releases. As long as they still have stock, listed as In Stock or Low Stock, you'll be fine, plus your order is peing processed so all you're waiting for is the email for payment.
>>
>>5755073
Except that's wrong.

I ordered the first day before they sold out along with Yume awhile ago. HLJ is just naturally slow with everything.

Even more so with these figures. I think my Yume took almost 2 weeks for a payment request and that's ordering her first in line.
>>
>>5755038
I already own normal Shamrock, and am mighty tempted to get the alt color. White and Black or Pink and Grey just go too well together.
Plus, alt body for Emil.

Anyone can put white Clover's hair on Yume?
>>
>>5755073
Thanks, that's reassuring. This is my first figure that wasn't mass produced and hung on pegs in the toy aisle. Shamrock is so cute, she's a qt robutt with a package. I love it.
>>
>>5755078
Oh, well thanks for correcting me. I ended up ordering my Yume the last time she opened for orders and went with the assumption that I had to wait for ordering her near release. And yeah I agree that HLJ is slow with things like this but its where I do my shopping. Plus the private warehouse is great too.
>>
>>5755086
You mean he?
I love how cute he is though, yeah. Somehow works well next to any of my other toys.
>>
>>5755038
Wait, the hair is removable?
>>
Just an update fellow polynons, I received my ems tracking number from amiami just minutes ago so should be here in a few days. A little info about my order, I preordered a month ago first time with amiami. Hopefully others are getting their shipment notifications.
>>
>>5755095
Yeah i know it's supposed to be he, I'm just pretending Shamrock is female so i can have a transgender figure. I've never seen a one, i guess i want something that's relateable or whatever.
>>
>>5755097
Yeah. I plan on giving my original Clover grey Clover's hair and original Shamrock's ear barrettes to make an all-white catgirl.

...and maybe give her his bulge, too. Maybe.
>>
>>5755101
>I'm just pretending Shamrock is female so i can have a transgender figure.

>>
>>5755579
Sexuality is weird man, everyone worries about it so much, but after a certain point i realised it doesn't matter. Why does it matter what a person is attracted to? As long as they aren't hurting anyone who cares. Dicks are great, but so are boobs, butts, and puss.
>>
>>5753561
This looks really nice, but at the risk of enraging the BUY DAIBADI OR ELSE autist, it also looks like something that really needs panel lines on the painted version.
>>
>>5755086

>>
so now that people are getting their payment requests for HLJ. How many of you are going to wait and see if the Yen to whatever will improve on Monday or Tuesday instead of paying at the rate right now?
I just notice the preorder prices from HLJ was ¥4,845 for Polynian FMM Clover (Gray Flesh).
Guess they did give a small discount for those that preodered earlier.
>>
>>5756148
Yeah they gave their discount for the PO's of the Greys and Mel but didn't give one to Emil. I was curious too about how some might wait to see if the dollar would improve but I'm sure people will pay now in order to get their dark skinned robots sooner.
>>
My order has been shipped and should be here in a few days. While they are on their way, I was wondering what would you guys recommend I use for filling out the missing panel lines? Friend says to just use a fine tip marker but I I want to hear other options.
>>
>>5756148
>>5756180
Nah, my exchange rate is pretty shitty anyways, it was stable at 7.3 and now is 6.9, it's not even worth it to wait for it to climb again, however they are going to wait on hlj private warehouse until after the closing day of my credit card so I can pay for the shipment next month
>>

pigging backing off this comment, it's really easy to panel line just see youtube tutorials

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exT3VwzWpu8

literally run the tip through the line and rub off excess. bam done. Im going to try white then an aqua over top to see if it's pretty.
>>
>>5756314
Far better than the alternative, LOL.

But really, shut up. This is /toy/ not your twitter account.
>>
>>5756237
a fine tip marker works fine too, but after it drys ,it will be semi glossy. it's not that noticeable but you will be able to see it with close ups.
But they are cheap and you can just get purple and grey and you'll be all set.

Do not use black, it will be too dark

You can even just use a lead pencil (mechanical pencil). if it rubs off just re pencil it.

The condition an SAL arrives in from Japan is 100% due to your local post office. Japan post takes care of their parcels. Once it gets on the plane and gets unloaded by your airport is when any kind of shit happens. Lost? Your post. Run over by a truck? Your post. MIA for 3 months? Your post.

So the big SAL question is - do you trust your post office?

Here's a question.
What (if any) would be the problem of gluing this piece to the lower torso? All it really does is stabilize the joint, and with it glued in place, it seems it would make that stability stronger.
It doesn't seem like it would hamper any movement or range of motion.

Black would be nice. Honestly, the originals had a bit too much pink in parts, which was a bit sloppy, so even if you go over them in pencil, as long as you stay in the lines, you'll be okay.

Just got my gray Shamrock today; he's cute as fuck, but he's got panel lines on his feet. There isn't any anywhere else on his body.

They're kind of sloppy, and they don't even go all way up to the ankle joint. They stop like 3mm before the joint. Anyone else have this?

I don't mind spending a good amount on a figure either. But these things have no accessories and little paint. I just refuse to eat the cost for something like that as a late tax, when it doesn't come with jack shit or isn't some hugely popular character figure or something to really carry such a fat late tax.
>>
>>5764451
I totally get you, mate.
>>
>>5763698
>>5763703
They all have that. Clover too. It's considered a painted detail and not a panel line. Sort of like the black painted parts on the shoulder and thighs.
>>
>>5764451
They will probably get re-released again at some point anyway. Fuck paying rare aftermarket prices.

In terms of being barebones that's actually part of their charm. They are super expressive and fun to pose precisely because there isn't a bunch of overlapping parts and soft goods to worry about. You don't have to worry about shit breaking, popping off, getting scratched, chipped or cracked (soft goods on figma when bent too far like Pit's clothes).

