Actually, it looks like it comes with "mirrored" hands. Machinegun-finger hands for the right hand and normal hands for the left hand.

These are the reverse of what we normally see on the Gouf, so if you get the Dodai, you could have a Gouf with double machinegun-hands or two plain normal hands.

HG proportions look better to me, but this is nowhere near as soft as the Barbatos sculpt so kudos there. I'm not sure why they released them so close together. Surely the HG kit will cannibalize a fair amount of the RD's potential sales.
>>
>>5749308

I don't understand this notion, because I know gunpla builders are very elitist and frown on action figures so why would there he any crossover and cannibalization of sales for something the large majority wouldn't even consider buying?
>>

The Force Impulse shown there is the recent HG. The RD Force Impulse coming out in September and shares tooling with this Destiny Impulse.

>>5749319
I meant that action figure people would be likely to buy the HG because it looks (at the very least) nearly as good and is 1/3 the price. Also the really elitist assholes are a vocal minority. Plenty of people, myself included, do models and collect figures. I do admit to preferring that they cover different stuff though, if only to have more things to chose from. I figure that if the RD line must almost exclusively put out Gundams then it would be nice if they did Gundams that don't have (good) kits. The Destiny Impulse is a good example of this actually.

Non-competition is very likely one of the major reasons the OYW RDs are going with anime styled proportions. Models already have more stylized OYW stuff well covered.

I certainly can, but if your curious about something specific like a pose; can try it out if you'd like.

Modern Leos in the series don't have the rotating heads, can just rotate the whole upper torso to survey the battlefield. Though I believe the old model Leos had the rotating heads, but can't remember where I saw that happen; so am unsure of it now.

I admit it is a dumb weapon but Juiceteece made it look cool so rule of cool controls here.

It's just a weird omission. Same goes to the lack of beam shield.

Wings of light are more iffy, the design can do without them.

Aside from the OG Seed lineup of GAT machines it seems that Bandai is deliberately trying to kill the Seed RD with the latest releases:

Freedom--derpy face
Juiceteece--no boomerangs
Noir---Derpy face

Muh Evil Gundam--Exclusive

Destiny Impulse -- no b'rangs

Welp, at least the regular impulse looks good

Shiningfag here. anybody do weathering to their RDs?

I think some light weathering would look good on RDs. I was watching this weathering tutorial for gunpla and figured it would work just as good on RDs, no need for paints, just some pencils.

https://youtu.be/imBtJfLJBcY
>>
>>5751409
I think prices go up with each release because they know the only people who want unpopular units like the Bozone will pay pretty much whatever to complete the entire set.

But, yes I also think the line is headed to a pretty bad place in the next year or so. Especially once they run out of OYW and Dunbine. Vifam really only has Toranfam left that could really sell. Even L-Gaim seems to have been scaled back and might not finish after that stupid backpack reissue bombed. I think that the line will need a completely new direction to survive once the current 80s real robot lines are milked dry.
>>
So I haven't heard/seen anything about the alleged upcoming Nouvelle D-Seerd Heavy Metal RD.

I even check tamashii's website and nothing. Did it get scrapped?
>>
>>5751487
Well, I partially agree. With upcoming OYW releases we will see a deluge of Jimmies and their variants, as well as a bunch of Zakus and their respective variants. Same with the myriad of rx-78 variants. So that could potentially keep it alive.

In terms of other series, I think this is the crucial aspect for the lines long-term viability. They need to branch out to non-gundam stuff ASAP.

For example, what the hell happened with the Eva's??? They could try to do a T.V. Eva line [hate the stupid horn on Eva-02] and move on to E.O.E. for mass-produced eva's. They can even do an exclusive of the F-type to give a nod to Anima.

Also, Fafner. NO OTHER company is doing fafner mechs. Only bandai did them, and then they dropped it. The show has a dedicated cult following and the newest iteration has new new fafners. The more militarized fafners look pretty cool.

Scopedawg RD anyone??? This is a potential gold mine with the easy repaints and reuse of a single mold. They could test the waters with it and then go on to release the other different looking ones.

Dream mode:

FFS or GothicMade mechs. If there is one company that can pull it off is Bandai. They could stick with the 'easier' designs like the Junchoons and Cross Mirage and Black Knight [this last one is basically the same as the RD Vatshu].

