Bionicle had a huge problem in that the comic issues are extremely episodic and they important stuff is in the books.
For example, Makuta dies off-screen between issues and I think the same thing happened with the Bohrok queens. It's all made worse by the fact that the comics don't tell you "hey dumbass, go read this book." There's np flow to the narrative.

Since I'm crazy, I got 3 deluxe Grooves so I'll talk about them:
Pro:
-Solid ratchets
-Great articulation, no lose limbs on any of them
-Almost everything pegs in well
-Almost no paint issues
-Can stand, and hold poses much better than previous figures
Cons:
-Some areas are painted, but will start losing paint since they have to tab in to something (the chest, arms, shoulders)
-The split wheel is a pain to put together, even after you figure out how to do it properly
-Peg for the HFG was too thick on 2 of them, so I sanded them down a bit so they wouldn't crack the peg
-You need to be careful while transforming the arms, since they might be too tight (all 3 of mine were), so applying excessive force might break it
-The front wheel is held in place by 2 very thin (and hollow) tubes, so be extremely careful of falls, or to press down on it while moving (like in bike mode), since they might snap

The shoulders being stiff to move is actually a concern of mine for my Groove. Just had the arm pop out of the ball joint transforming him to robot from bike earlier. Will have to be very careful moving that shoulder bit around lest the ball itself snap off.

Transformers is just as much a JP property as US. The only problem with a potential musou game is that Activision has the US rights to TF games so if a JP Transformers musou game did come out it would probably stay there and you'll have to blunder your way through moonrunes to play.

I was lucky and got Shockwave off HTS right when he first was released, since he hit there long before anywhere else. Went to Universal today. Picked up Evac. They actually had Sky Lynx for sale... but it was marked at $40, so don't bother making a trip for that.
Evac himself is okay. He's a $25 bay deluxe park exclusive... and, well, there isn't anything completely awful about him that would make me really regret the purchase.
His ankles can rock to the side, which is nice even though I would've preferred forwards-and-backwards articulation instead. The only issue I have with him is that his hands will be scraping the floor in vehicle mode, and his front wheels will never touch the ground as a result of that.

You know what; I like that. It was so early on that Megatron and Optimus always needing to be leaders wasn't hammered in just yet. And while Optimus and Megatron where made leaders because they where the biggest toys in '84, they where soon eclipsed, which made the biggest toy=leader thing invalid. Its a weird choice, yes, but I like the fact that he was a leader despite being essentially an accessory. It breaks the mold of him being a typical minion and becoming something greater. That's something I really like about all the G1 bios; at least in the first few years. Yeah, I'm planning on doing this at some point. Pic related. My universe cheetor's back legs are kinda fucked tho so I'm gonna have to buy a junker. Tried giving the ankles some balljoints so i could spin them around to make the back of the cheetah feet the bot feet, but it resulted in further fucking with an already back heavy toy, as the balljoints made it sag backwards.
I don't like Universe's head much, though. Why's one eye bigger than the other? It doesn't look expressive, just weird.

Defensor was pretty good. Pretty stable overall, and everybody looks great.
Bruticus is good as well, but for me Brawl is kinda meh, Blast Off's head doesn't look right, Vortex has the ugly toy colors, and Swindle, while a fantastic mold, seems waay too beefy for Swindle. Onslaught is fine.
Granted, I have no nostalgia for any of the original combiners so I'm going purely from a design perspective.
Menasor is a shit combiner but individual bots rule, while Superion is kind of the opposite- most solid combined mode but aerialbots are all kinda samefag.
Devastator's pretty damn good, especially with upgrades or buying the UW version, but he's not scramble city and way bigger than the others.

I remember Menasor, Superion, Bruticus, and Devastator. Probably because they were featured the most. I remember Predaking because he looked awesome as fuck, and the Seacons because I had their toy as a kid and they were cool and had very unique colors.
Defensor and Computron were basically "Who's?" for me, but after messing with Defensor so much since he was the first CW combiner I got my hands on, he's sort of earned a place in my heart despite having no attachement to him previously from the cartoons. Plus Rook being probably the best Deluxe in all of CW in terms of play factor doesn't hurt either.

Oh I still like Takara's more. If I get any, it'll be that one. Headmasters Fortress is my Fort Max. Rebirth was too short, I never really got into Marvel, and IDW Fort Max is a different kind of dude than a citybot (at least until he's forced to become one in the upcoming crossover).

I could see this working if each body had the same electronics inside, but each "character" was triggered by specific combinations of pins being pressed inside the neck socket. Each headmaster would have different nubs at the base of the head to press these buttons inside of the neck. A similar setup has already been done with one of those Ben 10 Omnitrix toys.

That's my biggest impression of him too. He's basically a trade off of more articulation for less gimmicks. Which normally wouldn't be too big of a deal, but for such a large guy, you won't really be putting him highly-dynamic poses anyway.