More face parts would nice but you do technically get that. All the faces and hairs are interchangeable. So if you buy Clover and Shamrock you can interchange those two. Then as you buy more releases (especially ones that include 3+ face parts) you can get so much more out of the barebones Clover/Shamrock. Plus they are compatible with Frame Arms shit from Kotobukiya which lets you do some cool stuff too.
>>
>>5764429
Fuck those cat ear things, I still don't know what to do with them. I refuse to glue them in because I wanna partswap, but I don't know if the old joint method will keep it in place.
>>
>>5764366
That's awesome, are there any other kits/figures that are compatible?
>>
>>5761252
Yup. That's the idea. I emphasize with robots too. It's illogical but comforting.

Anon i know this is bait, but I'm probably strange compared to other trannies in that i don't think of gender as anything more than a hypothetical construct. It's something people make up to make the world easier to understand or organise. Biological sex exists, but we've put a lot of arbitrary nonsense around it. I don't think of myself as strictly female, i just want to look and act a certain way, and for people to see me a certain way.
>>
>>5764443
What does that have to do with anything?

A) The part in question is the same on both figures. Having it glued in place has no bearing on anything.

B) Not everybody has your sexual fetish, faggot.

Do you have ANY reading comprehension skills?

If she comes with those hands, she would be the most awesome of their toys, seriously. The posability of the core design combined with individually articulated fingers would make her very expressive, and the fact she could swap her hands with any of the other toys would increase her utility and demand.

Imagine shamrock giving the finger to other toys. Literally.

>>
>>5769180
CAD student reporting.
Not >>5769102, but he seems correct. Looking at those renderings the fingers lack internal outlining of any joints, that is, there aren't any more wire frames to outline a jointed mechanism be it hinge, ball, etc. That isn't to say it's impossible, but it's rather complex for such small hands that aren't much bigger (seemingly) than a some MG gunpla's (I have a Rick Dom that had ball joints at the main knuckles and hinges at the second knuckles on each of the four fingers). But for all segments to be that articulated, highly unlikely given size constraints and cost for engineering. Remember that Daibadi is still a small company, so that level of complexity likely is too big a hassle to produce without it being flimsy as hell or having QC issues.

I wish it weren't so, but seems Belmonts hands are fixed posed.
>>
>>5769317
Capping this to post and laugh in your face when you're proven wrong.

Just like that faggot who said Figma Vitruvian wasn't going to have extra arms and legs "because of muh enginering and muh cost"

Do you not get the fact that the fingers will most likely be molded in a bent position and the only articulation will be in the bottom knuckle closest to the hand? probably a rod that runs through the base of each finger attaching it to the hand. Just like That old Savage Dragon figure, several Hulk figures and a shitload of robots and Gundam kits. Shit. My gashapon Drossel figures have finger articulation and they're half the size of a Figma.

Nobody's talking about completely articulated finger joints, dipshit.

Sorry for taking ages to answer this. Yes I am interested in making a pregnant lower torso, male or female version but I have some problems using Shapeways that I will try to explain fully. But the tl;dr is money.

For the first pair of heels I made, I prototyped them on my lab's printer, they were ugly and messed up but the peg holes were good enough to tell me if my tolerances were right. From there I ordered them on Shapeways to check to see it the tolerances were maintained across switching materials. This seemed to work out but I found that the first batch was loser then I would have hoped. I adjusted the design but not before a few people had them.

Since then I have been working on improving my lab's printers and my methods to try to get them to produce acceptable results. I can produce things far cheaper and iterate on versions much more quickly then using Shapeways. The problem I have is that while I can prototype a part my self before sending it off to Shapeways if it is a big part or I don't get it right the first time it starts getting too expensive for me.

I am getting to the point were I am happy with what my printers are producing but I realize that they still have imperfections and horizontal striations that give the parts a look that some might not like.
What it comes down to is that if people really want stuff in the Shapeways materiel I think I can do that for some parts but for bigger and more complex stuff I don't think I can afford it right now.

To answer whether or not I could make a lower torso available on Shapeways I am not quite sure yet, but the torso is already the largest part and with with the additional volume of the baby bump I am not exactly hopeful but maybe.

Jesus fucking Christ, how fucking old are you?
This is 2nd grade level grammar here, you illiterate shit-heap. You must be in your 20's and you can't even grasp a concept that most 7 year-olds have mastered.
The worst part of it is, you not only won't admit that you're ignorant, you'll try and weasel out of it with some half-assed excuse, or try and shift the focus off of yourself by calling me a grammar nazi. Instead of actually improving yourself, you'll remain willfully ignorant.
>>
>>5777241
You can always design the torso to be hollow with walls thick enough to support the weight and tensions of it being handled with escape holes for the dust as small honeycombs in the concave areas where the joints are inserted. Then just put support walls in some spots for reinforcing the walls. That's the trick to shaving off the costs. More work, but worth the cash it saves.

I lack my own printer so I rely totally on Shapeways. Sculpteo is faster by comparison but more expensive, particularly for small orders (cool thing with them though is that a CAD file of multiple unconnected parts is counted as a single print unlike Shapeways).

>>
>>5777397
I haven't thought of doing an array of escape holes like that, thank you for that insight. It would probably look pretty cool to boot.

The lack of a part count of Sculpteo sounds nice, the price on Shapeways can get really messed up when you try to do something like a whole action figure. They offer putting a hard shell bag around the parts but it just as often cost more in plastic then you save in the part count. The best price I can get with a ton of parts is to put them on a sprue tree.

As an aside yeah I am very fortune to have access to printers like I do, even as shitty as they are, being able to throw time instead of money at the problem works well for me right now.