So there are many ways, irrespective of price, in which they can infuse life into the line.
>>
>>5751517
I think the reason they are avoiding Votoms is that Bandai is already putting out a bunch of modern Scopedog figures and models in other lines. RDs would probably over saturate the market for Votoms stuff.

Personally I'd love to see more Fafner stuff and a shot at making all the lead Sunrise robots that have never had figures or models. Stuff like Z-Mind, Imber(I know it had a really shitty model), Nelly Brain, and Frank.
>>
>>5751400

At that kinda price, I'll probably wait for a sale. And I fucking love the Bozune.
>>
>>5751543
Still hoping that Bandai goes back and finishes up Code Geass. Both seasons still have stuff that need figures, plus the Akito the Exiled OVA, and Oz the Reflection spinoff.

I wouldn't even mind if they were all exclusives, I'd buy everything.

Haven't had much opportunity to post or play with my RDs lately, but there's been so much cool stuff to check out when lurking thanks to you guys. I'm super hyped for all the new releases! Digging anon's color shoops of the Ex-S too; I want them all!

>>5755373
Oh interesting, there's no waterslides, instead all the decals have been tampo/painted on. I hope that's become the new standard since the Marking Plus Xi/Penelope, and the Ex-S appears to have it as well.

>>5760697
>>5760747
It's a lovely RD, the sculpt and detail are just ace, while the articulation is excellent allowing it to pull off perfect sniping poses (complete with fully functional knee brace). The included accessories are cool too with several spare barrels, some of which are glowing hot after having been fired. The RD has a full matte painted finish as well as a sheet of waterslides to customize the Zaku if you so desire.

>>5760709 raises a good point that some people have reported the wrist joints breaking. I can recall two different anons in the RD general who have had it happen to them. Personally, I've had the Zaku Sniper since release and its hands are perfectly fine (knock on wood, haha), but I can understand being wary especially at 80 bucks. If you can score one for $50-60 though, I say go for it!

And yeah, it is gonna look totally rad with the Desert Zaku, haha.

Can you give me a reason to buy the white dingo GM sniper over regular GM sniper II?

I read that the white dingoes were an australian federation team and I felt that as an australian myself, I want an MS that is based there.

The Dingoes were the main team in an awesome Dreamcast game called Gundam Side Story 0079: Rise From the Ashes (which I still play from time to time!), and the GM Sniper II was the final suit you could upgrade to. IIRC you normally unlocked it just before the final battle, but you could go back and replay any of the older missions with your shiny new Sniper II. The Sniper II was an awesome suit in the game (in stark contrast to the Sniper II's performance in the 0080 OVA, where they served as mere cannon fodder for the Kampfer), so for fans of the game/team it's an easy purchase!

Even if you're not familiar with the game though, there's a lot going for the Dingo GM. First, it has the awesome beam sniper rifle versus the regular GM's conventional slug rifle. Second, it has a unique shield that has prongs attached to the front similar to the Ground Gundam's shield. Third, you've got the neat gunpod attachment on the Dingo's head. But above all, you have that totally sweet blue/white color scheme for the Dingoes plus that awesome tampo of the team symbol on the shoulder! The striking color scheme is definitely my favorite thing about the Dingo GM.

Those are all fairly subjective 'pros' to be honest, and are probably heavily influenced by my affection and nostalgia for the Dingoes, haha. The Dingo GM doesn't actually do anything differently than the regular GM (it's just as awkward getting the Dingo GM into firing poses with its unwieldy rifle as it is with the regular GM), it just comes with different stuff. If you don't have that Dingo nostalgia and the color scheme doesn't really do it for you, you don't really need to pay the premium for the Dingo GM.

Still, they are excellent figures, and as you said I think they'd make for a very cool addition to an Australian Gundam fan's collection! Just know that you aren't necessarily getting a superior figure over the regular release, just a different one.

I really do hope the ex-s matches the old 1/144 in scale, but that makes me ask another question.

What about the xi in this line, the old fix figuration wasn't in proper 1/144 scale yet the newer (and metal composite) ver ka psyco gundams were (which I bought purely for size but they seem about right), after that I've never had any real faith in model kits matching model kits in proper scaling, do these newer robot damashii ver ka's do that?

One of my favorite aspects of the White Dingo version; its' shield is actually made up of a RX-79(G)'s shield with half of a RX-78-2 styled shield attached overtop for extra armor. I just love how crafty they were to take 2 shields and make them into one bad-ass version.

Most of the ones on Mandarake come with the second color-corrected figure though, so you get a little more bang for your buck than some of the other RD's on their site. Although I do have a few questions if you don't mind. The barrel of the Zaku's sniper rifle, does it have a hole/peg-hole? If it does (and if you have the A.N.I.M.E Gundam) can you try putting the beam rifle blast in the barrel? Second question, can you show a pic of the slots the backpack attaches to? Is it possible to fit the backpack on the new Zaku II? Sorry for all the questions anon, you're just the only one I know with that RD.
>>
>>5761950
Heh, funny story, I'm actually a different anon who doesn't own a Zaku I sniper, so I can't help you there, but I'm sure someone will chime in for you.

But I will give a piece of advice: don't try fitting the A.N.I.M.E. Gundam's beam rifle effect into other rifles. That's how I broke mine, and I'm really disappointed about it still (funny enough, it was trying to see if it would fit in the White Dingo GM Sniper II's rifle). Now I'm considering ordering another RX-78-2 just for th effect. Ce la vie.

Oh man, it hadn't even occurred to me to compare the two in-hand, so I'm really glad you asked.

As you can see, the Sniper is a bit larger than the Zaku II, which was a little surprising. The difference is less pronounced in-person, and in terms of proportions they actually fit in with each other pretty well. The most noticeable different is the thicker legs/feet of the Sniper.

>>5761090
>its' shield is actually made up of a RX-79(G)'s shield with half of a RX-78-2 styled shield attached overtop for extra armor

Try searching ROBOT魂 or ロボット魂 and just browsing through the results. If you spy a Dingo GM, run the description through Google Translate or something. It'll usually be enough for you to tell if the replacement figure is included or not.

When I got mine, Mandarake had wrapped the spare figure in bubble tape and simply stuck it inside the GM's box (plenty of space to fit it). I couldn't see at all inside the box though, and I'd been expecting to see the replacement figure packaged separately, so I totally thought Mandarake had forgotten to include the spare figure. Was so bummed, until I opened up the RD box and the spare plopped out, haha.

The barrel has a sculpted hole to it, but there's no real depth to it and definitely won't fit the RX-78's beam effect.

As for the backpack, it attaches via a simple square slot. Fits securely, but is still easy to remove if you want, though I'm afraid it won't work with the Zaku II.

And feel free to ask all the questions you want! That's what this thread is all about, so you never have to worry about asking too many.

Ahh, so that's how it happened. That would have been amazing though if it worked, so I can't blame ya for trying!

Bro can we get a side to side of the two? I want to see how tall the zaku is to the zaku 2

I fucking love that they made this. I didn't think they would. I don't think I've been this happy with Bandai since they announced SOC Ideon.

That said, I'm gonna be pissed if/when the olive cannon-fodder version is an exclusive.

>Oooh, looking forward to your new addition.
Well, here it is! An oldie, but (as I'm finding out) a goodie. I've wanted a Savage for a long time, and decided to snag one off Mandarake instead of getting a Qubeley (I'll still pick up a Qubeley eventually, but this guy has been kinda like a "holy grail" for me for the last year or so).

It's a really fun RD. The articulation is a little stiff compared to today's standards, but it's very expressive and can still pull off most poses well. The accessories are great too; just enough to have a good time playing around with different load-outs and poses. Even my girlfriend has taken a liking to him because of his oddly cute design. Heh.
>>
>>5762444

That's a shame, I was really hoping they would be the same size. Thanks
>>
>>5764133
Eh, it seems to be negligible discounting the command horn and antennae. It certainly wouldn't be very noticable in pics unless they're standing side by side like that.

And this is the main reason I've wanted a Savage for so long. I adore my Scepter (even if he can be a bit difficult to keep standing at times), and the similarities between these two have made me want to team them up ever since I got the Scepter. They just look so great together!

>>5762444
>Dude, you have totally blown my mind, anon!
I know, right?! When I realized that I was amazed too! I already loved the design of that shield, but when I realized it was comprised of two different shields, I grew to love it even more. The RD's shield is actually two separate pieces too, but the armor plate is glued on-top, so unless you got one with weak glue and it popped off (like mine, which is how I found this out), you might not ever really notice.

>>5762475
>Ahh, so that's how it happened. That would have been amazing though if it worked, so I can't blame ya for trying!
Yeah... The hole looked about the same size, so I decided to try. But unfortunately the beam sniper rifle's barrel is just a tad too tight a fit for the beam effect, and while trying to pull it out, the peg snapped.

Very much would appreciate you doing this! Maybe a request if you feel like it, get some silly pics as well as serious stuff if you don't mind.

Just wanna see lots... Looks like that Canada Post strike(though I feel a lockout will be enacted before the strike can be attempted) is just about guaranteed now. Even better a friend working for UPS just warned me off using them, since they'll be ready and strict about collecting their Customs fees this time around... Ugh.

Would say it's a worthwhile figure for an Australian fan, and seems to take inspiration from the WWI Australian ranks of both its infantry and snipers. Where the made a name for them as a fighting force by their field innovations at times.
Anyone remember the WWI entrenching tools and how they were described as being generally ineffective for actually digging out trenches? There's where the RX-79[G] Gundam shield comes from I believe, but to tie it back to the Dingoes Sniper II; enthusiastic as they were WWI Australian forces(like other countries) had a maddening time utilizing the common entrenching tool supplied to them by the British hahaha! Most commonly the wood handle to them would break after some uses, so continued use would be handling the 'ring' and pick end. Then it was found they could be great melee items as well.
Then eventually the Australians started doing some neat things with them, more humorous one is a crotch plate frequently. As well could also could be piked into the ground. With the shovel plate being a tiny bit of extra protection for machine gunners, and snipers to sometimes help steady aim a bit easier with the 'ring'(though read they'd sometimes need to mud/foliage the shovels for cover while using) and that bit of protection.

Hope that helps >>5760830 with a bit more to consider with the response in>>5760895! Sadly Canadian textbooks only went so far in describing the other members of the commonwealth.

So jealous of your pic. I just want one damnit! Just one! Rise From The Ashes was one of my favorite Dreamcast games. I played the crap out of the Official Dreamcast Magazine demo while waiting for my copy to arrive as a kid (I almost cried when shipping was delayed). No other Gundam game has come even remotely close this one in terms of creating the feeling of piloting a mobile suit in that universe.

Well to be honest reduced the number down to three just for now, one corrected body; and the two you see with markings on the torso.
Did it since there have been a few WD GM Sniper IIs popping up, where both the original figure and the extra have the correct colors a bit now.

Also going forward, feel like people interested should know; the torsos on these could use a topcoat... If your just light posing infrequently, can probably skip it; but looking to play with it. A topcoat will keep the blue from fading a bit on the edges or corners...

Silver lining though, the error and correct color figures we see usually; are starting to go down in price a bit. Middleman saw two of them at Fukuoka for 6000 yen apparently(albeit some pretty dinged boxes so who knows if they went up online though) last week.

Will get a second Bozune later. There were two assigned onto the Zelana.

I got a second red Botune on the grounds that a second one appeared due to a colouring animation error in one of the episodes.

I also have two royal guard Botunes.
>>
>>5766635
>There were two assigned onto the Zelana.
Wasn't that only for a single episode?
Cause I still question that one time a 2nd Botune was present and then seemingly never seen again as far as I recall.

Just like how sometimes there was randomly a 2nd Fou and sometimes there wasn't.

Anyway, still waiting on the green grunt Botune so that I can army build that.
>>
>>5766637
I personally also have two Fous.

Has it been confirmed that the Bozune fits onto the RD Fou? Even the flame bomb from Drumlo might fit it.

If so, I might have to get a third.
>>
>>5766580
Last time it was a shelf warmer when it was reissued with the initial release of the Auge.

I remember getting a B:B for 9800 yen and then got another for 11000 yen.

Now it is 16k.
